Photoshop :: How To Have One Camera Affect View Of All 3D Layers In Scene
Sep 26, 2013
Just trying to work out how to have one camera affect the view of all the 3D layers in my scene. If I have a layer selected, and adjust the camera, it only affects that layer.
I am trying to use the camera to zooom into one layer. the front layer should not be affected by that - so how can I make the camera only affect ONE layer not all?
I've just recently started to use the 3d function on Photoshop cs5 with text. But is there a way so the light on one layer affects other layers instead of having to redo the light for all layers?
I am in the process of creating a Action/War scene where the characters will be still (Meaning not moving or frozen), but there will be a camera that moves/pans around them showing the different characters and the things they are doing. Now, I have two questions to this. Since there will be some weapons (mainly guns and such), is it possible to create a muzzle flash while making it appear frozen to the eye? As in making a muzzle flash and using only a piece of it (make in mid flash) and using that as the still visual effect. Can this be done? Because from what I remember...creating a Muzzle Flash requires particles, which has a moving animation to them.
My second question is....Which one would be better at making a actuate muzzle flash (in this case a still muzzle flash), PF Source or FumeFX? Which one would make a really actuate looking muzzle flash and while preserving a frozen action look?
When I merge an animated camera from another scene, the movement setting keys for the camera and target are there, but it appears that animated exposure settings are not. Is there a way to import those with the camera, as well?
I'm new to Maya 2011 and simply put, I need to know the basics of animating a camera around a scene, along a path, slowing down and speeding up, how to move the point of interest, that type of thing.
Why Camera Views is different from all other views in Revit. It is simple not possible to add a view reference, or a tag etc. to reference to a camera view.
Of course I can put in a 'dead' symbol to show where it is in plans, but that's simply not the same...
leaving the isolate mode in a camera view (3dsmax-camera or vrayphysical-camera) changes the view from cameraview to perspective view. Am I missing any new setting or ist this a bug...
I have never gotten this to work, but had put little effort into it until recently. Thus far I have checked my project standards to make sure "match sheet views to view" is checked to "yes".
In both View drawing and the sheet- VISRETAIN is set to 1.
the VPLAYEROVERRIDESMODE is set to 1
I am working on drawings that are in my current project through project navigator. I am using ACA 2010 and not sure what else I need to do. I turn off all the unwanted layers in the view drawing, then create a sheet and xref in the view to model space- all the layers reset, and I again have to turn off all the unwanted layers. If I change a layer color in the view drawing, it does not change in the sheet drawing upon save and refresh.
I hate wasting time repeating the same task over and over....
Was just trying to view pictures from my camera in Bridge and more than half of them in this one directory aren't showing thumbnails or EXIF data, just the CR2 icon and incorrect creation date and time (they were all shot the same day, most within minutes of each other, yet they're a week off). If I double click on the icon, the image opens up correctly in the CR2 plug-in. They worked before, I've opened and closed Bridge and PS, I've purged the cache, but it's still not working.
I recently bought a Canon 5d mark iii camera and am having difficulty viewing the raw files on my Mac. The Mac operating software is 10.5.8 and the mac doesnt have intel. Photoshop software is CS3.
I have looked at various plug ins but am struggling to find one that will work. Is there no option to me other than buying a new laptop with the latest photoshop or is there a workaround
I'm having an issue trying to move the camera view in cs6 extended using a 3d Layer. Here's the idea:
1. Create a 3D Layer extrusion / mesh primitive. 2. I select the current view item in 3D Panel / click outside model. 3. The border frame appears yellow. 4. When I select the Move tool, I can only rotate around the y axis, can't rotate up or down. Can't roll the camera, move or slide either using the other move tool modes. 5. I can adjust the co-ordinates properties for the current view and it works OK. 6. Object /light transforms work OK.
I'm testing on 13.0.1, mac 10.7.4. I had the same problem on another machine on 10.6.8 on v 13.0 last week that fixed itself, but not sure how .
All working OK until 8 days ago, then bridge just disappeared completely. Looked like it had opened but would disappear when I clicked on the icon. Re-installed, Bride now visible but unable to view .CR2 files in camera RAW or in Photoshop, comes up as "unable to open".
Have tried to install the 5.7 camera raw update, extract files, click on application, then Photoshop opens and advises "invalid file type". Not sure what to do now and have a large number of wedding files slowly building up .
I'm trying to make a camera mapping in softimage from photoshop layers (matte painting). But I´ve a problem with the alpha channel. The layers shows a gray halo that surrounds them.
According to 'About Lightroom; this is what I'm running: <Lightroom 3.6, Camera Raw 6.6>
I used to 'merge to panorama', or 'open as layers' in Photoshop regularly, but today it no longer works. When I try, the message comes up: "This version of Lightroom may require the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in version 6.6 for full compatibility. Please update the Camera Raw plug-in using the update tool available in the Photoshop help menu."
When I go to Photoshop Help Menu, 'no available updates at this time' is the message that comes up. I manually downloaded the Camera Raw 6.6, but to no avail.
When attempting to edit using PS, the program DOES open, but nothing happens... the files do not appear. They DO open individually when Edit in Photoshop CS4 is selected, but I prefer the 'open in layers' option, and often use the 'merge to panorama'...
Video playback of camera videos is very choppy on older computers, AKA my computer. I know if I disable audio I can get smoother playback )although slow motion. Is there anyway to view camera MOV files in real time on an older computer.
I am doing some detail work in a camera viewport, is there a way to zoom into the view? Not move the camera, just make an area larger so I can better animate objects.
when using the ViewCube to rotate the camera around and get a different view, it seems to either have a mind of its own or centered on 0,0,0. I've been working on a project for awhile and when I'm editing and have something selected the camera rotates like it should but doesn't focus on what I have selected and sometimes it does. Does this camera rotate and move around the complete center(x:0, y:0, z:0) or am I missing something? I haven't seen anything posted about it so it may just be me but it is frustrating when you are working on a project and have to pan the camera around, zoom out if need be and find the spot you are working currently almost every time.
I've taken a shot of a building. I'm setting up a scene that has a realistic camera lens distance and focal length taken from measurements at the architectural location. I'm creating a mesh to go over that image and it has to line up with the photo perfectly.
There are small details on the building that I need to extrude but even in full frame view on my 30" monitor I can't get close enough. If I change to a perspective or front view to work zoomed in the mesh is off when I go back to my camera view as the perspective distortion, small as it is, is different than a front or perspective view.
Is there a away to zoom in on a section of a camera view so that I can keep working on my mesh using the camera's perspective and view distortion?

i am working on a document that i saved as a .psd. and all of sudden i lost my layers..i can't view the flaoting box called layers. i went to window and clicked on layers to view and there is a small check mark but i can see it. anybody can help?
I have a building file with a site linked in. The site file has the retaining wall etc.
In the building file I have created some camera views and when you adjust the eye height the linked wall is distorted. note the correct alignment in perspective-01 and the distortions in *-02 & *-03.
So I have set camera view in my viewport for a perspective view. This goes okay but when i close my drawing and open it again. The view was changed. I have tried locking my VP, set UCSFOLLOW to 0, display locked=YES as stated on other VP problems in threads. What setting am i missing?
How do I see a tagged image from the camera (tagged using the lock button, to remind me of a image I want to find quickly) once imported into Lightroom? This is possible to do in Photomechanic, as I can see all of the tagged images from the camera once opened in Photomechanic. Yet so far I have not found a way to allow me to do this in Lightroom so far.
Is there a shortcut for viewing two layers alternately in Photoshop?
For example, I have two different sharpening layers which I would like to compare by switching between them both. Currently I have to turn one off and then the other on, to view the effect of one. Then to view the other one, I have to go through the same procedure.
I'm thinking there must be a method whereby turning one layer on, automatically turns the other one off and clicking again reverses the process.
