This same thing was happening in Photoshop CS3 and I could never figure out why. I figured that since CS4 was coming out, I would buy it, stop using CS3 and the problem would be solved, well it's not. So far, I'm happy with the new program but for some reason, out of nowhere, while working on a photo, the Photoshop Help window (which opens as a web browser window) will pop up for no reason! Today, it popped up over 6 or 7 times and I nearly had to crash the program to get it to stop. I figured this problem would have been solved with the new version since the same thing was happening in CS3 but it hasn't. I'm running a Windows XP-based machine that I built myself about 2 years ago. I have a 512mb ATI Raedon X1650 video card and have 4GB of RAM so this machine has far more than enough power to run the program. I updated my video and mouse drivers prior to installing the program.
popup boxes like the one that occurs on export to set compression level, as well as the notifier of colour profile (option to keep or convert) appear behind the main window of Gimp, so I need to alt+tab over to the new window.
Is there a way to adjust this so that they pop up on top of Gimp?
I want to "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings File", but at startup when I hold down [ctrl alt shift] I get the "scratch disc preferences" window instead. It was fine for a long while and this just started recently. Â I have Windows and Photoshop CS5. The scratch disc preferences is on the first selection 'start up'.
Had this issue in PS7. PS CS6 was fine until recently, but now it does the same thing. Â Pops up a help page (usually several) in a browser. Seems to occur primarily when the fx (layer style) pane is open.
I just recently started getting an error when I try to slice something, Right as i click to slice, an error pops up saying "Could not complete your request because of a program error".
I'm wondering if there's a way to turn off the nag dialog that pops up every time I use CS6 Liquify on XP. Â I have to run CS6 on both my XP and W7 partitions - (some other apps I use are not W7 compatible, so having CS6 on XP sure saves a lot of dual booting).
I haven't found a way in the prefs to stop it appearing - I wish there was a "Don't Show Again" checkbox on it at least.
I usually use photoshop (cs6) in full screen mode with menu bar. Often I use the window+d shortcut to return to the desktop. From here, whatever window I open, ie my browser, explorer, etc, photoshop pops up in the background minus all the menu bars. This is very annoying because it means I cannot work with files on my desktop.
When I open a .NEF file, the Camera Raw window pops up and I save the file in a .dng format. Â But then, I cannot open the .dng file with Photoshop Elements (Camera Raw pops up automatically). Â how can I open the .dng file in Photoshop Elements?
I have created a background for a flyer I am making, but would like to add text that takes on the design of the background. So imagine that the background is a piece of cloth, if you placed you hand under the cloth the cloth would take on the impression of the hand. So the text would be poppin' out at the viewer from what would look like underneath the background. Something similar to this. I have seen it on other flyers and was just wondering how it is done.
This has been occurring for a while, and is quite consistent, but I've never bothered to ask. When I select Find/From History/Imported On, a window pops up with "Delete Keyword Tags" and a progress bar which starts to move. I always immediately hit cancel, and then the "Select one or more groups you imported" window comes up, so I select the date and things work fine.  So what is going on with the "Delete Keyword Tags" window? I've not noticed any tags get deleted, but am I risking losing them if I didn't immediately hit cancel?
I double click on <Set Layer style on current layer> and change to a new Layer Style for my Watermark Text. The <Contour> is Linear. The Actions panel turns red during editing.But when I run > Automate > Batch and select that edited Action, the <Layer Style> screen pops-up for each photo and the only way to finish the batch of photos is to click <OK> for each photo. I’m using Photoshop CS5. I have refresh Photoshop, restart my laptop but the problem remains.  I did another copy of the original Action and just changed the value in <Text Layer> and it works in the Batch processing. This problem only happens when I changed the value in the <Layer Style>.
When i want to go and fillet, match properties, copy or do anything to a line that I have drawn, I have a selection box that pops up. it asks me what line I want to do it on. My co-worker is running the same program and he doesn't have this dialog box pop up.
The attached images show that quickproperties is not checked, yet while selecting objects the quickproperties dialogue box will randomly appear against my desires (I am unable to continue selecting objects once quickproperties is displayed).
i have one dll i been making for many years with many programs inside. works fine and all. however when i close civil 3d i get the following message box (see attached)

I've already downloaded the 2013 Service Pack 1 for this problem but I still get the popup message every half hour or so (see attached image). Â I only used the service for a render once with Revit Architecture 2013. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.
I have just installed Illustrator 9.0, running on Windows 7. The install was fine but when I try to launch the program I receive the following 2 errors:
1) "Pencil or smooth tool out of memory. Try editing at a smaller zoom magnification".I click OK because that's the only option. The next error window occurs with:
2) "The filter cannot complete because of an unknown error" Error: IMEM.I click ok again because that's the only option.
I opened a document and it popped up a messages asking if I want to revert to the saved version YES or NO. This is weird because I didn't try to open the document twice. I suspect it is a macro that was causing this problem but I have many so it could take a while to locate the culprit. I also suspect a windows 7 update may have caused an interference with the macro.Â
When I try to start Inventor is attempts to open and shows up in the active processes list for a few seconds.
Sometimes it will quit before the splash screen appears and sometimes a split second after it appears. No error messages or computer lag, it just simply quits. I'll list the steps I've taken so far. (Windows 7 64 bit)
Deleted the Cascadeinfo.cas file
I've had an error when my 3d connexion mouse trys to start so I uninstalled the drivers.
IT guy could open Inventor from his login on my computer but still not with mine.
Deleted Autodesk folder in the AppData folder and deleted the Cascadeinfo.cas again.
Did a "Repair" of Inventor.
Did a "Re-Install" of Inventor.
Nothing has worked yet and the only advice I'm finding is in regards to deleting the Cascadeinfo.cas file.
My thoughts are that the key to this problem is the fact that it works for other users on this machine. I just don't know what it is or how to fix it.
Just upgraded from 2010 to 2012. How do I turn off this new "accudraw" that pops up when drawing a line? And can I disable it permanently? (accudraw is the only thing I can equate it to).
I have just installed my newly purchased PSC5 extended software. When I try to use the ACR it will load and I can use it but when I try to open, save or cancel my image I cannot. This is because the ACR window is too 'long' for my Sony desktop window and the buttons I am trying to access are in the 'shadow' of the desktop window. When I try to resize the ACR window to access the buttons it will let me adjust it on the vertical window edges but not on the horizontal window edges. I have to reboot the laptop to do anything at all.
As a new user I really prefer the single window mode but have a real problem in that every time I open a filter the window/box that open opens up underneath the single window and I cant see it without minimising the main gimp window. I've played with the preferences windows management options and seem to have all the file options curves etc on top now (these were opening under the single window at one point) but nothing I do seems to want to make the filter boxes open where I can see them - It's making GIMP quite unpleasant to use.
I modified a Window Family file by adding a Window inset parameter. When I inserted the window into a wall, otherwise the window worked fine, but when I changed the window's Window Inset value, the frame depth changed instead of the frame's location. The frame was originally made by Sweep tool, but now when I made it by Extrusion tool, the window works fine. Anyway, for future purposes, I would like to know how to be able to use the Window Inset parameter with a frame made by Sweep tool. How do I lock the depth of the frame sweep?  The file is attached.
In the program window, it looks like its been pushed way in on the full image in the source window. No matter what I do, I can't get it to appear the same as in the source window...
Sometimes, when I have two or more drawings open in the same instance of AutoCAD, another tab opens up on the Windows Taskbar. Here's the scenerio; I have two drawings open. On the task bar, Autocad's icon shows two drawings open. Somewhere while drawing, AutoCAD will start bogging down, especially when switching drawings. On the Window's Taskbar, it will now show three drawings open. Two of which will be the same drawing.  There will only be two drawings open. The drawing which is currently on top for editing will be the one that shows up twice. If I change to the other drawing, it takes a really long time to swap. Sometimes, it will sit there for a minute and then swap back to the other first drawing on it's own. I try going back to the second drawing again, and the same thing happens again. The only way to stop this from happening is to completely shut down AutoCAD and restart it. I think it has something to do with the ribbon. And I also notice it more often after doing a CopyBase, but not always.
I recently started using cs6 Photoshop and its the first time I get around to selecting hair with cs6. I know how to do it with cs5 not a problem. I simply cant find the mask window! Where did adobe put it this time!?
