I have a large number of images for which I need to collect various data points that photoshop and its plugins produces (i.e., histogram RGB mean, SD, etc.). I'm looking for a way to write this data to a *.dat or *.txt type file from automated manipulations. The structure would need to include the image filename, and all the values captured that are associated with the image.
View 1 RepliesI am experimenting with a simple form of CAD/CAM and would like to be able to export the coordinates of my drawing to a data file in order to use it as an input file forthe CAM system. I am running AutoCad 2000 and would expect to be able to have this option available under the Plot command but have not been able to see how it can be done. For example, taking the simple case of a rectangle, I would like to be able to write to file the coordinates of the four corners of the drawing.

how to make text look like it was written in the sand of a specific image however I am struggling.I've spent hours searching on Google and going through tutorials but none of em work well.The biggest issue seems to be around the build up of the sand outside the letters, I don't care if my image has this or if it doesn't.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhile trying to do a full backup to an external hard drive, I am getting a message "error encountered while writing file" after about 75% of the 14,000 photos. I believe I have traced the problem to a missing slide show presentation program that was on an external hard drive (F) I no longer have. The program still works (from the C drive), however if I click on the program thumbnail in the Organize screen (which points to the F drive), and try to delete it, I get a message "An error occurred while reading files or writing files to disc. The disc may be full or there may be a problem with the source media." I believe that is because it is looking for the program on the non-existent F drive. What can I do to enable a backup?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to move my catalog from a Windows xp computer to a new Windows 7 computer.In attempting to do so I an trying to make a backup of my catalog.When I attempt to make a full catalog backup I get an error message at the end of the writing of the backup file. The message is: "Error encountered while writing file."
The images are written to the backup file (> 20,000 images) and the Catalog.buc is written as well, but the Backup.tly is missing in the backup folder.I have gone thru my catalog and have found no unconnected files and no file that are in need of repair. Everything seems to be in order with the catalog.
I have been wondering why my backups (differential) weregetting larger than they should, and I noticed that some of the files (.psd and .jpg, and mayde few .tiff) were modified. Interestingly, I do not see this happening to cr2-files, that I mostly use. After trying to figure out what's going on I noticed that corresponding xmp-files were modified also. This is not the issue due to their small size, but still I had not edited images that were changed for quite a while.
Change that I see in xmp-files is rather large, and presumably related to Adobe's change in xmp-data structure. Eg.

In addition to the sample above, whole xmp structure is changed. So I presume that maybe LR is writing metadata chages to xmp in the background?
What I find disturbing is that when checking changed jpg files, I saw the similar data written into the jpg files also (files were created with oldish Canon 20D, and not edited for quite a while). These are examples from changed jpg-files (not the same from which the abone xmp-data change was taken, but similar change is visible in the corresponding XMP):
Also jpg-file from offset 0x04 was changed from "50 60" to "51 18". Also offset 0x10 was changed (16 bits). I have Lightroom configuration option "Include develope settings in Metadata Inside JPEG, TIFF and PSD Files" not selected. The option "Automatically write changes to XMP" is selected. To my understanding neither of these should not have impact to the issue. Is there something else I should check?
Change is made most likely by Lightroom 3.5 version, and has not occurred with previous versions. I have not notices this happening with 3.6, but I have been using it only few weeks. Is this known issue with previous version 3.5, or am I missing something obvious? System running is Windows 7 pro 64bit. I have not have any issues with LR lately, except crashes that I white about a week ago.
I have a problem with After Effects CS 5 on Windows 7 64 bit.When I try to render out quicktime formats in After Effects I get an error message:
After Effects error: Rendering error while writing to file "E:/ . Unable to open file. (-1610153459)
Rendering to other drives, like C: or D: works fine but as soon as I try to render to the E partiton.I get this error.... It must have something to do with permissions on that partition.I don't want to reinstall windows.

Is there any other way beside writing a script file to do this?
I have a master shape file that contains parcel ID, owner, tax info., etc. I have another file ( access 2003 -open to better file format suggestions-) which contains parcel ID and a "yes" or " no" entry for whether or not the parcel needs a new water meter. All I want to do is add the water meter information into the other shape file. This would create one shape file with one table with all the information that I need.
Ultimately I will use the information to do a map query and find out spatially where i need new water meters.
Right now i have the master shape file connected though the “Connect to Data” feature. I also have the new data added to the drawing though the Data sources------>attach under the “Map Explorer” Task pane. I attached access file (ver. 2003 .mdb) which has two columns “Parcel ID” and “Meter”.
I right click on the shape file under the display manager and select”Create a Join;” however my water meter table is not listed as an option. Will this not work?
Plan B - I tried to Create and connect to the access file as an ODBC connection. Followed this guy’s directions to a T [URL]. But when i populate my table under the fdo connection the column headings exist ( “parcel ID” and “Meter”) but the actual data is missing. Am I missing something important?
Note: I am running c3d 2012 on a Win 7 64 Bit machine. I also removed office 32 bit apps and installed 64 bit apps to see if that would solve the problem. No go.
Without using scripts, is there any way to have rectangles or textboxes act on values coming from a data file? For examplle if the value in a textbox was greater than 10 coming from a data record, could the textbox change color, or any other attribute to make it change from record to recortd as it is being viewed or printed?

And would I just run it like i run the non-batch version, like, from a document? Or is there some kind of batch process setup in corel where I can just load a sub and point to a folder and run it, like illustrator?

I'm having trouble printing in Photoshop CS2. Rregardless of which printer I try to print to, I get the message "Could not print because of a problem writing the print file". I have never encountered this error before.
The psd file I am printing is a wall banner, and is quite large (~200MB). It contains elements copied/pasted as pixels from Illustrator CS2. However even if I flatten the file, or save as a flattened tif, I still get the same error message.
Thinking that the psd file is corrupted, I tried printing an earlier version of the file, with no luck. I've even tried printing other, small unrelated files, and can't print those either. Even after rebooting the computer.
The computer I'm using has a dual core processor, 4GB RAM, a decent graphics card and is running under XP. I have gob-loads of HD space and also use a scratch disk.
I really only want to print the file myself as a proof. However, I'm concerned that the banner printers won't be able to print the file either.
After I save a file for "Web & Devices," when I open it, it returns this message, "This file contains file info data which cannot be read and has been ignored." Will this cause any problem with the file once I place it in the website I'm building? I've never seen this message before on a photo I've edited. The changes I made involved color correction.

ACA2013 was released and I have had it on the desk for some time and finally I got the nerve to load the upgrade. This I did in accordance with the instructions. The upgrade went well.
Additional problems with my working files involved, the file will lose data while working in the file, the program will do strange things to the file like I would lose data while in layout tab within a viewport and the data would still be present in the model tab. I have lost printer setup files only to reopen the drawing and find these have returned.I have lost layout tabs completely. I would reload another menu and they would return. I was speaking to another person comparing Autocads and his had the layout tabs and mine did not.I have zoom scaling problems within the layout viewport. I use to be able to zoom, scale, 1/20xp for 1:20 scale and it would not recognise the command.I was informed via Autodesk to load the service pack Autocad_2013_sp1.14_64, this would not work then I was informed to load the service pack Autocad Architecture _2013_sp1_64 which it did successfully. Still had problems with ACA2013. have situations where the shell command will not work ie punch a hole within the object selected.I have changed from the working model tab to layout tab and back to model tab only to have the view change for no reason ie it will go into (+)(custom view)(wire frame) without selecting it.I have lost data, (part of the actual drawing) within my working drawing simply by using the boeleon subtract command.I have situation when you use the push pull command and nothing happens and then you reopen ACA afresh and try it again and this time it will work.I have email Autodesk in the US and it got alll TO HARD for them and they have abandoned me.
How can I strip all data from an Image?
Like Rating, comments, ICC profiles, Guides and Slices, EXIF, RAW, Camera data ... etc.. etc.. I would like to strip all the data from my images that I use as album art for my Media Center..
I just want an Image and nothing else.
I see people saying the file (or is it multiple files?) is kept in the HD root. I don't see anything there (I only have one drive) that looks relevant to Photoshop, even when I view invisible files. Where the file is, and what it's named? Is it invisible?
The reason I ask is that I want to exclude it from my ongoing Time Machine backups. I'm slowly learning the various Adobe folders that I need to exclude manually. (AutoRecover, Application Support/Adobe... in fact, the bazillion CS6 folders within Applications, since I'll just restore them from Creative Cloud if I have a failure.)
Sometimes Time Machine has been doing a big backup for reasons unknown, and I think the recent installation ogf CS6 may be the culprit.
I placed a watermarked image for review and now need to buy the real stock image, but have accidentally deleted the source file. Is the file data stored anywhere in Photoshop like a Link would be in InDesign?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo here's the problem. I managed to delete a photo from my digital camera. Now I need it back. I recovered the file, but strangely, it's not actually recovered.
Now, I know file recovery is hit and miss, and since this was a photo from the camera itself (not a memory card), things get more complicated. Anyway, I manged to get back the photo...sort of.
The file I now have is 160x120, instead of the 3040x2288 it should be. Now, if this was an actual thumbnail, I would expect the file size to be pretty small. Instead, this little 160x120 image is 2.16MB. This leads me to belive that somehow I can get the real photo (or at least something better than the little image) back from the file. There has to be a reason for that much extra data, right?
Does anybody know how to do this? I figured Photoshop might have some advanced sort of raw file reading or some sort of rebuilding/recovery. Alternatively, someone could point me to a good recovery program (or even some other way to do this).
If it helps, the camera that the file came from is an HP Photosmart M627.
I am using Elements 10 and 11. I would liike to be able to retrieve image data....for example focal length; f-stop; shutter speed and ISO. Wether this is possible and how to do it?
