My photos look great in CS6 but once I save them and upload them to a website like Facebook, Shutterfly, my personal website or anywhere really, they end up looking washed out and faded. What do I need to change?
RGB is set to: Adobe RGB (1998) CMYK, Gray & Spot are all in their default settings.

In Recolor artwork is there a way to change the black and white colors to a color? When I try to edit them it doesn't edit them at all. It would be nice if I didn't have to manually tweak the colors to have color before I go into Recolor Artwork.

When I open photos from Lightroom, areas of transparency are showing up at random within the photo. If I convert the Background to a Layer, the problem disappears.
What is causing this, and how can I prevent it? Win 7 16 gig Ram NVIDIA GT 220 .

I just purchased a new computer which is running Windows 7 and has an AMD Radeon graphics card. I loaded my Photoshop CS4 on this new computer. I previously had CS4 loaded on a Dell Inspiration laptop that died. I never had any problems with CS4 on my laptop. I have always used a working color profile of sRGB IEC61966-2.1 as that is the color profile that my digital camera uses. Now when I open photos in CS4 using this color profile, there are black pixelated areas on many of the photos. I can get rid of this in two ways, 1. by dropping the saturation down to around -8 or 2. changing my working space profile to Adobe RGB 1998 and then converting the documents color profile to the working space. I have to convert every photo that I bring in to Photoshop. Is the graphics card not compatible with CS4?

I need to cut out an image from a transparent background. Is there a way to do that with Photoshop Elements 10?
In other words, I have an image (say a face) that is on a rectangular background that is transparent. I need to cut away all the transparent area so there is NO background, just the face, and an irregular shaped image. Is that possible with Photoshop?
This is for inserting the image in another program (Sketch Up) which does not always allow transparency.

What is the difference between rooms and areas? Why create an area schedule off 'areas' as opposed to using 'room' areas? Can you create a schedule off room areas?

In the image below I have an aerial photo of an Island. I need to make it so as water areas are black and land areas are white (not greyscale) almost like a silhouette. My first plan was to draw round the island with a black paint brush and then use the "bucket fill" with a suitable threshold to fill all of the areas up to the black outline with black, however this doesn't work as the bucket fill either breaks through the black line or when I reduce the threshold, doesn't color the water areas solidly.

In Elements 6, every time we try to change bright white areas to another color, it doesn't work.
No matter what color is picked, the result is always an area of dark, charcoal gray.
Evidently, the program does not recognize Bright White as a color.
Is there a way to make these changes using this program?

I have an image with the main subject (a car) and the background which I wish to have set to a Antique Contrast type effect. I think this is what it was called as I placed this text 'AntiqueContrast' in the file name to remind me, but now I can not find anything what I may have done to get this effect.
I either selected the area I wanted to alter or the the area I wanted left alone.

When opening my jpeg photos in Photoshop elements 9, once saved elements seems put the image in a format that my Apple Mac isn't compatible with. So when I then try and upload the images to Facebook or other software in a bulk upload the images are highlighted and I therefore can't select them and upload.

New user to PSE11. Is it recommended that ALL photos be in albums or is the idea that photos in albums are a subset of the photos in folders? With all the sort and search functionality, I don't understand the benefit of albums.I name my image folders using a standard naming convention with the date embedded so it makes them rather easy to manage.

The instructions in Adobe Photo Elements 11 Classroom In a Book are the classic Windows "Drag and Drop" Method. However, when I try to do it, the cursor/icon I am dragging turns into a gray circle with a gray diagonal when it reaches the Media Browser pane in the Organizer and the folder/photo is not imported into the Organizer when I "drop." Do I need to change setting in Windows (Vista, SP2) or Photoshop Elements 11?

I just upgraded to photoshop elements 11. When I attempt to sync photos in iTunes (to synch with my iPhone), Photoshop Elements appears in the drop down and when I select it, it finds all the "albums" in the catalog. However, when I select an album to sync, iTunes indicates 0 photos are available in the album.
I'm running photoshop elements 11, iTunes 11.0.1.12, Windows 8 Pro.
if I try to sync "all photos and albums" it still reports that there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've tried to make new albums, which iTunes "sees" the names, but there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've also tried to sync with a folder (file system) which works just fine.

I am trying to recolor a GIF with a gradient.
Most of the GIF is a solid color that I want to change from one color to another. I know the before background color (in this case blue) and after background color (in this case green). However, there are many shades of varation in the gradient that I hope can switch from a shade of blue to a shade of green automatically.
I've played with the Image > Adjust > Replace Color options, but can't seem to figure out how to exactly change the background color from the old one to the exact new one that I want.

Way back I did this but now cannot duplicate it. I'm using PS 5.0. I changed a photo to B&W and then I think I used the eraser to change my granddaughter back to the 'colored' version. It's like what is done in a TV commercial.

I recolored a set of emotion icons to yellow without any problems. The example is attachment 01.png. However, I failed to do the same with the icon 02.png. I'm struggling with the gradient. I'm using Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer but I don't know how to set it properly so the icon itself is yellow but the blushing is retained reddish.

I have a picture that i'm trying to recolor. I'm going to image, adjustments, replace color. I'm choosing the color I want to replace and then choosing a color out of my swatch to replace it with and when the color loads onto my image it doesn't look anything like the color i chose. I don't want to use the saturation, hue, and lightness bars. I have a specific color that I want to use and it doesn't seem to be working.
