Why I'm getting a grey Flare when I open it with a black background, but it's in color when I open it in a white background?
I know that flare works better with a black background, but for any reason it looks grey and it's hard to create effects.
I'm trying to use a smoke brush in Illustrator CS5 and colour it blue. However, when I place a black square at the back of the image as a background, the brush appears to have a grey outer edge. I have tried other brushes as well and some produce the same results.
I am wondering if this may be a setting that I'm unaware of or something else.
I am designing a calendar. When designing the background is a solid black, but when I export or save as PNG it appears on the screen as dark grey. I'm self taught and don't know if it will print out grey or black.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using Ai CS6 64bit now on windows 8, and I have a problem with the black and grey colors, because they look like brown variations...In the past I hadn't similar problems, but recently I changed my notebook to an Asus KB56, from Acer.
I attached the 1st picture to show exactly what is the problem, the colors should to be all black, but they are brown...The second picture shows them in paint, which works perfect...
I am new to Illustrator and using a Mac. When I open Illustrator CS6 the background is not the expected grey color but whever other program hapens to be open. This changes to grey as soon as create a new drawing. Is this normal?

I tried using different standard fonts, but result is the same. Aslo when I export it for high quality printing, the resulting pdf document also show the red text somewhat rasterized. (Does not appear smooth red).
I think it might be the GPU but i used apple computers with intel hd 4000 and it didnt do that. I have amd hd 7750 with an i5 and 4gb ram. Photoshop doesnt run slow its just the picture going in and out.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI can not use the color replacement tool to replace a grey/black color on a person's head to all black. The tool keeps getting a grey not a black, even after I select black from the swatch.
Does the image file need to be something else than RGB? I have tried other color and it does work. I have tried red and it will replace all of the grey&black, but .........
I used by layer and black 250 color also. You can see that the gravel, the concrete foundation and the water hatch is grey.

However, color at some point changed to grey.
Color- by layer, transparency- by layer, viewstyle- 2D Wireframe...
The thing is if I double click on a text it turns to black but after regenall it turns to grey again!
Already did restart and everything. Looks like there is maybe some variable for color control, I don't know.
I'm using .AI CS6. I am trying to type something and the font color is set to black. But only shows up grey. But all other colors work fine. Document color is set to RGB, not CMYK, or Greyscale. I'm totally at a loss... My customer is needing this tomorrow. So a really fast correct reponse would be FANTASTIC. Been woring on this artboard for a little over an hour and can't do what I need done. I open new Artboards and the same problem persists..

This works perfectly for quickly assessing brightness and contrast of pictures.
In pse 10 however I could not find any button to change the preset lightgrey background colour to darkgrey.
How do I change my background screen colour in full edit, as it has gone from grey to bright pink!
I can't see where I need to go to change it back to grey!!
When I open a picture in photoshop, any picture, I see the picture and all around it is a background color. It has nothing to do with the picture or any work being done on the picture. This has to do with the color that comes up on the screen regardless of the picture. It was black and I hit something and it is now blue. I want this to go back to black.
I tryed clicking on the link below, selecting black for a background color and clicking and nothing changes.
I try to use the color grey its always redish grey and never grey.
I tried changing my color settings from photoshop but it still wont work.
The background behind my photo is bright blue. I want black. I used the bottom square and switched it to black and the background did not change.

Last release I could drag the window to size it larger than the image and it was easy to see. The attachment shows the trouble and I can't find where or how to change just the background color of the work surface without changing the color of the workspace that now works best for me.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is probably super simple. I do a lot of transparency stuff for the Web. My background color for the most part turns out to be black. I get my transparency but the program I'm using at the moment does a cleaner job with white. When it's black I see a little trash of black around the edge of the graphic. In the past I've come up with white quite by accident and it was clean as a whistle. I'm exporting as PNG, True Color + Alpha.

I tried to attach an .xcf file, but it won't do it, which seems strange for a gimp forum. Anyway, one layer is the text (black outline) and one layer is a colorful background. In the xcf, the background layer is entirely filled with the colorful stuff, but I want it to only show through the interior of the letters (as shown in the png).

I have a scanned image which is black text on white paper. The paper comes out darker in some section because of scan. Is there a simple way I can make the off-white background white?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to save lens flare on transparent background? I guess you can cut the center of the flare out and use it like that, but it losses it's magic around. And yes I can implement it in some picture and use the blend mode screen to get rid of the black background, but I want to use it on website and a hover so it shouldn't be too big as a file.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI did put a real photo in the background of my website to fit entire page. So the text of my webpage is black, and sometimes other colors. So what happen is that some times the text is hard to read when it come on top of dark places of the photo (for example hear of people). So i want to adapt the photo to make it more unicolor, more whiten (increase whiteness) so the black text will appear even better.
What tools and filters in gimp that give me this ability to do that ?
