trying to upgrade my PS skills and working thru a PS CS book. I am working on a Layer session. The books shows a column that they call Layer Link mode. I is just to the right of the Visibility column.

I meant the right column. The main things in the palette I am looking for are: exposure, shadows, clarity, saturation, vibrance, etc.
I am trying to generate a parts list that will contain a stock number from the BOM.
When I go to customize my parts list I cannot add a stock number as it's not on the list of properties available.
Is there any chance to add other properties? (i am aware that I can add a custom property but it won't be linked to my BOM.
Possible to link an xref layer and local layer so they display the same (eg. sync viewport colour, linewieght, line type)?
I insert xref's for my base drawing but legend is on local layers and I would like to be able to ensure that the line colour and linetype always match...
I can't open AI on C6 (error message : link file missing) but I can open same AI on C2 without any error , why is that so ?

It can't be relinked or removed since it no longer exists. It is has been a phantom for as long as I have been using the AI file and I would like to clear the "Could not find the linked file" pop up every time I load the AI file.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have an InDesign document with one missing image.The strange thing is that this image is not (longer) placed in the document. The links palette also can't tell me where the placeholder for that missing element is: There is no page number shown in the links palette, there are no elements beside the pages or on the master pages. There just don't seem to be any placeholder containing that image!Selecting the missing image on the links palette and clicking on the "go to image" button doesn't work - nothing happens.I also tried to the relink the image to a file that's existent, but the relink button doesn't work here as well.
After that I placed a file with the same name at the path InDesign expects it but now the links palette shows the link as modified and I'm also not able to refresh it.Something seems to be stuck.
Would have saved the document as .idml but unfortunately it's a document in our content management system and saving it as .idml will result in loosing all article links.Because of the content management system I'm also not able to get a PDF out of that document because MadeToPrint / InDesign Server throws an error for all documents with missing or modified links.
Most annoying thing, the VP Freeze and New VP Freeze columns in the Layer Properties Manager keep resetting themselves to original position. I've done all the proflie stuff, re-save it after changing it, re-load it when I find the error, etc.. and still it reverses every time I restart AutoCAD.
What is it with the columns in dialog boxes? I've posted how the column widths in the File Dialog box reset everytime too. How they don't follow windows folder options. Is this some Windows issue or AutoCAD issue?
I have a Biped which had a number of .BIP files added then mixed down. All of these have been removed however there are 2 which are still hanging around and can not find any reference to them anywhere. maybe a script exist which removes all of these?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI regularly work on large Photoshop files with many layers and folders within folders and always have the problem moving a folder only to find that somewhere inside there was a layer with an unlinked mask and it gets left behind. Is there a way i can 'relink all layer masks' without having to manually go through and relink them all? Similar to the 'Close all folders' option i guess...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just upgraded from Photoshop7 to CS2 and have noticed that the 'link' option have been removed from the 'Layer Window' (the little box which was next to the 'eye' that you could check to select certain layers and then manipulate those particular layers together like free transform, flatten etc.)
I normally use this feature alot and cannot find another way of doing it, is it possible to reinstate this feature or does anyone know a way of still doing this within CS2?
sometimes i open an Illustrator file with a missing image link. I have many image folders depending on the job and it would be great to be able to copy and paste the photo very long text to search for it in my HD.

In Bill of material i have custom PartQty column and is beside QTY column. I need all informations from QTY column to PartQty column to copy. Possible with iLogic? I'm selecting now manualy copy and paste but it would be nice to have automatic.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to publish to the CC a guide rail. The vendor of the rail gives me the option of entering the desired length of the rail. After that he gives me the option to choose between the length that I entered and a shorter and longer standard length witch can be delivered faster.
I want to do the same thing with my published part, but I cannot make a key parameter to change depending on the entered custom parameter. I want the user to make the next steps when inserting from the CC: 1- select the size of the rail; 2-select the type of the rail; 3- enter the desired length of the rail; 4- choose between the desired length and the 2 recommended lengths (I need these 3 lengths to be shown)
Is this possible?
A link on page 1 opens page 3. Is there anyway to have this link also open a popup layer on page 3 when it opens the page?

Layer Style presets seem not to function with Groups.
Unable to apply LS preset to Group.
(Able to apply LS preset to art layer.)
I'm messing around with tables and data links, practicing. I copied a range of cells in Excel, and did paste special to create a linked table.
Now I can delete the table object, but I cannot delete the link, cannot detach it.
When in Data Manager if I right click on the data link and click delete I get the error message "The data link is being used and cannot be deleted".
I have tried detaching, and the detach does not seem to take.
Now also, the table will not update from the source xls.
Win XP, AcadLT 2011, Office 2010. Using compatible setting for saving spreadsheet, for Office 2007 (not xlsx).
If I create a linked table by starting with the Table icon, choose "from a data link", choose the excel spreadsheet, etc., then I am able to later update the table from the spreadsheet, detach, delete the link, etc. But I can only delete the link if the table is not selected when I open the Data Link Manager.
But the one that was created following the directions from the Autocad video, with the copy, paste special, that link will not detach nor delete.
I've downloaded gimp 2.6 recently and everything about it is great besides the fact that I dont have a layer box. I've tried all the tricks that people say, press ctrl + L or go to windows>recently closed docs.... When I tried recently closed docs it says empty.

When i open gimp up at the top of the window it says GNU image manipulation program.
I had recently encountered a problem where I couldn't get the layer tool (F7) to show up. The "delete AI Pref" course of action didn't work for me. To cut the story short, this is what I did to get it working.

I have created a short 4 second comp and it all plays back fine until I actually try to render it. I've tried rendering the layer on it's own in a seperate comp and it disappears then as well and just becomes a white screen, but the original one when put into a comp works fine. I've spent hours editing it and putting it in place so i really don't want to start again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am missing the icons for the "ON/OFF", "FREEZE", and "LOCK" in the Layer Properties Manager in AutoCAD 2010. Recently upgraded computer to 64-bit and had to re-install 2010. Since then, it takes forever to reload the Properties Manager. Adding new layers, trying to turn layers on/off, freeze layers, etc. causes the Manager to reload. The file I am working with is only 75 kb, tiny in comparison to files I usually work with. My co-worker has a 64-bit and 2010 as well, and her Properties Manager is working just fine. Do I have to reload 2010?
