View 1 RepliesAny ideas how i can best go about creating a texture for a fish, similar to the one i've attached.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIm fiddling around with textures and want to apply a brick texture to a face. The texture itself is a frontal one without perspective, but I want it to follow the lines and perspective of the face. Additionally, I want the texture to have depth and some good lighting to it.
No I know a little about displacement maps, bump maps, specular maps etc, which ones to use in this case..
Id like to be able to take the color and skin texture a body and place it another body!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like to apply my own texture to the model i've done into 3ds max 2012, but I only know how to apply a texture from 3ds max... I have looking for tutorials, but they do not speak of how to apply a texture witch is not in a library, or, at least, how to create your own library..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am bringing into an old photo which is in fact a scan of a printed photo, an item selected from a recently taken photo and I need it to look as if it belongs to the old photo.
The immediate difference is in the texture, best shown with a photo here. try viewing it also by moving head laft and right ! I can even see a regular pattern of something within the cruder pixels. I could take days to try out various filters, it may be it requires a combination of filters and given the variables involved the chances of hitting upon the right settings and the right filters is remote and it would take days. Is there a way of sampling the recipient photo and then applying the effect it sees to the cleaner looking modern photo ?
I come across this situation all the time when one photo, even a modern digicamera one, taken by someone else, differs from another photo, unless the 'textures' can be made to match, the added in pics stick out like a sore thumb ! A photo with jpg artefacts receiving a cleaner photo is one common occurrence, try geting the cleaner one to look very jpegged, not easy.
It appears that the Layer Filters functionality is broken again with 2013. Unchecking the "Apply layer filter to layer toolbar" disables the function of layer filters in the tool palette.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't mean use a video as a texture on say a square. I mean how like in this video, the texture is applied on the collapsing parts.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI like the option of doing an IBL Lighting effect, but when I add a new texture image it is scaled so LARGE that I don't get any of the details of that image in my reflections, etc.
Is there a way to scale that image (texture) down?
I use a lot of adjustment layers and they're often applied to the previous layer. Is there a keyboard shortcut to automatically "Use pervious layer as clipping mask" without going through the dialogue box or manually applying in the layers palette(Option-click between layers)?

how to apply geoid / scale factor for transformations?
I need to get UTM zone 11 in WGS ellipsoid to ground coordinates.
I imported a model from Sketchup into 3DS Max. When I apply materials to some of the surfaces, the scale of the texture varies from face to face, these are the triangles that make up a polygon. It's as if the texture is getting stretched or compressed in one direction or another. Other polygons allow for consistent materials. It seems to be random and I can't figure out what to do.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of field book file related questions
1. Can you apply a grid scale factor to measured distances when importing from an fbk file? You can apply using coordinate transformation if importing from csv file but I need to use FBK files to allow the user to make changes to the observation data of the points. As far as I can see the translate survey database command allows you to shift easting, northing, rotation and elevation but not scale. There is mention of a workaround at the following link but I could not locate this on the Civil Community.
[URL]....
"The Survey Data must first be imported from the FBK into the Survey Database, then translated/rotated in the Survey Database using the Survey Addition available from Autodesk Civil Community website, or some other third-party solution."
2. Also on fbk files, I have manually typed in alphnumeric point ID's for the point number in the field (see fbk file attached, file extension changed). When importing the resulting fbk file into Civil 3D the point ID's come in under point name and I cannot determine where it is getting the point number from? Opening the fbk file in notepad I do not see any of the point numbers that are getting assigned to the points in C3D. Where these numbers are coming from? Also is it possible to import alphanumeric strings as point numbers using fbk format?
Using description keys would require manually entering in the point ID as an attribute with each point (it automatically appears if added as point number with incremental identifier). This doesnt seem like a big deal but tI may have up to 10,000 sections to survey with 250 points in each section so it would be time consuming.
I'm trying to replicate this background texture in Adobe Photoshop CS5. Any few pointers as to how this will work?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI ran to a little trouble using photoshop today. I wanted to get rid of the "adjustment layer" but leave the effects.
For example:
I have two layers and I want to apply the adjustment layer effect to them. I don't want to leave that "adjustment layer" on top of everyone. I can't use groups because my real project is too complicated. By the way, applying the adjustment layer to all of them means all the layers remain an image but they have been modified (for example: color, black and white, etc.).
how to apply a layer style/setting? I have a saved layer setting and whatnot but i cant seem to put it on another layer on another document.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to apply a mask to an effect on a layer only, without masking the original layer features themself?
For example, I have a layer which I've then applied a stroke layer effect to. How can I mask parts of the stroke without affecting the original layer?
I am trying to recreate a fish eye effect in photoshop that will look like the attached image.
Just wondering if there are any tips to keep it as precise and as accurate as possible.
I want to get the bend on the edges of the image to be exactly parallel to the edge of the semi-circle in which it is bordered.
I was thinking of using edit > transform > warp > fisheye;
Followed by... edit > transform > warp > custom
Obviously, I would overlay a similar black border to use as a guide first.
I'm importing two separately made images to Photoshop; both made from Sketchbook Pro on the i Pad. One is a background, the other is just a doodle. (background)
(original doodle)
What I've done so far is use "Color Range..." to remove just the black, then apply the "Darken" effect within the Layers Palette.(current view)
What I must know is how to use my doodle layer as a mask; to use the texture from the background image in the doodles brush strokes, but not be seen in the areas that used to be black.
I aim to use this effect in many kinds of imported images made from my i Pad, as well as handwritten graphics. I trust this would be very simple to use with actual typed-out text, but I'm having difficulty to find pre-existing solutions.
