I'm wondering if there's a way to turn off the nag dialog that pops up every time I use CS6 Liquify on XP.

I have to run CS6 on both my XP and W7 partitions - (some other apps I use are not W7 compatible, so having CS6 on XP sure saves a lot of dual booting).
I haven't found a way in the prefs to stop it appearing - I wish there was a "Don't Show Again" checkbox on it at least.
The attached images show that quickproperties is not checked, yet while selecting objects the quickproperties dialogue box will randomly appear against my desires (I am unable to continue selecting objects once quickproperties is displayed).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've installed PS CC and have an AMD Radeon HD 7970M card in my laptop. PS detects the card in Preferences and I'm able to choose it for acceleration (i.e. OpenCL, etc.).

When I try and go Filter -> Liquify on any image, the Liquify dialog pops up, but i don't see the image. All I see is a black in the dialog.

When I turn off acceleration, and go to Liquify, it works.
My AutoCAD has started doing something different, I don't remember turning it on, and now I can't figure out how to turn it off.
What happens is when I hover the mouse near two or more objects a little blue box icon appears telling me that there is multiple objects there. Then, if I click, it asks me which object I want to select. URL....
I am SO TIRED of having to unplug every single peripheral device attached to my computer before opening the Import dialog box in Lightroom to keep it from taking forever to access local drives due to auto scanning!

Why can we not turn that OFF in preferences? Why is it on in the first place? Lightroom should not scan a folder to generate thumbnails in the Import dialog box until a Source folder is manually specified! In fact, you should be able to Import without any thumbnails in the view at all if you choose.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis same thing was happening in Photoshop CS3 and I could never figure out why. I figured that since CS4 was coming out, I would buy it, stop using CS3 and the problem would be solved, well it's not. So far, I'm happy with the new program but for some reason, out of nowhere, while working on a photo, the Photoshop Help window (which opens as a web browser window) will pop up for no reason! Today, it popped up over 6 or 7 times and I nearly had to crash the program to get it to stop. I figured this problem would have been solved with the new version since the same thing was happening in CS3 but it hasn't. I'm running a Windows XP-based machine that I built myself about 2 years ago. I have a 512mb ATI Raedon X1650 video card and have 4GB of RAM so this machine has far more than enough power to run the program. I updated my video and mouse drivers prior to installing the program.

Pops up a help page (usually several) in a browser. Seems to occur primarily when the fx (layer style) pane is open.
I just recently started getting an error when I try to slice something, Right as i click to slice, an error pops up saying "Could not complete your request because of a program error".

From here, whatever window I open, ie my browser, explorer, etc, photoshop pops up in the background minus all the menu bars. This is very annoying because it means I cannot work with files on my desktop.

I have created a background for a flyer I am making, but would like to add text that takes on the design of the background. So imagine that the background is a piece of cloth, if you placed you hand under the cloth the cloth would take on the impression of the hand. So the text would be poppin' out at the viewer from what would look like underneath the background. Something similar to this. I have seen it on other flyers and was just wondering how it is done.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis has been occurring for a while, and is quite consistent, but I've never bothered to ask. When I select Find/From History/Imported On, a window pops up with "Delete Keyword Tags" and a progress bar which starts to move. I always immediately hit cancel, and then the "Select one or more groups you imported" window comes up, so I select the date and things work fine.

So what is going on with the "Delete Keyword Tags" window? I've not noticed any tags get deleted, but am I risking losing them if I didn't immediately hit cancel?
I want to "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings File", but at startup when I hold down [ctrl alt shift] I get the "scratch disc preferences" window instead. It was fine for a long while and this just started recently.

I have Windows and Photoshop CS5. The scratch disc preferences is on the first selection 'start up'.
I double click on <Set Layer style on current layer> and change to a new Layer Style for my Watermark Text. The <Contour> is Linear. The Actions panel turns red during editing.But when I run > Automate > Batch and select that edited Action, the <Layer Style> screen pops-up for each photo and the only way to finish the batch of photos is to click <OK> for each photo. I’m using Photoshop CS5. I have refresh Photoshop, restart my laptop but the problem remains.

I did another copy of the original Action and just changed the value in <Text Layer> and it works in the Batch processing. This problem only happens when I changed the value in the <Layer Style>.
When i want to go and fillet, match properties, copy or do anything to a line that I have drawn, I have a selection box that pops up. it asks me what line I want to do it on. My co-worker is running the same program and he doesn't have this dialog box pop up.

I only used the service for a render once with Revit Architecture 2013. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.
I have just installed Illustrator 9.0, running on Windows 7. The install was fine but when I try to launch the program I receive the following 2 errors:
1) "Pencil or smooth tool out of memory. Try editing at a smaller zoom magnification".I click OK because that's the only option. The next error window occurs with:
2) "The filter cannot complete because of an unknown error" Error: IMEM.I click ok again because that's the only option.
Then the program crashes and I have to exit.
I opened a document and it popped up a messages asking if I want to revert to the saved version YES or NO. This is weird because I didn't try to open the document twice. I suspect it is a macro that was causing this problem but I have many so it could take a while to locate the culprit. I also suspect a windows 7 update may have caused an interference with the macro.Â
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to start Inventor is attempts to open and shows up in the active processes list for a few seconds.
Sometimes it will quit before the splash screen appears and sometimes a split second after it appears. No error messages or computer lag, it just simply quits. I'll list the steps I've taken so far. (Windows 7 64 bit)
Deleted the Cascadeinfo.cas file
I've had an error when my 3d connexion mouse trys to start so I uninstalled the drivers.
IT guy could open Inventor from his login on my computer but still not with mine.
Deleted Autodesk folder in the AppData folder and deleted the Cascadeinfo.cas again.
Did a "Repair" of Inventor.
Did a "Re-Install" of Inventor.
Nothing has worked yet and the only advice I'm finding is in regards to deleting the Cascadeinfo.cas file.
My thoughts are that the key to this problem is the fact that it works for other users on this machine. I just don't know what it is or how to fix it.
Have had 64-bit version running for 18 months or so on Windows 7 including Liquify Filter. After a recent Hard-disk crash and copied over files to new disk, it is no longer visible as an option on the menu list. (Ctrl-Shft-X does not work either). The file liquify.8bf is showing in my directory in the same filters directory as Lens Correction.8BF - which IS showing in the filters list.

PS: The menu option is not greyed out - it is not there any more.

Note: I tried renaming the file and renaming it back again, which is why it has a created date of today. The last accessed date of 2nd July was probably the last time it was used before or at the time of the crash - not sure exactly.

Is there a way to sort this problem out without a re-install. Or a good way to re-install without losing preferences - screen layouts etc.
I've read, in a Creative Pro, article that if u apply liquify to a layer and when u click ok on the window to apply the effects holding down the Shift key it saves the mesh in a temporary directory (for win user: ctemp --> i have it). And then if u want re-apply the same mesh just shift+click on filter-->liquify...but it doesn't work in ps7!! (the article in creative pro is for ps6)
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I use liquify, instead of showing the real time distortion it seems to put a square copy of about the same size as my brush of another portion of the layer. It's as if it is mirroring from the middle of the y-axis if that makes sense. It does distort but I have to hit invert (or other function buttons) to get it to show up and get the copied artifacts to dissapear.
