View 7 RepliesLet's say I've cut a circle in half, and then placed both halves on either side of the art board. Is there a way I can align them back right next to each other so that they appear as a circle once again?
None of the tools in the "align" window allow me to do that.
I'm trying to add a stroke that's aligned to the outside of my path. It appears to be offsetting the stroke *and* moving anchor points at the same time. It does the same kind of thing when I align the stroke to the inside. It is fine when i align the stroke to center. The one that is offset to the top-left is the align-inside one.

View 9 Replies View RelatedHow can I distribute multiple objects without distorting them on a circle path?
I have a few objects that I want to distribute to a circle line. I've tried scatter brush (looked horrible) , pattern brush (what you see here). No matter what I do, those objects are distorted.
Clients may want objects to be as many as 30 or 40, so I hope to avoid switching the objects manually.
I created a simple symbol from a circle with a cross inside (two rectangles). The symbol has two states labelled "normal" and "over" in which background colors change : on mousover and mouseout on the circle, sym.stop("over"); and sym.stop("normal"); respectively.
The problem : "over" when the cursor hovers over the circle, but back to "normal" when it hovers over the cross. The API suggests to use mouseenter and mouseleave to avoid child elements of the symbol interrupt the mouse event. I tried it, but the behavior is the same.
Is there any JavaScript solution (I'm a beginner, coming from AS3), or should I bypass with two flattened graphics "normal" and "over" ?
I have 2 rectangles and i want to loft them by path.I want the path to be arc , but i cant draw the arc in isometric view. The objects are positioned something like thes 2 smiles. Occasionally paragraph allignment works opposite for left & right align, usually on Illustrator documents with Russian type.
In additon on center align text I set my cursor to input a period at the end of a sentence, and the period instead gets added to the beginning.
In character palette language is set to English USA, this is point text.
I created a new point text and this is happening, if I paste text from another document alignment works fine, font is Arial black but happens with all fonts.
i have line path - bit bended and i want a text-baseline to follow that path, can this be done in photoshop ?
also, what if i have two such line paths -bit different - can i somehow -fit- the text among-between those two.
I want to do the centre akignment of text fiit to path. when i m selecting the text , the alignment is already showing the left aklign as default. it dosent work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing the Roland GX-24 plotter to cut vinyl and the Illustrator print to plotter plug-in, the program refused to cut rectangles. (with the exception of lower case i's) This includes Capital I's, lower case l's, hyphens and rectangles using the rectangle tool.
All other letters have no issue cutting. So long as they're not a single rectangle. This anomaly was experienced using several files, tested on old and new. So its not an issue with the file.
picking up Illustrator again and the first thing I did was create and fill a few rectangles.
However, the rectangles have a gray border to them.
How can I take a shape with a gradient like in the attached image, and make it so other shapes like the series of rectangles mask the gradient so the gradient only shows through the rectangles?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't know all the possibility to model all 3d forms. Particulary, I have big problems to model 2 intersected caverns: I tried to model them with rhinoceros or other 3d software and then import the model into revit, but this cause some problems with the export to autocad (problems of visualization). I prefer modelling the intersected cavern directly into revit.

I'm working in a windows environment and have Illustrator CS4. Any scripts out there that might give me a start?

I have this weird problem in Revit 2013. My walls that used to be joined with or intersected with other walls (now moved/ deleted) still bear holes/cuts in them matching the walls that joinded/intersected with them. I've tried to shorten the length beyond the holes and then extending the wall again, but as soon as the wall extends beyond the same point, the hole appears in it. Even when you delete the wall and draw a new one, the hole reappears exactly in the same area of the new wall, like there's an invisible wall intersecting it. There is no hidden wall there...I checked. The only way to remove the hole is to move the wall away from the area, which I can't anyway. What's the cause of this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have updated my RFA library to RY2013 (from RY2011, RY2008 before).
Inside Revit (full, Bulilding Design Suite), the preview pane of the "edit type" window shows for the updated component families the sun path circle centered in a position which is far from the insertion point of the component, always got as intersection of 3 strong reference planes with "define origin" checked. Because of this, the preview of the component is not immediately available and several zoom in operations are needed to give a look to the component. This is the case for 3D views and plan views.
The sun path cannot be turned off and also the origin of the sun path cannot be moved inside the family file.
Any solution for the single component family?
Is there a way to batch turn off the sun path circle in every view of each family of the library and also to move the origin of the sun path circle to the insertion point of the family?
I recently invested in CS6 Production Premium and I've just tested legacy support by saving an Illustrator CS6 image in CS4 format.
The image contains a number of semi-transparent gradient meshes used for highlights.
Having loaded the saved CS4 .ai file in CS6, white lines appear along my semi-transparent gradient meshes (see the attached screenshot).
What's happening is that the anchor points with 0% opacity in CS6 suddenly have 100% opacity when I load the saved CS4 files in CS6.
Is this a known error? If so, how/where do I report it?
Here are the relevant CS6 and CS4 files: [URL] ....
There are no white lines when I save the image in CS5 format and load it in CS6.
In PS CS4, my path turns into a selection using the dashed circle at the bottom of the paths palette; however, it is the inverse of the path. How do I have the default be the selection sams as the path?
