I have Elements 10 and use a Windows 7 machine. When scrolling to select a file to open the program closes. This occurs when I scroll down to RAW files. It happens before I actually select a file. The program does not freeze but just closes.

All of a sudden, Photoshop Elements 9 has stopped working. I receive a "runtime error" message and the program closes. Do I need to do a reinstall?

1-create new document
2-create a simple vector shape (rectangle, circle, etc.)
3-Convert to bitmap (i used default settings)
4-Trace (I used LOGO, but I don't think it matters)
5-Undo until it's vector again.
Program closes.
I've upgraded to APE11 and now I receive the following message (everytime I insert my cameras' photo stick):"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed create an association in the Default Programs control panel."

The computer is a new HP desktop with Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 operating system. Computer is new HP Envy w/2.4GHz chip, 8 Gb memory and 1 Tb drive and Nvidia graphics card. Running Windows 8 64 bit, AVG antivirus with windows firewall.
This happened last week when I first installed it. Tech support repaired the installation and it began to work again. Now it stopped again after I used it only twice?I click the icon, the opening window appears, I click Photo Editor, the program blinks and closes by itself. In older versions, I could have a lot of pictures on my screen and switch between them.

In Adobe Camera Raw, is there a way to select the file type that you save your image in. It seems .dng or DMG are the only file types, I would like to save my original CR2 file and save a copy in JPEG for others to open.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been working with some illustrator files for a while and all of a sudden I cannot open them anymore. I do not even get an error message. I tried opening them on another computer. They open, but then when I order to re-link the images, the file just shuts down. The files are quite large, but even when I make them smaller (smaller then when they were before this problem started), I still cannot open them. I thought it might be related to the images, but also older files with no new images have the same problem.

Scenario: GIMP is open with multiple files.
Browse a folder in explorer and select OPEN WITH GIMP or just OPEN. And a GIMP startup splash screen appears and reloads the GIMP application automatically closing and losing any work that was in progress on the prior GIMP screens.
It was working perfectly fine over the weekend and then Monday I open illustrator and try to open a drawing I was working on and it closes on me everytime. Now I can't open or save files without it closing itself. I would uninstall and reinstall it but i lost my code. I have to make vector images for a couple of clients of mine!
View 2 Replies View RelatedPhotoshop has just started disappearing for what seems like no reason, it doesn't ask you if you want to save what you have changed or anything, it just closes without warning.
It happens when I'm looking for a graphic to open, click on the graphic after going into folder inside another folder, inside another folder, anyway click on the graphic and everything disappears and photoshop is closed.
Oh one other thing it always seems to happen when I'm looking on the second harddrive. And we recently upgraded from a duron to an athalon, but everything seemed to be ok for a couple of weeks.
I am unable to use the file command open, new etc. I click on open and nothing happens no file box opens. As soon as you do anything else the program says not responding and you have to close it down. I can click on an autocad file in windows explorer and bring up the file this way but as soon as you try any file command such as save as the program freezes again. I am running windows 7 professional and the autocad LT 2011 64 bit program.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using CS6 for quite sometime with no much issues at all. All the sudden, today, without any changes being made in my computer (iMAC IOS 10.9) the software stopped opening files when I went FILE/OPEN and selecting the file to open (jpg). CS6 opens "finder" and then quickly the finder window disappears (so no time to make any selection,,this is not related to a type of file since...I can never get to even select one..) and the message "Could not complete your request because of a program error". The only option is to click OK and that is it.
I now need to go and open finder and then navigate through to the file and the right click and choose Open with CS6 (anf the file opens)..
Working on a client job, I created a photoshop cs6 document. Now I can't open the document anymore. Program error message.I always make different versions when working on a job. When I have to make an important change I save a new version of my work. All the previous versions won't open either.
I still have my Photoshop cs5 installed on my computer. Tried that and it worked. All the files open in cs5 but won't open in cs6.I remember taking some work home where I have cs4 running on the laptop.
How do you copy a file dir in program dir and overwrite!?
