View 2 RepliesI need to find a way how to insert a point or a * on the center point of a hole and put it on a different layer. The reason for this is - I am a CAD tech for a welding shop and we cut parts out of steel and we use the dxf file format for our plasma table to cut parts. For example : if i have a 1 inch thick plate and want to put a 3/4'' hole in the plate the hole will be distorted because the hole is smaller than the material thickness. For these situation we can use the plasma table to burn a point or a dot on the center point of the hole. But to do this the point or dot must be on a different layer in the dxf.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI did it earlier, but now everytime I try "alt-click" to make the light blue cross hairs, nothing happens. I am trying to make a gear in illustrator and this is a key componant.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop / Illustrator, when I create a polygon, and rotate it around it's center point it wobbles. When I scribe it inside of a perfect circle, and rotate it around the circle's center point it rotates smoothly. Basically proving that (at least according to these Adobe products) that the center point of a circle is different than the center point of a polygon scribed inside of it.
An image – the dots in the center are the corresponding center points according to Adobe:

This is incorrect according to basic math. Is Adobe aware of this bug?
I need to find the center of a circle that is tangent to another circle and a point on a line. I cannot use tangent tangent radius.

Eating up a lot of my time simply because I can't select or convert or add the anchor.

I cannot erase certain point styles/label styles in Civil 3D. Why is this, and is there a way I can?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to layer them in such a way that the orage circle below is put in front of the green circle. Essentially, I need to select only the part of the orange circle and bring it to the front while leaving the other part of the circle alone. Can this be done in Illustrator?
In summary, this is what I am trying to accomplish: Green over blueBlue over yellowYellow over orangeOrange over Green
Also, is there a way to use a tool inside of illustrator to arrange the locations so they are all 100% perfectly alligned and meeting in the middle without "eyeballing" it?
Is there any way I can erase the same exact point on multiple layers with one click of the eraser, rather than doing it on each layer individually (and having to line up that same point again)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was doing the following steps when I encountered this problem:
1) I created a V shape with the Pen Tool.
2) After having changed my default selection tool to the Direct Selection Tool (so that I can use it later), I used the Convert Anchor Point Tool (Shift-C) to drag at the V junction to change it to more of a U shape & thus also creating a Smooth Point there, like this:
3) Then I grabbed one of the direction handles & dragged it a bit to make it a Cusp point. Like this:
As soon as I did this, the other direction handle disappeared & the anchor point also became deselected.
4) So I temporarily switched to the selection tool (the Direct Selection Tool in my case) by holding down the Cmd key and clicked on the anchor point.
Result: As soon as I clicked on the anchor point to select it and also make the other direction handle visible, the anchor point became a smooth one & the shape of the path changed dramatically - i.e., the cusp point I created was gone (see fig.)
and I had to rework on the changed path.
Is this expected? BTW, I'm working in Illustrator CS6 (Mac).
drawing a circle path with one point and dragging or something like this.

When i use array between them to create 9 more lines, some lines are becomes bigger then the original line. why this happen? I attach a file to be understand clearly. Zoom the intersection point of lines and the circle.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI need my users to pick a point p, enter a distance r and a direction v. A new point should be created r units away in vectorial direction. Therefore, the new point is located on an imaginary circle with radius r and center p.
Currently, the user picks the first point and enters a distance. Then, he has to pick another point (Editor.GetPoint with UseBasePoint = true), I calculate the vector between both points, create a new point (with location = BasePoint.location) and translate it d units in vectorial direction. This works of course, but the problem is, that the user doesn't see directly, where his new point is located, since he may pick a point closer to or farther away then r units.
Naively spoken, I want to restrict the line between BasePoint and new point while prompting the user to a fixed length. Native calls to ObjectARX-methods would be also okay.
How to move circle -centerpoint- to the middle of distance between two rectangles?
I am using autocad 2013.
how can you get the last point you picked on a Circle because I was going to run the TTR and use the tanget command and have it exit and I need to get the point I pick on the circle

Is there a way the “Osnap” can “feel” the tangent of the "circle point style"?I’m wondering if there is a way that the “Osnap” can feel the circle “point style” (given in the screenshot below) such that it is snapped to its tangent?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have been bringing points directly into a 2012 Civil 3d drawing using the same method for quite a while. We use a numeric descriptor code and the points are filtered correctly. In this particular drawing, one description code was singled out and "locked" in the drawing. The points and symbol show in the drawing slightly muted but when I try to edit the points I am unable to do so. I have tried the "unlock" command with no result. The symbol displayed by the point number is a red circle over a pencil.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to locate exact center of a circle in after effects? I made a perfect circle in photo editing program and since layer's boundaries corresponded to circle's edges, i thought that anchor point in after effects will be exactly at the center. but it's not the case - the anchor point is at the center of a composition!
I imported the circle .psd layer together with other layers as a composition, does this have any importance? As i said, the circle layer boundaries corresond with circles edges, not with canvas' edges in my photo editing program. But whe i solo the circle layer, i see that the anchor point is at the center of a composition, not the layer.
So now i have to place anchor point at the center manualy, and it's pretty difficult to do it perfectly. when i rotate the circle, it wobbles and wobbles.
You have a dwg with multiple sets of different blocks and a circle you want to place on the insert point of each set blocks.
You select the circle then select one of the blocks in the set and the circle is placed on the insert point of each of the blocks in that set. It would save time from doing it manually and save on mistakes.
