How do you use the browser to sort by Date Taken??? Not Date Created or Date Modified but by the actual Date the photo was taken?
Reason is I have images from two cameras that were synced at the same event and I want to keep the chronological order.
I've got to sort out photos taken from multiple cameras by Date and Time Taken so I can renumber them 1 to xxxxx in the order the shots were taken. Have done this a few times but have completely forgotten how.
I know the Browser can sort by Date Created and Date Modified but that does not relate to Date Taken.
When I want to open a file, I click on file | open and the dialog box pops up. I like to have files sorted by date with the first on top. Something happened that it does not show the files first. It's showing the folders in descending order then the files. What do I need to do to make it show the files first?
I'm using CorelDraw X5 on Windows 7 64-bit.
I've imported scanned photos into LR4 and have changed the capture dates to reflect the original capture date of each photo imported. My LR Library is sorted by Date folders. How do I automatically get these photos sorted into their respective date folders?

When I have attempted to search for a specific date or year, however, nothing comes up. I've created a new album on the right hand side under "Organize" and just the photos I want are in there. When I look at the folder on the right, all the pictures are there. But I can't call up just that folder; instead what I get on my screen is all 2500 photos in all my photo albums! Not what I want! What I want to get is all the photos in the order in which they were taken on the actual day as all 500 photos were taken at the same day. And I want to be able to view just the 500 photos in that folder by the time those pictures were taken. But, when I imported the second batch of photos it showed the date the file was created rather than the date the photo was taken so, basically, I've got one batch of photos showing the date they were taken (which I downloaded via a link a few days later), and one showing the date they were copied!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently set up Elements 12. Prior to this I used elements 11. In that catalog I have more photos that I don't want. So I decided to export the ones I want then import into PSE 12. As I do this many of the dates on the pictures change from the date taken to the current date. I have tried several different ways and can't stop the dates changing. I am putting them into mobile albums in PSE 12 if that makes a difference.

Only thing I can think of is I reinstalled 3dsmax Design and I wonder if that changed something. I attached a screenshot for reference.

Has it become a possible option to automatically grab the Date-of-shoot (instead of the DAYToday) when renaming files (that should show shooting- date) in LR5?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhy does the capture date in the metadata panel not match the capture date seen in the grid extra view and how do I fix it? The images that I have in my library are digitized negatives and I've corrected the capture dates and times to be accurate; however, the capture date and in the metadata window shows what I've changed it to and the date in both the grid extra view and the Metadata>Edit Capture Time... options both reflect the date the image was last modified. Not all of the images in my library are this way and some show the correct information. When sorted by Capture Time, all images fall exactly where they should in the proper order (based on the changed, corrected edit time and not the modified date). I saved metadata to the file with the new date but it didn't fix it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have lots of pictures around 3000+ and I need to remove the duplicates. There has to be a better way than just eye balling through them all and removing them manually. Can I sort of pictures by colour profiles so that if photoshop scans an image and recognizes the colour trend or whatever and tries to find another picture in the same folder with the same or similar colour profile and group them so I can see if they match or not?

This is a fundamental expectation of any file management program and was present in all of my previous versions (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10). Alpjhabetic sorting is critical when files are re-named or re-created and the name sequence no longer follows the date sequence.
I will compliment Adobe for promptly refunding me purchase, but after using PSE/PrE for 9 years, I would really like to be able to continue with their upgrades.
I am using Photoshop Elements 8 and I successfully created and saved 3 albums and copied them to my IPAD using ITUNES. They were in the correct sorted sequence. I then went back and tried to make a best of show album with my 3 star pictures and every time I sort them and save them (with Done), they go back to the original sequence (not the one I want and I saved!). The 3 albums I created earlier are now out of sequence as well and cant be resorted either.
View 3 Replies View Relatedin PSE9 I could sort an album by date of the picure and then afterwards change locations of single pictures. This was extremely convinient to me. Now I upgraded to PSE11 and I can sort pictures in an album either by date or album order. But if I sort by date, I cant use this as start and only change locations of single pictures afterwards. If I want to do my own order, I need to start from scratch, use the initial order of the album and mover almost every picture.
Do I miss anything or is this functionality from PSE9 really simply gone?
Just bought Photoshop Elements because we need to sort out the 1000's of photos that are currently stored on an external hard drive.
There isn't enough room on the C drive to import these.
Can I sort them and keep them on the external drive?

Some of them are, but as far as I can see, they are first sorted by language, then alphabetically. Can this be turned off? I think this is common to all versions of Illustrator.

2. Is there a program which will separate out Gothic, Roman, Script, Poster, Fancy, Serif, non-Serif,and any other special characteristics. Then put them in separate folders.
3. I can't get Bitstream Navigator or Typograph to do this for me.
PS: My computer has over 6,000 fonts and about 800 in the Windows Fonts folder. It's bewildering.

If I manipulate any point, or select a point group, or perform ANY action involving points in my drawings, a "Sorting" progress bar appears in the lower left hand corner of the screen, and if it's a drawing with a substantial amount of point data, it can/will lock my computer up.
