View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to find a way how to insert a point or a * on the center point of a hole and put it on a different layer. The reason for this is - I am a CAD tech for a welding shop and we cut parts out of steel and we use the dxf file format for our plasma table to cut parts. For example : if i have a 1 inch thick plate and want to put a 3/4'' hole in the plate the hole will be distorted because the hole is smaller than the material thickness. For these situation we can use the plasma table to burn a point or a dot on the center point of the hole. But to do this the point or dot must be on a different layer in the dxf.

For example, my text begins horizontally, continues to the right, and gradually curves downward. As the text curves downward I would like it to taper smoothly into a narrower and narrower text.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop / Illustrator, when I create a polygon, and rotate it around it's center point it wobbles. When I scribe it inside of a perfect circle, and rotate it around the circle's center point it rotates smoothly. Basically proving that (at least according to these Adobe products) that the center point of a circle is different than the center point of a polygon scribed inside of it.
An image – the dots in the center are the corresponding center points according to Adobe:

This is incorrect according to basic math. Is Adobe aware of this bug?
All I have found so far, shows me how to hand draw a complex shape. I just need a circle. I can do this in a few minutes in CorelDRAW and Illustrator.
You must be able to do it in PhotoShop. The end result is - I want it to work like a ship porthole. All you can see is what is behind the port window.
how to make text run in a complete circle, Photoshop seems to only do it in a semi circle.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSay I have a circle. I want to grab I assume the top anchor point, and drag it down. The resulting shape would roughly be a fat U, or maybe like a mushroom head turned upside down. I thought it was hold spacebar and click but it doesn't seem to be.
View 3 Replies View Relatedhow to match up certain points. I have imported 2 point clouds and have tried to use the 'align' tool to specify three points from the source object (cloud) and three points from the destination object (cloud). When doing this, it does not properly align them. The point cloud makes it difficult to select the exact point I would like to align, since there may not be a point at that exact location, but close to it. Does AutoCAD require the points in alignment to match up perfectly or is it capable of doing a best fit?
Also, is AutoCAD capable of creating a solid 3D piece from the point cloud? I would like to take all of my points and make a smooth object.
I would like to know how to make something like what I attach below. Its a circle with radius 112, touching a point on the corner, and the circle must touch some point on the line above precisely.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have updated my RFA library to RY2013 (from RY2011, RY2008 before).
Inside Revit (full, Bulilding Design Suite), the preview pane of the "edit type" window shows for the updated component families the sun path circle centered in a position which is far from the insertion point of the component, always got as intersection of 3 strong reference planes with "define origin" checked. Because of this, the preview of the component is not immediately available and several zoom in operations are needed to give a look to the component. This is the case for 3D views and plan views.
The sun path cannot be turned off and also the origin of the sun path cannot be moved inside the family file.
Any solution for the single component family?
Is there a way to batch turn off the sun path circle in every view of each family of the library and also to move the origin of the sun path circle to the insertion point of the family?
How can I distribute multiple objects without distorting them on a circle path?
I have a few objects that I want to distribute to a circle line. I've tried scatter brush (looked horrible) , pattern brush (what you see here). No matter what I do, those objects are distorted.
Clients may want objects to be as many as 30 or 40, so I hope to avoid switching the objects manually.
Is there a way to add a Corner Anchor Point to an exisiting path. The Add Anchor Point tool always creates a smooth point, which I then have to go back and convert to a corner point. Seems to me, in earlier versions, I was able to use the Pen tool, then hold ALT and click twice to achieve this. CS6 doesn't respond to that procedure. Is there some other trick?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to extrude a circle around a path in all dimensions, so I drew my path in lines, filleted the corners then tried to join using the PEDIT - Join command.
Firstly, the join says something like "2 segments added to 2 polylines" when really all I want is 1 polyline.
Second, when I try to insert my circle for extrusion I OSNAP to the end of the line, then when I specify the radius it draws in the wrong plane. So far the only way I have gotten around it is rotating the ucs. Is there an easy way to do this? my Dynamic UCS is on.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI need my users to pick a point p, enter a distance r and a direction v. A new point should be created r units away in vectorial direction. Therefore, the new point is located on an imaginary circle with radius r and center p.
Currently, the user picks the first point and enters a distance. Then, he has to pick another point (Editor.GetPoint with UseBasePoint = true), I calculate the vector between both points, create a new point (with location = BasePoint.location) and translate it d units in vectorial direction. This works of course, but the problem is, that the user doesn't see directly, where his new point is located, since he may pick a point closer to or farther away then r units.
Naively spoken, I want to restrict the line between BasePoint and new point while prompting the user to a fixed length. Native calls to ObjectARX-methods would be also okay.
How to move circle -centerpoint- to the middle of distance between two rectangles?
I am using autocad 2013.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have been bringing points directly into a 2012 Civil 3d drawing using the same method for quite a while. We use a numeric descriptor code and the points are filtered correctly. In this particular drawing, one description code was singled out and "locked" in the drawing. The points and symbol show in the drawing slightly muted but when I try to edit the points I am unable to do so. I have tried the "unlock" command with no result. The symbol displayed by the point number is a red circle over a pencil.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to locate exact center of a circle in after effects? I made a perfect circle in photo editing program and since layer's boundaries corresponded to circle's edges, i thought that anchor point in after effects will be exactly at the center. but it's not the case - the anchor point is at the center of a composition!
I imported the circle .psd layer together with other layers as a composition, does this have any importance? As i said, the circle layer boundaries corresond with circles edges, not with canvas' edges in my photo editing program. But whe i solo the circle layer, i see that the anchor point is at the center of a composition, not the layer.
So now i have to place anchor point at the center manualy, and it's pretty difficult to do it perfectly. when i rotate the circle, it wobbles and wobbles.
