I recolored a set of emotion icons to yellow without any problems. The example is attachment 01.png. However, I failed to do the same with the icon 02.png. I'm struggling with the gradient. I'm using Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer but I don't know how to set it properly so the icon itself is yellow but the blushing is retained reddish.

Most of the GIF is a solid color that I want to change from one color to another. I know the before background color (in this case blue) and after background color (in this case green). However, there are many shades of varation in the gradient that I hope can switch from a shade of blue to a shade of green automatically.
I've played with the Image > Adjust > Replace Color options, but can't seem to figure out how to exactly change the background color from the old one to the exact new one that I want.
I can't recolor white to transparent with the recolor tool, is this a bug? is there any other way to do it? :?:

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'd like to select the whole gradient that I have created on its own layer. So I cmd-click (Mac) on the layer's icon. But after doing this not the whole gradient is selected but only the darkest part of it!
With every other layer it worked so far... But not with gradients...
When I loaded some photo actions into my new PSE11 it show only a generic icon in the effects palette, not the icon from the maker so it takes extra time to search for the action I need. How can I get the icon from the maker to show as the icon in the palette?

I'm choosing the color I want to replace and then choosing a color out of my swatch to replace it with and when the color loads onto my image it doesn't look anything like the color i chose. View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been experiencing problems with the Gradient editor since I got PS and the problem is that whenever I create a gradient through the gradient editor and then load it, it does load it and instead just duplicates the ones that already exist.
I save all gradients at:

However it does (mostly) work when I import pre-made (from web) Gradients.
I don't know why this happens but it also did the same thing when I had CS5.5!
I am creating sprites and recolors and i was wondering if it was to recolor an entire image and make it only use the colors you have in the palette this would make recoloring much easier.

I followed the instructions on getpaint.net, but when I used the tool, it gave me the inverted version of the color I wanted. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice. I even went so far as to paint the color I wanted, invert the photo colors, use the picker tool, and set the inverted color as my secondary. It turned out the actual color I wanted.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a file with a number of artboards on which there are objetcs filled with 100% Magenta and some with 100% Magenta and 0,34% Yellow. I want to get rid of that 0,34% but Illy is refusing to cooperate.
Even selecting just two or three objects and trying to recolor using the Edit/Edit colors/Recolor Artwork dialog has no effect. I can change the color manually though, for one or more selected objects.
I have presently 20 colors in a graph and its being a pain using the recolor artwork.

Basically I have a picture of my hall and I want to change the colour of the blue part to different colours to see what paint would look good.
All I can see is to make rectangles and then a thick brush to recolour each one with the mouse which takes ages.
can I not create a shape to outline the entire blue area and just click on different colour palettes to see how they look?

I tried using the Circle as Clipping Mask for the red Rectangle. When using a Clipping Mask, the red rectangle is clipped to the Fill of the Object, not the Stroke as in Step 3. Is there a way to keep the Stroke and not Expand the Stroke into its own Shape so that I can later change the Stroke from 10 points to 20 points, while retaining the partial red coloring?
I also tried making two Stroked Circles on separate layers and coloring/clipping the top one but having two Strokes stacked creates jagged edges instead of a smooth vector look. The top Stroke never perfectly covers the Strokes below, regardless of Color Mode. For example dublicating the green Stroked Circle and changing its Color to red should make it disappear on the red background, but parts of the green Circle still show through:

As you can see from the screenshot, there is a lot of colors to go through.
How do I change the base color in the recolor Artwork settings? I know this seems like a silly thing but I really need to figure this out and I have read and gone through the manual to no avail.

I select the type, use recolor artwork, and take the arrows off of everything except the 2nd color (which is 28m 100y). This is where I get stuck, how do I assign PMS 130 to be the destination color?
Tried clicking a few things and did not work, and if I try to choose document swatches, I get the error below.
I cannot use select >> same fill color, because the type is in one text container, and I need just the gold type selected (along with fills and strokes in the rest fo the document)

working in CS6, OS 10.6.8. I'm working on a 3-color screen print CD label, and the colors will be a white background, plus black and a PMS color. I've been recoloring some CMYK artwork to use in the design, and really liked the results of Recolor Artwork (selecting only black and the spot color), until I noticed that when I selected "tints & shades" it converted everything with black in it to process (which I know Adobe says is why you shouldn't select that option).
But my question is, how can I get the same effect (that is, using shades of the spot color "mixed" with black) without having it convert the shades to process? I'm sure it involves overprinting, but I'm hitting a big hole in my knowledge.

I just need to go from K and tones of K to a spot color and tones of a spot color.
I'm using recolor artwork because I can't merge into K. The art comes in from our customers as K so we can't just design differently.
The rectangles on the right are k and tones of k. The rectangles on the left are the results after converting to a spot color with recolor artwork. Using recolor artwork. I just need a way to accurately move the tones from k to a spot.
I have two photos, shooted probably the same day, by the same photograph in the same place !But the pose is a bit different. first one is in high resolution and in black & white nuance. second one is a small resolution and in full colors.
I wish re-color the black&white photo using exactly the same nuance from the colored one.
can i "copy" all the colors from the color-one to the b&w one ?
i hope there is a quick way to do that with adobe photoshop or with a commercial plugin. Something like : i load the first one (color), i load the second one (b&n), and i press Ok and magic appears !
