Nov 18, 2002I was just curious as to if there is a way to make a window blind effect like you can in Paint Shop Pro. The effect adds horizontal lines to an image giving it a digital look.

Softimage :: How To Cloth Simulate Window Blind
Nov 2, 2012I am trying to cloth simulate a window blind. My problem is as follows : The model is made up of several pieces.
1. the curtain / blind
2. a hard button near the bottom
3. a cord attached to the button
4. a wooden know at the bottom of the cord
5 then finally tassled material
So i want the blind to move like cloth blowing in the wind ( fine no problem i can do that ! ) but the hard button must be hard surface and follow the mesh position of the blind - PROBLEM
Then the cord attached to the button must be cloth dynamic to flap about and then the knob on the bottom hard surface attached to this cord and then the tassels must be cloth.
The only way i can think of to do this without merging the seperate geometry is to simulate the curtain then cash this, the attach the button to a cluster on the curtain, then do the sim on the cord, then cluster attach the knob the cloth the tassels.

May 5, 2004I’m some what color blind in a few colors, basically browns, greens and maybe gray. I enjoy working with scanned and digital pictures in Photoshop. There is nothing more frustrating than working for hours on a picture that I feel might be my best work so far only to have my wife ask, “why is there a reddish tint to that picture?” Or “I don’t remember that being the color of Bobby’s shirt” Is there someway in PS to be able to bring out the true color in a picture even though I might not be able to see that specific color properly?
I had heard that 70 to 80% of all males are color blind to a certain degree. So I know that there has got to be a way for me to survive in PS

Mar 26, 2013I am labeling station and offsets from my alignment for curb returns and such and for some reason if the offset point is directly perpendicular from an alignment PC or PT the label can't find the alignment information. It's like there is a blind spot.

Jun 19, 2012I've recently started using Inventor at my small shop and I'm just getting things kicked off. One thing that we do fairly often involves the use of key locking inserts, similar to McMaster # 90245A034 (I couldn't post a link directly to their catalog page........)
So I'd like to edit my Thread.XLS file to include a tab for this, so I could choose the internal thread and it would create a tapped hole to a certain depth. For example, a 3/8"-16 insert has a 9/16"-12 external thread and needs a tap drill diameter of 0.516, 0.57" deep. The 9/16"-12 thread needs to be 0.56" deep by the chart.
My question is, how do I control the depths within the spreadsheet? I'm assuming that I can't just add a column and call it "tap depth" and "drill depth" and have it be good. Is there some "teach" process to tell Inventor what column represents what kind of feature?

Sep 30, 2013I've been trying to reproduce this color blind conditionfor a long time now and I still didn't figure out how I can do this. I've searched for cluts but didn't find any, only this, which has some previews of them, but no any files I can load into Photoshop's Color Lookup adjustment. I've looked into Pixel Bender plugin, but I'm using CC so that doesn't work either... I've also tried it with the Index Color mode, but that really messes up my image as it has a really low color range (256). I've even tried reproducing the same effect with adjustments, channels, etc, but didn't figure it out.

Since there's a way to perfectly color proof images with this condition, I'm guessing this has to be some kind of ICC profile or something similar. Is there a way I can use it as a color profile?
Photoshop :: ACR Window Too Large For Laptop Desktop Window?
Apr 5, 2012I have just installed my newly purchased PSC5 extended software. When I try to use the ACR it will load and I can use it but when I try to open, save or cancel my image I cannot. This is because the ACR window is too 'long' for my Sony desktop window and the buttons I am trying to access are in the 'shadow' of the desktop window. When I try to resize the ACR window to access the buttons it will let me adjust it on the vertical window edges but not on the horizontal window edges. I have to reboot the laptop to do anything at all.

Mar 11, 2013As a new user I really prefer the single window mode but have a real problem in that every time I open a filter the window/box that open opens up underneath the single window and I cant see it without minimising the main gimp window. I've played with the preferences windows management options and seem to have all the file options curves etc on top now (these were opening under the single window at one point) but nothing I do seems to want to make the filter boxes open where I can see them - It's making GIMP quite unpleasant to use.

When I inserted the window into a wall, otherwise the window worked fine, but when I changed the window's Window Inset value, the frame depth changed instead of the frame's location. The frame was originally made by Sweep tool, but now when I made it by Extrusion tool, the window works fine. Anyway, for future purposes, I would like to know how to be able to use the Window Inset parameter with a frame made by Sweep tool. How do I lock the depth of the frame sweep?

Feb 18, 2013I'm making some graphics to be printed on a car. I have some lines with outer glow on them, but Illustrator won't render these unless I use 72DPI in raster effects reslution. I would like to go higher, but it won't give me anything. Guessing it's to heavy for Illustrator maybe? Is there anything I can do about this? I'm making my graphics in 1:1 scale, but I do it in a lower scale since it's just vector art anyway, however how would that effect my glow? Since it's a raster effect.

Repro: Import any footage to a new project - any resolution or frame rate. Create new composition from clip. Type in "Crop" in effects search Double click to load it. Result is an effect called "Wigglerama" & "transform" gets loaded instead of the required "Crop" effect

AutoCAD 2010 :: Drawing Window Swaps On It Own To Another Drawing Window
Jul 24, 2012Sometimes, when I have two or more drawings open in the same instance of AutoCAD, another tab opens up on the Windows Taskbar. Here's the scenerio; I have two drawings open. On the task bar, Autocad's icon shows two drawings open. Somewhere while drawing, AutoCAD will start bogging down, especially when switching drawings. On the Window's Taskbar, it will now show three drawings open. Two of which will be the same drawing.  There will only be two drawings open. The drawing which is currently on top for editing will be the one that shows up twice. If I change to the other drawing, it takes a really long time to swap. Sometimes, it will sit there for a minute and then swap back to the other first drawing on it's own. I try going back to the second drawing again, and the same thing happens again. The only way to stop this from happening is to completely shut down AutoCAD and restart it. I think it has something to do with the ribbon. And I also notice it more often after doing a CopyBase, but not always.

There were two image boxes open, and both of them were plastered against the left side of the screen, and every time I grabbed one to move it, it slipped back to the left as soon as I released it, and in ever-increasing increments, to the point where I couldn't even see the picture anymore.

Jul 2, 2009Ever since CS4 came out I feel like I've been less productive in Photoshop due to annoying window dock/snapping. Windows are constantly sticking and resizing themselves in ways that blocks the work I am trying to do.
Also the main image itself automatically resizes to feet the work space and I find this also an annoyance. This is my main question: How can I disable "sticky" windows? In fact if there a way to get the old classic skin back that would be great, also...
because all the programs in CS4 are missing a handle bar at the top of the window, making it difficult to find a place to click to drag the window around...which also wastes time. Sometimes the classic skin is visible underneath buttons in graphic glitches..
Finally, is there a way to disable hardware acceleration completely? My processor is fast enough that it can complete tasks faster than the latency of accessing the GPU, so hardware acceleration actually slows things down. Also the hardware code has bugs in it that prevents me from opening massive images (eg, 21600 x 21600 image crashes).
Photoshop :: CS4 Window Pops Up For...
Feb 22, 2009This same thing was happening in Photoshop CS3 and I could never figure out why. I figured that since CS4 was coming out, I would buy it, stop using CS3 and the problem would be solved, well it's not. So far, I'm happy with the new program but for some reason, out of nowhere, while working on a photo, the Photoshop Help window (which opens as a web browser window) will pop up for no reason! Today, it popped up over 6 or 7 times and I nearly had to crash the program to get it to stop. I figured this problem would have been solved with the new version since the same thing was happening in CS3 but it hasn't. I'm running a Windows XP-based machine that I built myself about 2 years ago. I have a 512mb ATI Raedon X1650 video card and have 4GB of RAM so this machine has far more than enough power to run the program. I updated my video and mouse drivers prior to installing the program.

Feb 23, 2008Is there anyway to setup photoshop CS3 so that you can drag documents around by selecting the top of the window, like you can in every other windows compatible application? You know like you could in every single other version of Photoshop?
I work on multiple documents at once and need to drag them around, CS3 does not allow you to do this. Being aloud to drag a window is no longer automatic. It requires way to much work I have to move the mouse over the leftmost small icon of the top of a window (which is usually obscured by the tool palette so I have to minimize that as well),
then I have click on the little icon, then scroll down to the move choice, now the window is able to be dragged - All these steps are talking way to long for working on multiple documents. Does anyone know of a way to just automatically allow a document to be dragged around in photoshop? The way it used to work in every other version up until CS3?
