View 3 RepliesI have a drawing where I need to open the layer manager to turn on a layer in a view port but cannot get to that particular column. As you look across the top of the layer manager I can see all the headings of each column beginning with "Name", "Status", "On" and so forth. The last column heading I see is "Description" but I need to go even further to the right to get to the column I need to be at but can't get there. There is no scroll button on the bottom of the layer manager which would allow me to do that.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have observed an unexpected behavior of mouse wheel zooming in CS3:
using the mouse wheel: when i zoom in (very closely) to some location near the image edges/corners and then zoom out /once/ (i.e. one mouse wheel "click"), the image zooms out and simultaneously the viewed region jumps a little towards the image center. this is kind of annoying since one has to move the image to see the desired location after zooming out a little.
So, when Adobe introduced the "brush preview" when using the Control+Option drag to change the brush size/hardness (not sure if it's called this way), I was ecstatic! It made my workflow much faster without having to go to the menu to change the brush size or to the bracket keys. Now on CS6 they added a feature that basically broke that for me. Now it not only shows the size/hardness, but it also shows the transparency. It sounds like a great idea, and it is when you work with bigger opacities, but I work a lot with opacities below 10% and it basically becomes invisible, so it's hard to know if I'm using a hard/soft brush when adjusting the brush size. Is there a way to turn just the transparency preview off?!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am prepping a character for cut-out animation, in Photoshop CS6. I am at a stage when i need to clean up layer edges (all the artwork is bitmap and created in Photoshop with brushes) I had tried zooming and rubbing out , any noticeable debris around the artwork, but i watched a tutorial where a person set up a function key which displayed a red border around the opaque parts of the layer, which is just what i need, for efficient clean-up.
Unfortunately, it wasn't explained in the tutorial how it was done. I have searched and searched, but i don't even know what the action is called in Photoshop that does that.
I use PS CS6 for Windows. When I select a layer by mean of Ctrl-Click on layers palette, selection edges is not shown. When I go to menu View > Show > Selection Edges i realize that option is disabled.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to turn grids into a layer? I know this can be done with the vanishing point filter but can it be done with normal grids? I ask because grids are very useful but at times get in the way. If I could create a layer of my grids I could then turn them on and off as needed.

Ive got like 300 layers, one of them being my main picture...this layer is all the way up in my list. When Im working on the bottom layers, I Have to scroll AAAAALLL the way up to turn on/off the visibility for that layer.. Is there a way to do this without scrolling up or down all the time?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with 3D Realistic/Conceptual Views in model space. Basically I will be working on a drawing and everything works fine when I switch to 3D realistic & conceptual modes and orbit - view looks perfect. Then a few days or maybe 10 minute later I do it again and the hidden edges suddenly are visible through 3D solids & the view looks awful. I have attached a screenshot of this issue and from reading a number of forums it appears that I am not alone in experiencing this, however I have not found a resolution. I am concerned that it could be my Graphics card but given that it is an nVidia Quadro FX3800 that is supposedly designed for ACAD I would be pretty upset! URL....
On the left is the problem in realistic view - on the right I have copied this into another file and on some drawings this fixes the issue - on some others I have to delete some background floorplans. It might be linked to the size of the drawings - I work on airport terminals so my drawings have floorplans of hundreds of meters...
I am having trouble in Photoshop CS6 trying to erase outer edges on a pasted video layer I have a short animated video I am working on but when I paste an animated video from file I cannot erase the outer edges because every time I try to do this it converts the pasted video to a smart object and then when I only gives the option to rasterize the pasted video layer, after it is rasterized it becomes a static image which dosent have any animation at all. Is there any way I can erase the edges around the video layer without this happening?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have supposedly disabled all the "snap" features in Photoshop, however, whenever I try to make minute transforms with the skew tool it always "snaps" (often closing a huge gap) to either it's previous vector, or one of the other points.
How do I stop this before I hit my head on the desk repeatedly in frustration?
Ctrl, etc., like with the move tool, does nothing differently.
Difficult to explain this in the title hense I haven't found an answer with a google search.
What it is, is that I have an image (a stud of an earring) that needs to be repeativly added to each image by hand at the moment I leave the image of the stud open and cut and paste it.
There must be an easier way to do this?
I was thinking I could turn it into a brush? I found the clone pattern but in the way I am using it, it doesn't work as I can't see is what my brush is to get it to line up.
Just experimenting with grading in photoshop - so far so awsome
Trouble is I often dupe the original video layer to apply effects and this appears to dupe the audio - rendering the final audio totally overblown and distorted. - is there a way to switch it off for a specific layer?
Is there any way to have Tangent Edges to show within all view's created on my idw automatically within the my template file or do I have to remember to double click on each of my created views per page, select display options and make sure Tangent Edges are checked on.

I create view representations with gas name and color the flow path for each gas in the named view. Is there a way to turn on all the colored overrides in one view to see all the various colors at once? I thought MASTER would show all colors but it does not. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have updated my RFA library to RY2013 (from RY2011, RY2008 before).
Inside Revit (full, Bulilding Design Suite), the preview pane of the "edit type" window shows for the updated component families the sun path circle centered in a position which is far from the insertion point of the component, always got as intersection of 3 strong reference planes with "define origin" checked. Because of this, the preview of the component is not immediately available and several zoom in operations are needed to give a look to the component. This is the case for 3D views and plan views.
The sun path cannot be turned off and also the origin of the sun path cannot be moved inside the family file.
Any solution for the single component family?
Is there a way to batch turn off the sun path circle in every view of each family of the library and also to move the origin of the sun path circle to the insertion point of the family?

View 6 Replies View RelatedHow can I turn it off permanently? Or change the default to off? It's always on when I open my drawings.
I save the files with it off, but when I reopen, it's still on. A real pain in the butt when plotting since if I batch plot, all of my contours are off, which eliminates using batch plot entirely. Luckily, I only have 5 figures at the moment, but once we get to design phase I will have many more and require batch plotting.
I'm using civil3d 2013, I have never run into this before with any other versions.
I recently upgraded from 2007 to 2012 and the entire look and feel of the program is different. Like Microsoft, AutoCad has "upgraded" everything so overnight i have managed to go from marginally competent to totally inept!
I really really would like to know if it is possible to switch back to the classic view with the old tool bars and commands.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSelection layer edges of a particular wall,
It is really exhaustive when it comes to select an edge of a layer of a wall. For example, if we need to align a column in the wall in the correct space, we need to select the corresponding edge of layer of the wall (indicated in the screenshots below). It really takes time just to select this edge (hovering + TAB).
