Photoshop Elements :: 12 Won't Load / Open After Two Or Three Closes?
Nov 13, 2013
I have recently downloaded elements 12. It runs just fine. However, after three saves it will no longer load/open. If I resart the computer it will load again one or two times and then I need to restart again.
Â
Computer is new HP Envy w/2.4GHz chip, 8 Gb memory and 1 Tb drive and Nvidia graphics card. Running Windows 8 64 bit, AVG antivirus with windows firewall.
I have installed Elements 11 and it worked OK for about 3 days. When I try to open the editor now it starts to load, then freezes. My PC uses Windows 7, the program is registered & everything else works normally.
I have CS5 and Photoshop opens fine. However, when I try to open a file, photoshop closes immediately. I re-installed photoshop and the same thing happens. How do I fix this?
I just recently installed CS4 on my new computer running Windows 7. Everything I read says that there is no compatibilty issue but when I try to open a file (any file) the program stops working and just closes down... no explanation
I have a 64 bit quadcore with 8 gigs of ram. Ran the program on a 32 bit system using Vista previously with no issues
If I have more than one drawing open at a time, a not infrequent occurrence, when I close one drawing they all close. Before if I closed the drawing I had open, it would leave the other open for me to work on instead of having to re-open the whole CDR application all over again. I have deleted and re-installed several times and installed SP2
This happened last week when I first installed it.  Tech support repaired the installation and it began to work again. Now it stopped again after I used it only twice?I click the icon, the opening window appears, I click Photo Editor, the program blinks and closes by itself. I am at a lost as to where to go from here. I order the magazine and support today and can't open the program!Â
If I work in Edit mode all the time I can open as many pictures as I like from the Organizer and have them all open at the same time. If I return to the Organizer and open another image, the ones already open are not affected. However if I go to the Manager tab (which only seems to be the Organizer on a separate page) to select an image I have to close any and all items already open in the editor. Surely this cannot be intended behaviour. In X3 it was possible to open images in the Organizer which was on a separate page and then return to it and open others without the original ones closing so why can't we do this in X4? The Manager does allow multiple images to be selected and opened at the same time but these are still closed if at any time you return to the Manager.
Update: I have now read a few posts about this problem and indeed it is not possible to switch between Edit and Manage modes without closing any images you have open for editing. The general feeling seems to be that this is not a problem as the Organizer (File manager) is available in Edit mode anyway so there is no need to go to the Manage tab. However I would disagree with this as some of my folders contain large numbers of images and it is much easier to browse through them using Manager in thumbnail mode as you can see far more images at once than with the Organizer in Edit mode. Also I find that Organizer gets in the way in Edit mode and would much prefer to switch back and forth to the Manager as was possible in X3.
Even if this problem does not affect everyone it is still difficult to understand why Corel would insist that images in the Editor are closed before switching to Manage mode. I cannot personally think of one reason why this would be preferable. Additionally the Organizer in Edit mode does not appear to have any way of resizing the thumbnails to optimize the number viewable at any one time.
I have Elements 10 and use a Windows 7 machine. When scrolling to select a file to open the program closes. This occurs when I scroll down to RAW files. It happens before I actually select a file. The program does not freeze but just closes.Â
I am using Elements 10 with Windows 8. When I select panoramic merge, the software closes down and I get an error message saying that its encountered a problem and closing dow.Â
Photoshop has just started disappearing for what seems like no reason, it doesn't ask you if you want to save what you have changed or anything, it just closes without warning.
It happens when I'm looking for a graphic to open, click on the graphic after going into folder inside another folder, inside another folder, anyway click on the graphic and everything disappears and photoshop is closed.
Oh one other thing it always seems to happen when I'm looking on the second harddrive. And we recently upgraded from a duron to an athalon, but everything seemed to be ok for a couple of weeks.
I put the elements 12 disk in my DVD drive and it spens about 4 minutes trying to get going. The lights on the drive flash occasionally, and you can hear it trying to go. I go to "my computer" to check the "drive" folder and it never appears for me to click on it and open it. It also doesn't automatically load which I have turned on. I have verified it is a DVD drive.
I cannot load or open any photos in Lightroom 5.3. I just installed it recently and was getting ready to use it. When I open Lightroom 5.3 it gives me an error message saying "An error occurred when attempting to change modules." I was in Bridge and then from Bridge I tried to open a photo into Lightroom. I tried to get a photo from desktop etc. Nothing worked.
PSE 9 run fine until 2 days ago. upon opening found I had no Organiser menu, but had edit. Now no Organiser or edit. Only get Welcome screen. No changes to computer. Quad core, 6 meg RAM. Win 7, Home premium.
I have been following the directions on the Florabella you tube page on how to load actions. Everytime I try to add a new cation however I lose the actions that I loaded. How do I keep my already loaded actions and add the new ones?
I just purchased a new HP Envy Laptop with Windows 8 and installed both Lightroom 3 and Photoshop Elements 9. Lightroom is working perfectly. I cannot get beyond the welcome screen on Elements. PSE 9 will not load when I try to "Edit In" from LR3. (Note; Organizer will open, just not Editor)
I've uninstalled PSE9 and installed PSE12. The basicintroduction menu loads and the editor menu, however the Organizer just will not open eoither direct or via the editor?
I'm running windows 7, I have tied 3 times reinstalling etc to no avail...?
Catalog fails to load in Photoshop Elements 5.0 on windows 7 operating system. After installation, the "edit" portion of the program runs regularly but the "organize" portion fails to load the catalog.
I just purchased a Nikon D7100 and after taking some pictures I tried to load them on Photoshop Elements 11. When doing so I got an error message stating "Nothing was imported. The files or folders selected for importing did not contain any supported file types ot the files are already in this catalog" (they aren't already in the catalog.
I have upgraded from Win XP to 8.1 by buying a new machine. I have a valid copy of elements 11 on DVD. This was upgraded from elements 8 which was downloaded and those files have been lost. Windows 8.1 will not read the DVD. Â How can I get PSE11 onto the new machine?
