new to PaintNet. I have a Hex Grid PNG file where the Hex outlines are in a shade of grey. I want to "recolor: the grey lines black. Thought the RECOLOR tool would do that but I can't seem to get it to work. The Hex grid PNG is attached to this post.

I can't recolor white to transparent with the recolor tool, is this a bug? is there any other way to do it? :?:
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn Recolor artwork is there a way to change the black and white colors to a color? When I try to edit them it doesn't edit them at all. It would be nice if I didn't have to manually tweak the colors to have color before I go into Recolor Artwork.

However, color at some point changed to grey.
Color- by layer, transparency- by layer, viewstyle- 2D Wireframe...
The thing is if I double click on a text it turns to black but after regenall it turns to grey again!
Already did restart and everything. Looks like there is maybe some variable for color control, I don't know.

I am making a logo in paint.net and I have text and some lines drawn, when i use the eraser it deletes and shows the grey checkered squares BUT when I save it there is light grey for where the eraser has been 'erasing'
I have white for primary and secondary and opacity on full.
I am trying to save a red and white and black logo to an eps file to use with a vinyl cutter but when it saves it changes it to a greyscale picture and the red color is removed. I tried resetting to factory settings and that didn't work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedTotal buffoon when it comes to getting GIMP to do what I want to do. I'm just practicing with making maps, black lines on a white background, and I've run into some issues I'm wondering if I can get rectified.
1) For whatever reason, the line weight of everything has shifted throughout the file, ending with some lines lighter and grayer than others. Is there a way I can get GIMP to trace all the lines in a uniform black, with uniform thickness?
2) I have tried locking the white background, but often when I select and move my black lines, if I don't click in just the right spot it moves the white background instead, which is really, reeeaaaly aggravating. How Do I get that background to be completely untouchable?
3) In trying to colour the image, I've run into problems with their being a white outline between the colour and the black lines. I think I need to sharpen the image or somesuch? How can one correct this issue?
4) Is there anyway to convert the black dotted lines of the paths tools into straight black lines, in regards to an older file? If not, is there an easy way to trace them?
5) I find the scale too tends to make my image too jagged. I want to take a section of my map, move it too another file and enlarge it to do detail work - what's the best way to do this in order to have a clear image?
6) Any way to translate an image from a MErcator Projection ot a Winkell-Trippel projection, one that works on a Mac?

I just need to go from K and tones of K to a spot color and tones of a spot color.
I'm using recolor artwork because I can't merge into K. The art comes in from our customers as K so we can't just design differently.
The rectangles on the right are k and tones of k. The rectangles on the left are the results after converting to a spot color with recolor artwork. Using recolor artwork. I just need a way to accurately move the tones from k to a spot.

If I open a new image Raster background (white) RGB-8bit/channel and put the size in inches centimetres or millimetres I get a black 1px line horizontal and vertical on the image. I either have to paint over it or open the image using pixels as the sizing.

I have only just found out how it occurs. It also is the same if I install PSP on Laptop (win7 64 bit)I make animations and can use upto 50 images replicating from the 1st image so if I forget to paint out the lines on number 1 image (as I did last week) and then put them through an animator and then scream when I see the black lines on the finshed animation. At least I now know to always use pixels as the size of the images.
Of course now I know I will try and use pixels when opening a new image (but would sooner use the other measurements )
The Recolor Artwork dialog does not replace the color of objects filled or stroked with pure black, either CMYK or RGB. (Yes, with the Recolor Art checkbox selected.) The dialog will replace any other color, but not black. Not even a manually created rich black. Manually selecting another color from the Color or Swatches panel does change the object's fill or stroke.
This happens with both CS6 and CS5 under Windows 7 x64. I reported it as a bug on the prerelease site. Also not sure if bug reports are still being read for the released version.
I am creating sprites and recolors and i was wondering if it was to recolor an entire image and make it only use the colors you have in the palette this would make recoloring much easier.

I followed the instructions on getpaint.net, but when I used the tool, it gave me the inverted version of the color I wanted. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice. I even went so far as to paint the color I wanted, invert the photo colors, use the picker tool, and set the inverted color as my secondary. It turned out the actual color I wanted.

All I can see is to make rectangles and then a thick brush to recolour each one with the mouse which takes ages.
can I not create a shape to outline the entire blue area and just click on different colour palettes to see how they look?
I am making an adjustment to my "LOGO" for business. I am trying to recolor the bottom half of a circle, that has a thick border, split in half by TWO colors.
When I enlarge picture to 2400%< i see all kinds of "shades" of colors that line be more "Definitive" ..I am guessing?
When i try changing the color fron a "TAN" color to a "DARK RED" , then Zoom out, the lines are VERY CHOPPY and "SQUARED".

Is there a way to create a PERFECT LINES on a circle, by using a specific tool, or i have to do a lot guessing and do "FILL-IN" colors to get the line more definitive?

I often use the Selective Color und navigate between the Colors with CRTL+1 till 9. Now Adobe changed the Shortcuts to alt+3 (for RED) till alt+8 (for MAGENTA). Now my Question -how is the Shortcut for WHITE/GREY an BLACK?
Is there an obvious reason why a polyline would plot grey instead of black? If I select a monochrome plot style table, the lines are black. I noticed certain fonts will plot grey instead of black, but I am stumped on an object.

Document color is set to RGB, not CMYK, or Greyscale. I'm totally at a loss... My customer is needing this tomorrow. So a really fast correct reponse would be FANTASTIC. I attached the 1st picture to show exactly what is the problem, the colors should to be all black, but they are brown...The second picture shows them in paint, which works perfect...
I can not use the color replacement tool to replace a grey/black color on a person's head to all black. The tool keeps getting a grey not a black, even after I select black from the swatch.
Does the image file need to be something else than RGB? I have tried other color and it does work. I have tried red and it will replace all of the grey&black, but .........
CS6 on imac and canon MG6150 printer.When I print a photo with areas of black the result looks like the black has been solarized and it prints out as a dirty grey with black edges.

View 3 Replies View Relatedhow to stop AutoCAD Lt from ploting in grey... it doesnt seem to make sense to me why this is happening. We use to have Autocad 2007 and a lot of the files that we still work from were created in that. Everytime files are now plotted to pdf parts of the drawing appear a very light grey as oppose to black which is how they appear on the screen. In the plot style table in the page setup they are also black - and I have tried changing it from monochrome to custom pen assignments, nothing seems to change it. The files are usually in stb as oppose to ctb. whole page prints black or the colours that I have actually clicked on?
