I have a metadata template which I apply to my pictures but everytime this action is performed I'm left with the creation date of the images changed to the date that I created the template (3 years ago)

This problem has been present through all versions of Photoshop that I've used from CS2 to CS5.
why does the Date Created metadata change when images are exported? How do I stop it from changing? I must have a preference set up wrong.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhy does the capture date in the metadata panel not match the capture date seen in the grid extra view and how do I fix it? The images that I have in my library are digitized negatives and I've corrected the capture dates and times to be accurate; however, the capture date and in the metadata window shows what I've changed it to and the date in both the grid extra view and the Metadata>Edit Capture Time... options both reflect the date the image was last modified. Not all of the images in my library are this way and some show the correct information. When sorted by Capture Time, all images fall exactly where they should in the proper order (based on the changed, corrected edit time and not the modified date). I saved metadata to the file with the new date but it didn't fix it.Â

On a Windows machine they are located in Owner/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/XMP. I have some templates that I want to copy from a Windows laptop over to a Macbook Pro.
I have created layered templates in CS6. I've saved them both as psd and tif formats (an industry requirement). I have no problems reopening the files but some of my colleagues get an error when opening the tif file. This is the error message "This document contains unknown data which will be discarded to keep layers editable. To preserve the original appearance instead choose flatten to load composite data as a flattened image."

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to PSE 11 from PSE 9. I actually did this by buying a new comptuer and putting PSE 11 on the new computer. I used the Windows File and settings transfer wizard to move all my files to the new comptuer. So inside MyPictures folders, they are in the same location as in the old comptuer. But when I soft by date order, it sorts by the date of the file (which seems to be random based on when windows copied the file to the new comptuer) instead of the created date.

Furthermore, on the old comptuer, in PSE9, i set the date and time of each picture so it would be right. This seemed to set the created date (which was missing for a lot of my scans or was the date of the scan) and made the PSE9 organizer sort them correctly. Seriously, are people expected to do that months of work again every time they move to a new computer? or am I suppose to have tell my wife, "deal with seeing your kid's pictures in random order -- Adobe thinks that is best."

I am currently having a service digitize about 3,000 of my photos, shot of 35mm film. I am entering IPTC metadata using Photoshop's File Info….
I want to use the Date Created feature. Fortunately, I have the exact calendar day of most of my photos. However, in a few cases, I know only the year and the month, and not the specific day.

I have discovered the Date Created feature doesn't support entering only a year and a month (unless I'm missing something.) I thought it would support, for example: 19860100, for an unknown day in January 1986.

I am using PSE10 and I have just upgraded from lion to mountain lion 10.8.2. Previously when I clicked "write keyword tag and properties info to photo" it seemed to just do that. Since the upgrade to mountain lion when I click 'write keyword tag and properties info to photo" it also changes the date the photo was created to the date the info was written to the photo .

How I can get it to write the keyword info *without* changing the date the photo was created?
I noticed that when we convert NEF files to DNG in it properties the Date Created and Date Modified are changed to the present date and not the original dates of the files in question. Is there any way to make such a conversion without changing these properties? Yes, I know 'Date taken' does not change--but this info does not show up when you hover a file only the info in its properties. Also am I correct in assuming that this conversion is 100% loss-less, nothing but nothing is lost in the quality and info of the file (besides the file size)?

When adding IPTC data to a slide show, I am able to add almost every item, except "Date created". That does not apear in the ABC list.
I found a curious bug in Lightroom 4.2.

If I have pictures taken after 23:00, Lightroom creates an import folder in the next day, but the dates in the files are correct.

Example: The file's date is: 29/11/2012 23:19.

However if I hover my mouse over the image in the import dialog:

I've started to notice this before, but always thought of a wrong date on my camera. Just noticed that this happens with my camera, iPhone, and any other photo that has a time after 23:00.
Sometimes (atleast 2 times) when I take photos late, butween about 10-11 PM they are created in a folder with the date for the following day.

Last time this happend was yesterday (2013-06-05). Almost all photos was automaticlly in folder for 2013-06-05 for the import but 10 photos shot between 10.07pm - 10.43pm was put in the folder 2013-06-06.

I find a lot of date metadata fields but none of them work for sequences. Im in 7.2.1
I tried to create some keywords for photos, and save them into oringinal photo files by selecting photos in library then choose "Metadata>Save metadata to file" from right-click menu.

But, when I right-click original photo files in windows explorer and choose "Content>Details", these metadata set in lightroom doesn't appear.

we have on company drawing title block the date created field. . . . but when the file is being transfered and "save" it shows the present day of saving. . . is there any lisp that when used, it will show the original date its created. .?

I've created a new album on the right hand side under "Organize" and just the photos I want are in there. When I look at the folder on the right, all the pictures are there. But I can't call up just that folder; instead what I get on my screen is all 2500 photos in all my photo albums! Not what I want! What I want to get is all the photos in the order in which they were taken on the actual day as all 500 photos were taken at the same day. And I want to be able to view just the 500 photos in that folder by the time those pictures were taken. But, when I imported the second batch of photos it showed the date the file was created rather than the date the photo was taken so, basically, I've got one batch of photos showing the date they were taken (which I downloaded via a link a few days later), and one showing the date they were copied!

So I decided to export the ones I want then import into PSE 12. As I do this many of the dates on the pictures change from the date taken to the current date. I have tried several different ways and can't stop the dates changing. I am putting them into mobile albums in PSE 12 if that makes a difference.
View 2 Replies View Relatedwe have just upgraded from Inv 2011 to 2013. I am trying to create the drawing templates in 2013 by using the blank 2013 template and then copying our border from 2011 onto it. This works a treat apart from 1 thing.
The i properties do not get copied over as well so the sheet is blank from drawing number, title and the custom properties etc.
All of a sudden I notice that when I open a file in Autocad Architecture, it shows the file creation date and not the actual last save date. Only thing I can think of is I reinstalled 3dsmax Design and I wonder if that changed something. I attached a screenshot for reference.
