I am looking for a program that will rip through a couple thousand psd files and provide a list (preferably csv or xls file) of file names and corresponding dimensions and resolution for those files.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI usually do RAW photo editing on Photoshop on my old Fujitsu laptop & have recently I have upgraded to a Mac Book Pro. I have noticed that when I do the same kind of processing on my Mac book, the photos tend to not be as dark & have contrast as I would normally like it to be. Meaning to say, photos that look really dark in on my Mac book look rather greyed & washed out on my Fujitsu, however the photos I have processed on my Fujitsu all look nicely exposed on my Mac book.
So is this due to different screen resolutions? Because the photos I have edited on my mac look really different when compared to on my Fujitsu, like the colors etc.
I used to assign certain width numbers for my psd webpages but it creates horizontal scroll bars on small monitors.
Can i do something with my psd file using photoshop in order to make the webpage fit all screen sizes? I don't like horizontal scrollbars appearing when my site loads. On the other hand, I also don't like un-necessary space appearing on large screens when my site loads. I use photoshop 7.
I have a high-res psd 3300-x5100 which I need to save as a thumbnail 200px wide and another 300px wide. Both smaller images are png or gif.
I see that saving a high-res gif and shrinking the gif to thumbnail results in poor text quality.
The psd has text in some layers and I've found that shrinking the psd image size does an excellent job in rendering sharp text in the smaller image.
Here's the problem I'd like to solve. Reducing the psd image size brings a risk that I might accidently save the reduced psd overwriting the high-res master. This would be a disaster. There are several workarounds, saving a temp psd, reduce, save png/gif. But these take clicks, time and disk I/O. Then there's the redundant reduced psd to delete...
Is there a better safe way to save lower resolution gifs?
I create a new blank image 300 pixel/in call land1. Then i add a photo (new layer) 1024 pixel/in to land1. So when I save, the photo inside land1 will stay 1024 p/i or it will be down to 300 p/i . When I merge layers, what is the final resolution? Do I need to make the land1 to 1024 p/i before add new photo?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got ton of 50mb tiffs I need to reduce to small jpegs and watermark.
But I made an action and the watermark looked great on some and microscopic on others.
The files that had a resolution of 4000 (from slides per scanner) were fine.
The files that were shot digital -- resolution of 240, watermark was microscopic.
So only solution is to make seperate actions correct? (what a hassle)
Seems so stange in that the files are all same size more or less in size and the resolution really only matters if you print the dang thing, which I'm not doing now!
I'm trying to merge something in a photo I took but the resolutions are different. The original photo is a little more pixalated then the object i'm including in the picture. Whats the best way to ADD pixalation and bring its resolution down to make the picture look worse so they match?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen i use the FraxFlame 2 filter of KPT 7 (very heavy filter) in Photoshop 7 (also tried in version CS and 6 at work, didn't work) in a small image size, it works fine. When i try it on a big A4 image (300 DPI), the computer starts working, and after a long time, the layer i applied the filter on is unchanged. Strangely enough the use of the filter is in my history panel.
My comp is a WindowsXP with P4 1,7 Ghz and 512 MB RAM.
Is there away to "one-click" export an image to a set of .png files with different resolutions? (I need this for a set of iOS app icons).
For example: Export a file MyAppIcon.psd into the following:
MyAppIcon_29x29.png
MyAppIcon_57x57.png
MyAppIcon_114x114.png
MyAppIcon_512x512.png
MyAppIcon_48x48.png
MyAppIcon_72x72.png
I almost succeeded in doing this with Photoshop Actions, but can't figure out how to make the file names include the original image file name. In other words, file NewApp.psd should export to NewApp_29x29.png, not MyAppIcon_29x29.png.
How can saving files in different Sizes and/or different Resolutions be automated? I think of an action, but I definitely don't know how or if this is possible.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am unable to use the file command open, new etc. I click on open and nothing happens no file box opens. As soon as you do anything else the program says not responding and you have to close it down. I can click on an autocad file in windows explorer and bring up the file this way but as soon as you try any file command such as save as the program freezes again. I am running windows 7 professional and the autocad LT 2011 64 bit program.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIn x2, in project properties, I could select "mpeg2" as the compression type, which would let me select a whole slough of resolutions.
In x3, it seems I can only select DVD pal or DVD ntsc, which of course are extremely limited for the resolution.
I'd like to be able to select 1280x720, for instance. I have old templates I saved from x2 that let me do it, but how else can I do it?
When I go to save a file in psd i keep getting cannot save file because of program error and when i go look at the saved file it is now something like this ~ps7574.tmp the numbers are always diffrent..but I loose my file..I cannot do anything with a .tmp file. I have unistalled and re installed and it keeps doing it..

How can I change the playback and still player resolution for my timeline or for a clip?
I would like to be able to switch between full-resolution, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16ths etc... (with one setting for playback and another, separate setting for still image/paused frames) e.g. via a right click on a clip/player.
PS Just like in Redcine-X or Adobe Premiere or AE...
I took some shots yesterday with my iPod Touch Fifth Geration and Adobe Bridge (of just by clicking on the file in Finder) shows the file size of the jpeg files at about 2.33 megs with dimensions of 1936 x 2592 or 26.9 x 36.0, 72 ppi. When I open the file in Adobe Photoshop CC, the file size is 14.4 megs with the same dimensions.
Why is there such a difference in file size?
And, after I work on the file in Photoshop and save it again AS A TIFF IMAGE without changing dimensions, but doing some work with NIK filters, Adobe Bridge now shows the new file at 14.39 megs. I know that TIFF takes up more file size than jpeg, but is there that much of a difference in file size?
first post on the board and i have a simple question. how do lock the height and width numbers to maintain scale? like say i wanted to use a file that is 2x4 and i wanted to change the height to 8, then i would also like the width to automatically change to 4 for me.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using CS6 for quite sometime with no much issues at all. All the sudden, today, without any changes being made in my computer (iMAC IOS 10.9) the software stopped opening files when I went FILE/OPEN and selecting the file to open (jpg). CS6 opens "finder" and then quickly the finder window disappears (so no time to make any selection,,this is not related to a type of file since...I can never get to even select one..) and the message "Could not complete your request because of a program error". The only option is to click OK and that is it.
I now need to go and open finder and then navigate through to the file and the right click and choose Open with CS6 (anf the file opens)..
Working on a client job, I created a photoshop cs6 document. Now I can't open the document anymore. Program error message.I always make different versions when working on a job. When I have to make an important change I save a new version of my work. All the previous versions won't open either.
I still have my Photoshop cs5 installed on my computer. Tried that and it worked. All the files open in cs5 but won't open in cs6.I remember taking some work home where I have cs4 running on the laptop.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I tried to use file browser in PS7 this morning, it opened and, instead of showing the directory tree structure that I last left it in, it only showed the desktop with the + sign to expand that folder. When I click the + sign, I get the following error message:
"Could not complete your request because of a program error."
What could have happened and how can I fix this so I can use my file browser again?
I've upgraded to APE11 and now I receive the following message (everytime I insert my cameras' photo stick):"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed create an association in the Default Programs control panel."

However when I use camera raw, the dimension of the raw file is changed to2:3 which causes me to loose part of the picture. If I save the raw file to tif and open in elements I get 3:4 but then I can not edit in Camera raw! I have a canon powershot g12 and photoshop elements 11.
