Photoshop :: Cursor Change?
Aug 26, 2007For some reason, sometimes when working in Photoshop CS2 (PC platform) my paintbrush cursor changes. I have it set in preferences to show the brush size and it usually stays that way, but occassionally, it reverts to precise mode so I cannot see the brush size on the screen. The only thing that seems to work is closing PS and restarting it. What a pain.

Apr 7, 2008Most of my photoshop work involves adding or modifying mottled grey backgrounds or cutting around people photographed against a grey background using the stamp tool.
With the background grey and the cursor color grey, it's incredibly hard sometimes to find the cursor let alone see what I'm doing. I'd like to change the cursor color to something else, but I'm mystified as to how it can be done.
making this change in either CS1 or CS3 running under Windows xP sp2 or Vista?

Once I roll over the picture the arrow is lost and becomes a strange 3 small things, so can't do any work accurately. Still using PS 7 in Win 7. This was not a problem previously. Already uninstalled and reinstalled and problem is still there.

Mar 18, 2013I have a macbook pro with Photoshop CS6 installed. Recently Photoshop has been freezing frequently. Especially if I try to use too big of a brush. The cursor will change to the rainbow loading symbol, and I can't click on anything else on the computer. After it is finished loading a few minutes later, everything else on the computer is slowed down. What can I do to make the program run faster, and stop it from freezing? Is it the program or the computer? Does the computer need more speed to be able to run the program?

Oct 1, 2012I’m getting a strange cursor when I use the Paint Bucket tool. Instead of the bucket with the pointy bit to show where you’re aiming, I get three tiny paint buckets in a horizontal line, looking a bit like a fragmented ruler, so it is impossible to see where the point of the paint bucket is. I have used CAPS LOCK to get the crosshairs but would refer the normal setting to be available too.
I have shut down the PC and restarted with PS9 as the only app open but I still get this funny cursor. Some of the cursors from other tools are also affected, esp. when I left-click.Have I changed a setting by accident?

Jul 9, 2012I don't use the Color Sampler Tool much, but In checking something for another thread, I noticed the cursor now seems inconsistent with the cursors of the other tools.Basically, I expected it to drop the sampler on the little crosshair, and it dropped it instead at the end of the dropper.
This used to make sense, and it's still consistent with the Eyedropper cursor (and with prior versions of Photoshop). But I find that now I've gotten used to the other new cursors, most of which now define the hot spot at the upper-left, it didn't do what was expected.

Jul 1, 2012Why does dragging on a Touch Screen change the cursor into a Hand Tool? This did not happen in CS 5.5 and I could edit on my touch screen monitor. With Photoshop CS 6, as soon as I start to drag, the cursor changes to a hand cursor. I have look at all of the system options and nothing seems to affect it so I have to assume it is something wrong with Photoshop CS 6.

Sep 26, 2012I have both Corel 12 and X5. A few years ago a friend of mine installed a custom color palette in my C12 that was matched to the Federal Standard 595 color system.
When I move the cursor over each color in the palette, it displays the FS number assigned to each color (ie. FS35237, FS37038, etc.)
I recently installed the same color palette into X5. However, when I move the cursor over each color, it displays the RGB color ratios for each color. If I open the palette and click on the 'display names' option, it shows the FS number for each color but reverts back to the RGB ratio when the palette is minimized to the right of my screen (I hope that makes sense).
How can I get the FS numbers to display when I move the cursor over the colors?
