I need to convert a layer so that it is only one color(black). It can't have any other shades in it. I tried color overlay, but there are still little spots where there are shades of grey on the outsides of the graphic,

View 2 Replies View RelatedLet's say you just have a simple black line in Gimp. You then use the color select tool to select it, and you plan on then converting that Selection into a single line Path.

You select the line, but the Selection tool actually travels a loop around the line. So, when you turn that Selection into a Path, you do not have a single line, but you instead have a loop.
So my question is this: is there any mechanism for making your Selection in GIMP just a single line so that it can then be converted into a Path?
Originally, I was trying to achieve this in Inkscape (and started a thread about it in the Inkscape forum). However, it appears that, although other Vector Art programs can achieve this, Inkscape cannot. So I was thinking that I could instead use Paths in GIMP instead, but this is not possible because of the nature of Selections, as far as I can tell.
Here's an attempt to illustrate this request:
I have created a TIN (triangulated irregular network) of an existing survey in my terrain modelling software (12d Model). I am able to export (save-as) the TIN as 3D Face Triangles for opening in AutoCAD (2012) or similar.
My ultimate goal is to create a solid surface in Inventor. The surface has to be seemless (stitched) in order for me to create a new sketch and extrude to this surface. Finally giving me a part in Inventor that represents my ground. I would then want to use the same process to bring into Inventor all other Civil Design works created in 12d Model such as roads, earthworks platforms (including dams) etc.
I've tried stitching (Inventor and Microstation) without success. Inventor keeps crashing and Microstation looses data. AutoCAD (2012) won't let me create a polyface mesh from 3D Faces. I tried doing a mesh, surface union without success. Programs either crash or data is lost.
Any way to convert all of the single line text in exisitng drawings to multiline text without having to do them individually in Civil3d.

I'd prefer to manually create the muscle bone objects from only the joints I plan to use for the muscle system, and then do the skin conversion using only those joints already converted. Basically, I only need a few muscles in this system and therefore only need a few polygon bone objects, but as far I can tell, there is only one way to do the skin conversion and it automatically converts every joint that the skin is attached to.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter creating two adjustment layers and then selecting the background layer, i attempt to convert from RGB color to LAB color but get the following warning: "Changing modes will discard an adjustment layer; change mode anyway?" and if i click on "OK," an adjustment layer disappears. Why does this happen and how can i prevent losing an adjustment layer. i am using CS2 and have a 16 bit image file. (i am converting to LAB in order to sharpen and will subsequently convert back to RGB ).

I have created an action that converts to LAB, applies a couple of curves, and then converts the image back to RBG. I created a droplet with the intent of using the droplet in Lightroom. My plan was to apply to a smart collection of photos. However, the droplet says that the convert is not available. What am I doing wrong? Am I approaching this the wrong way? Is there a better way? I take team photos and I have HUNDREDS to do. This droplet will save me DAYS of editting time.

I know there is the replace color adjustment, but this replaces a single color e.g. 190,190,190 with another color e.g. 200, 200, 200. I would like to replace a range of colors e.g. from 185 to 195 with 200, 200, 200.
I am kinda new to image editing and I am wondering how to do something like on the news (the weather reports in particular) where the replace/add the landscape to a green/blue background. I would like to do it with a white background and have it replaceed with something more interesting. The closest I can find is the color replacement tool but that is not quite what I want to do. I have a single layer which is a bunch of people with their hands in the air (on top of transparency).
I want to change every bit of the shape of those people.... to a single color (e.g., very, very light gray blue)
I made the background of an object (single color symbol) transparent, then re-sized it. I then added a transparent layer to another image, with the idea of placing the symbol onto that layer. I tried to move the symbol, but that didn't work. I copied the symbol image and tried to paste it onto the layer. It pasted, but all I got was a transparent rectangle that matched the size of the symbol image.

After some difficulties I eventually got a case number which meant that I could get some support. I supplied a problem description and sample files to first level support. This is the reply that I received:
The file was saved as 16 bit TIFF with ProPhoto as the color space, this one is a big factor because PaintShop Pro (X5 or X6) has its own color space and is only supporting RGB color space. It is normal for PaintShop Pro to convert your image to sRGB because that is the embedded color space. Also, I suggest you to contact ProPhoto to know what do they support or if they support PaintShop Pro.
Color shifting is normal due to the color space that is being used by a specific program (i.e. PaintShop Pro). Colors that are not within the range of RGB color space will be determined as imaginary colors.
When using "convertpstyles" to convert from ctb to stb I am asked to select a stb file. When I do I am given an error that says the color mapping table I have selected does not contain a color mapping table and cannot be used to convert the drawing.

I've been messing around with Live trace for a few days, but every time I try to convert it to Vector, it destroys my gradient, and converts my Pantone to CMYK.
URLs.....What I need to do, is convert to vector while keeping the gradient, and pantone colors in the graphic to prepare for screen printing.Before anyone says "you don't need to use vector for screen printing". We run Corel X4 on our transparency machine, so I need to convert to vector, and keep the halftones fine, as well as keep the pantone color book.It doesn't need to be a "quick" way to do it...it just needs to be done.

While the images on my screen appear as I want them, and will print true to their colors on my printer, when I convert the files to pdf, jpg or eps formats to send out, the colors lose their vibrancy and appear (and reproduce) washed out. It seems as though it's something in the conversion process.
