View 5 Replies View RelatedI was messing around with style editing, and added a texture map to a style as a bump. The bitmap I selected, however, was on my hard drive, not in the project search path. Now that I would like to check this part into the vault, I get the attached error message. I have since tried deleting, copying, moving the file from that hard drive to a legitimate search library.... removed it from every style it was used in, purged all styles, basically deleted it from every place I can find it, including going through the model tree and checking each individual feature (over 50!) to try to find it. It is still in the file somewhere, and I can't seem to figure out where. Is there no way to find and purge this offending bitmap?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have got troubles with textures in the new Inventor 2013. When I try to programmatically change a texture in a render style of a part (no matter, whether I use an existing render style or create a new one), when I set the texture file name, Inventor throws an exception "Bad argument". In Inventor 2012, it worked. How textures should be set in the new Inventor?
Sample
PartDocument partDoc = ... some initialization
RenderStyle newRenderStyle = partDoc.RenderStyles.Add("newRenderStyle");
newRenderStyle.TextureFilename = newTexFilename; //this throws an exception bad format, even if the texture is in the Inventor textures directory
partDoc.ActiveRenderStyle = newRenderStyle;
It appears various people are posting things that are posted in the Readme. For Nitrous these are:
• To prevent issues with Nitrous, ensure you have the most up‐to‐date system drivers. For specific details, see the sections about 3ds Max 2012 / 3ds Max Design 2012 found at URL....
• Applying Unwrap UVW after painting in 2D with Viewport Canvas and painting on top of the Unwrap UVW can sometimes cause 2D paint to fail.
Workaround: If this occurs, apply an Edit Poly modifier on top of the Unwrap UVW modifier.
• Civil View parameters can cause a program error when modifying surface parameters.
• Object Color display will show the object’s material color when set to object color.
Workaround: Enable Use Environment Background and Display Background in the Viewport Background settings (Alt+B).
• Locking the computer can cause the viewports to stop responding in some cases.
Workaround: If this occurs, restart the program.
• Mirrored or negatively scaled objects might display face edges incorrectly.
• The Soft selection Shade Face Toggle does not always properly display the shaded faces.
• MassFX constraints can cause Dummy objects not to display in Realistic mode.
• Body Objects display tessellated/triangulated edges instead of the proper Body curves.
• Back faces display as transparent.
• Hidden Line style does not display texture maps in the viewport.
• Tone Mapper used with a Skylight set to use the mr Physical Sky environment will display a black background when enabled.
• Enable Gamma/LUT Correction does not work on stylized viewports.
• Very large textures (10K x 10K) can cause a program error. Workaround: You can control texture sizes with MAXScript:
NitrousGraphicsManager.SetTextureSizeLimit 512 true
NitrousGraphicsManager.SetBackgroundTextureSizeLimit 1024 true
Or by modifying the following keys in 3dsmax.ini:
ViewportTextureSizeLimitEnabled=1
ViewportTextureSizeLimit=512
ViewportBackgroundTextureSizeLimitEnabled=1
You need to restart 3ds Max after making these changes.-Eric

(the first image has a globe shap that i want to remove and the second has a hand with pointed finger.)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to create a day night texture for use in FSX (Flight Simulator X). This is as far as I can get - lack of knowledge main reason!! In picture 1, I made a 64 x 64 pixel canvas. After putting the border around it, I used the magic wand on the inside and used the Alpha mask. Then I made a duplicate layer as seen in picture 2 and made a light brown tint.
Then I used the flatten. But now I need a light to shine thru the window pane for a night effect. How would I do this? Would I use the Effect\Photo\Glow? How would I save the completed image as a _LM image?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've created a logo with a grunge texture over the font in Illustrator CS5. When I try and create a compound path with the grunge texture I lose the detail. Here's one of the letter to show what it looks like before and after creating the compound path using the minus front pathfinder option. On the left is how I'd like it to look.
Although it doesn't look like much of a difference when printed it flattens out even more. I've tried every grouping option I could think of, used the pathfinder options and used this thread: [URL].... to try creating it using a transparency. Nothing gets the detail I need.
Is this something I can achieve?

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor my 3D scene, I have to use a texture file on the floor. If I use the only file, than it looks really boring and below par. What I want is, I want to generate some (around 6-8) texture files within the original texture file - so the colors of all the texture files remain same but only the texture varies.Likewise there are more than 500 texture files and I just can't do them manually. Is there any way out to do this in Photoshop?
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow can I create a surface texture symbol (ACM 2011) on a dimension using VBA without interactively selecting the dimension?I have a point on the dimension and the entity name / handle of the dimension which I want to pass to the VBA function.
I am using the code from Introducing the AutoCAD® Mechanical API, Wayne Brill – Autodesk URL....While this code interactively selects the point and the line (dimension in my case), I don't want to use interaction. Instead I have lisp variable.
I have used the vlax.cls to convert the point to a variant and handle to an object. (I could use Users variables instead with more complex code). This works well but the code fails at the line:

I have a lava texture and a ground texture. I'd like to be able to make some cracks on the ground texture that would show through the lava texture below it. Something like a cracked mud look. I would be using this for a game I'm making form some terrain textures. Are there any plugins that would aid in making these transparent cracks and perhaps even add depth to the cracks?
I guess a spider web where the spider was on crack would be something I'm looking for. Similar to the following image:

we started working in a project in Revit 2013 and at one point we decided to export all drawings to Autocad . I have a huge problem , the Text we used in Revit was Architxt but in Autocad it shows all the text in Ariel font and AutoCad won't let me change it to Architxt again, so far it is fine I can deal with that. the problem is I tried to create a new Architxt text style in Autocad but it shows as Arial font. now all my our projects are missed up , the text shows in Arial font.

I don't want to create a table on a sheet, I want to define a new style and then assign the style to the existing table.
I have no problem assigning the style once it is defined in the drawing to the existing table.
Dim oTableStyle As Inventor.TableStyle oTableStyle = oDrawingDoc.StylesManager.TableStyles("BOM") Dim oTable As Inventor.CustomTable oTable = oSheet.CustomTables.Item(1) oTable.Style = oTableStyle
There doesn't seem to be a TableStyles collection with an add or create event. I stumbled upon the "TableFormat" object but that seems to only override an existing style.
looked at the "StylesManager" but again I am not finding a create method.
