I have a large number of images in my Dell 8250 (>12,000) Lately when I try to start PS7 it crashes when it hits "Sorting fonts" Am also having trouble with Outlook Express crashing when I try to attach image file to an e-mail. Have uninstalled and reinstalled PS7 four times to no avail. Any suggestions appreciated. 512mb memory. 120gig Hard disc.

But Photoshop chokes on them when loading and its performance goes to nothing causing it to freeze/take very long times to do anything (I had to let it startup over night).
I'm assuming its trying to do some big operation with them at start up. Does anyone know of anything that might might fix photoshop (CS) into skipping or avoiding what ever it is it does with fonts that makes it so slow when given a large amount?
Obviously the apparent solution would be to remove the fonts and I would if it were all the programs acting up, but it's just photoshop and im hoping there is some easy option fix :/.
I've downloaded some fonts and I placed them all into the Fonts folder in my Windows directory, but none of the new fonts that I have doesn't show up in the font drop down menu in my PS 7. Am I supposed to place them in the Adobe directory or what did I or what was I supposed to do?

I tried loading Adobe Photoshop/Imageready. During the loading, once it gets to "loading color preferences" it shuts itself down. I have tried reinstalling, restoring, rebooting, repeating. And I can't seem to fix the problem. Today I decided to search the adobe site for troubleshooting guides. All I could find, told me to find and remove my preferences file. So i searched, and searched. I can't find it anywhere. I removed Adobe and everything Adobe from my computer, and tried again to reinstall. During the loading I recieved this dialog box.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just bought Photoshop CS4 upgrade (have CS2) and 1) it now crashes when I try to load any image, 2) it says my first seriel number from CS2 is invalid and 3) it shows I have CS3 Extended. What is the EASIEST and QUICKEST way to get a refund on this since I do not feel like tackling three major issues at once! I just want to go back to CS2 and refund my 185 bucks! By the way, I did a CS4 trial a month ago and had the same crashing issue when trying to load an image as I am now.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI've been using Adobe products for over a decade and have never seen an issue like this. It just won't load. I've uninstalled, used the clean tool & reinstalled - rebooting prior to each step - and I can't get photoshop to load past the 'loading brushes...' message in the opening loading graphic. Prior to the issue I was playing with extendscript and loading them into PS, but I've since deleted all scripts and, as mentioned, wiped the entire suite.

When I load a gile it crashes. I've only tried loading JPG's. I have also uninstalled and re-installed it.

However, when I build a new catalog, it oftens crashes. I have disabled all the analyzer functions but keeps recurring. I have been successful in building a small catalog consisting of approximately 400 JPGs. However, larger catalogs aren't successful.

View 14 Replies View RelatedOne of our Autocad Map 3D 2011 users is having the problem that custom fonts aren't automatically loading anymore, and when they use a command that draws a line with a custom linetype it is always drawn as continuous. This is a recent problem and the fonts used to load automatically as well as the linetypes drawn correctly. It isn't a problem with the linetypes not being loaded in the drawing because after using the custom command they are able to go to the layer and change the linetype to the correct one fixing the problem.

I have a basic system folder I use to turn on only the ones I need. This speeds up my Corel but then when I went to open Photoshop, the program crashes and won't open. When I went to a restore point, the photoshop programs opens, of course, all 800 fonts are loaded slowing down my Corel again. I took them out again, carefully leaving what I thought to basic fonts the program may be calling for. But I did not get the right one. I have been turning off and turning on back and forth to get it to work. Only when I load the all again, does it work. As soon as I remove them, its back to not working!

At first I thought it was a bad install, so I uninstalled and reinstalled and it still won't open. Norton AV was turned off during both installs. I have searched and see that quite a few users have the same problem but I haven't found a cause or solution. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit, Intel i7, 16 GB ram.
View 13 Replies View Related I have the entire subscription of  'Corel 6X'. I have been using it for a few months with no problems, even after I did the 8.1 update. Now all programs will load and run except for 'Draw 6X', it starts to load and then it will start to 'load environment' and then crash. As I said above, every other part of the suite open and run fine.
 I can give you no information about updates or version as it won't load so I could check for updates. I searched for other post, and it returned no other similar problems listed for 'Draw 6X'. If I get no answers I'll just un/re install that program itself and see if that fixes things.
I am on a Dell PC with plenty of everything running Win 8.1 64 bit and running the online yearly subscription of 'CorelDraw 6X' 64 bit version that was up to date and working fine on 8.1 fine for more than a month. Now the 'splash' screen shows and gets to 'loading environment' and then the quaint Win window comes out 'There is a problem and windows has to close this program'.

why our copies of AutoCAD MEP 2012 seem to hang when loading the default dwt files? On the splash screen it details all the files being loaded and when it gets to the dwt file it just hangs at 0%. In the windows task manager, acad.exe stops using memory (around 90megs) and the cpu stops too. It's get's really frustrating, especially as it only seems to affect our new Dell Optiplex's and a couple of our old Dell Precisions. Some of them work first time every time, no probs. All PC's are Windows 7 Pro 64bit and running the latest service packs for AutoCAD.

After downloading the Autodesk Inventor 2013, I was forced to download the hotfix. I completed the download, and started up Inventor. My force closed crash report directed me to the most updated update, which I then installed to no avail. I've sent an additional crash report, but I've yet to recieve any feedback. When I go to either load the .ipt blank file, or even close the welcome center tab (to be able to access the tools to troubleshoot) It shuts down.

I will get the splash screen and the application background will momentarily appear with "AutoCAD 2011" in the title bar then it will all disappear with no visible error message. So I am running x6 ver. 16.3.0.114 and we use Corel for all of our artwork designs. However just as of yesterday, I am consistently crashing any time I add/alter and sort of text. Sometimes it's as simple as trying to change the font from the object properties tab. Others is as soon as I try to paste text into the program. I have had no issues up until yesterday.
No new programs were installed to my knowledge. Nothing was changed on my computer. Corel has simply spazzed out.Â
I am using a MAC OS version 10.6.8 and ESTK 3.6. When I open ESTK the font is very small and I want to make it larger. I go to ExtendScript ToolKit>Preferences when I click Fonts and Colors the program crashes and sends an error report to Apple.Â

300 pics need to be sorted chronologically the batch renamed 01-300. What's the best way? Photoshop? Bridge (spent 4 hours in bridge and it qite during batch rename, thus lost the whole new order) or lightroom?
