View 2 RepliesI have just installed my newly purchased PSC5 extended software. When I try to use the ACR it will load and I can use it but when I try to open, save or cancel my image I cannot. This is because the ACR window is too 'long' for my Sony desktop window and the buttons I am trying to access are in the 'shadow' of the desktop window. When I try to resize the ACR window to access the buttons it will let me adjust it on the vertical window edges but not on the horizontal window edges. I have to reboot the laptop to do anything at all.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAs a new user I really prefer the single window mode but have a real problem in that every time I open a filter the window/box that open opens up underneath the single window and I cant see it without minimising the main gimp window. I've played with the preferences windows management options and seem to have all the file options curves etc on top now (these were opening under the single window at one point) but nothing I do seems to want to make the filter boxes open where I can see them - It's making GIMP quite unpleasant to use.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI modified a Window Family file by adding a Window inset parameter. When I inserted the window into a wall, otherwise the window worked fine, but when I changed the window's Window Inset value, the frame depth changed instead of the frame's location. The frame was originally made by Sweep tool, but now when I made it by Extrusion tool, the window works fine. Anyway, for future purposes, I would like to know how to be able to use the Window Inset parameter with a frame made by Sweep tool. How do I lock the depth of the frame sweep?
The file is attached.
How do I change Gimp from a Multi-window view to a single window view?

I have two monitors and would like to be able to have another window / view open on the other monitor.
I accidently moved my channel window seperately, so there's a box for channels and theres a box for layers/paths.
How do I get it so the layers, paths, and channels are all in one window/box?
Sometimes, when I have two or more drawings open in the same instance of AutoCAD, another tab opens up on the Windows Taskbar. Here's the scenerio; I have two drawings open. On the task bar, Autocad's icon shows two drawings open. Somewhere while drawing, AutoCAD will start bogging down, especially when switching drawings. On the Window's Taskbar, it will now show three drawings open. Two of which will be the same drawing. There will only be two drawings open. The drawing which is currently on top for editing will be the one that shows up twice. If I change to the other drawing, it takes a really long time to swap. Sometimes, it will sit there for a minute and then swap back to the other first drawing on it's own. I try going back to the second drawing again, and the same thing happens again. The only way to stop this from happening is to completely shut down AutoCAD and restart it. I think it has something to do with the ribbon. And I also notice it more often after doing a CopyBase, but not always.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using the student edition of PS6 Extended. The settings are Window>Arrange>Float all in windows. There were two image boxes open, and both of them were plastered against the left side of the screen, and every time I grabbed one to move it, it slipped back to the left as soon as I released it, and in ever-increasing increments, to the point where I couldn't even see the picture anymore.

View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since CS4 came out I feel like I've been less productive in Photoshop due to annoying window dock/snapping. Windows are constantly sticking and resizing themselves in ways that blocks the work I am trying to do.
Also the main image itself automatically resizes to feet the work space and I find this also an annoyance. This is my main question: How can I disable "sticky" windows? In fact if there a way to get the old classic skin back that would be great, also...
because all the programs in CS4 are missing a handle bar at the top of the window, making it difficult to find a place to click to drag the window around...which also wastes time. Sometimes the classic skin is visible underneath buttons in graphic glitches..
Finally, is there a way to disable hardware acceleration completely? My processor is fast enough that it can complete tasks faster than the latency of accessing the GPU, so hardware acceleration actually slows things down. Also the hardware code has bugs in it that prevents me from opening massive images (eg, 21600 x 21600 image crashes).
This same thing was happening in Photoshop CS3 and I could never figure out why. I figured that since CS4 was coming out, I would buy it, stop using CS3 and the problem would be solved, well it's not. So far, I'm happy with the new program but for some reason, out of nowhere, while working on a photo, the Photoshop Help window (which opens as a web browser window) will pop up for no reason! Today, it popped up over 6 or 7 times and I nearly had to crash the program to get it to stop. I figured this problem would have been solved with the new version since the same thing was happening in CS3 but it hasn't. I'm running a Windows XP-based machine that I built myself about 2 years ago. I have a 512mb ATI Raedon X1650 video card and have 4GB of RAM so this machine has far more than enough power to run the program. I updated my video and mouse drivers prior to installing the program.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to setup photoshop CS3 so that you can drag documents around by selecting the top of the window, like you can in every other windows compatible application? You know like you could in every single other version of Photoshop?
I work on multiple documents at once and need to drag them around, CS3 does not allow you to do this. Being aloud to drag a window is no longer automatic. It requires way to much work I have to move the mouse over the leftmost small icon of the top of a window (which is usually obscured by the tool palette so I have to minimize that as well),
then I have click on the little icon, then scroll down to the move choice, now the window is able to be dragged - All these steps are talking way to long for working on multiple documents. Does anyone know of a way to just automatically allow a document to be dragged around in photoshop? The way it used to work in every other version up until CS3?
While I was creating image mapping for some images, I noticed that under "Target:....", there are four different things (_blank; _self; _parent; _top) and which one will make the link to pop up in a new browser window? (like separating from my website so the visitor will still see my website, not being directed to another page, making my website "disappeared").

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I go in to photoshop, and click to get to the color selection, the window that I am to select colors from is half cut-off, if that makes sense. In other words,
I cannot click cancel or okay, nor can I select my color. So I'm stuck with photoshop open until I close it with ctrl + alt + del.
I am trying to figure out a way to put 4 or 6 images on my screen and be able to move them around to compare them.
Am using Photoshop CS4 on PC and XP Home. I open 4 or 6 files and float all in windows. I then zoom out and make 1 image smaller, so it is smaller than the window. Then match zoom and location to get the zoom ratios the same. Now I have 4 or 6 images that are in windows that are larger than the image.
Is there any way I can make the windows smaller to be the same as the image other than do each one individually by dragging on the corner? Is there a shortcut to do this? Any way to adjust all the windows at once?
How do you let the history window hold more then 25 actions?

From the bottom right of the window I can collapse or expand the background window, yet it is stuck to the top of the menu bar. This is annoying because in order to access a finder window lying behind the Photoshop background window. I have to hide, Command H, Photoshop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing the ExtendScript Toolkit, it was clear that when photoshop loaded, ScriptUI was not getting created - any of the objects associated with ScriptUI returned undefined in the console, but the rest of ExtendScript was up and running. Even more odd was that these objects DID exist right up until you started Photoshop.
Turns out that our CS5 install has TWO copies of the ScriptingSupport.8li plug in - one in /Plug-ins/Extensions the other in /Plug-ins/Automate. Photoshop seems fine with multiple copies of a plugin, and only loads one of them. However, only the plugin in /Extensions has the additional ScriptUIFlexServer.swf, ScriptUIFlexServer-app.xml and ScriptUIFlexPhotoshop.swf files alongside it that appear to be necessary for ScriptUI to load properly. This appears to be a historical side-effect of the way we install CS, but it's a pretty easy situation to get into.
So, when Photoshop starts it chooses which of the plugins to load and if it loads the one in /Automate, ScriptUI is broken and anything that tries to open a window fails with Error 22.However, photoshop also caches the plugin locations, so once it's loaded the wrong one, it always does so, until you trash the preferences, whereupon it chooses which one to load again. This is why deleting the prefs works most of the time, even for our installation.
The real solution is to make sure you have only one plugin that has the ScriptUI files with it For us, this meant deleting ScriptingSupport.8li from /Plug-ins/Automate, but you might find you need to reinstall the ScriptUI files.

I have checked the general preference 'zoom resizes window' but it makes not a scrap of difference - whether I use the zoom tool (cmdZ) or via the space bar+cmd / alt route or by using cmd+ or cmd-
