View 1 RepliesI'm still new to PS and don't even know where to start! I have an image, it's a logo and is just a 3D letter H. I have been able to use pattern fills to create different version of the logo with different pattern fills. I am oddly enough trying to fill the "H" with the texture of a roast turkey from another image. I can isolate the outline of the letter that I want to fill but I'm not sure how to fill it. I've tried rubber stamping but that doesn't seem to work for me.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI like the option of doing an IBL Lighting effect, but when I add a new texture image it is scaled so LARGE that I don't get any of the details of that image in my reflections, etc.
Is there a way to scale that image (texture) down?
I have a texture and I want to fill the image with it as a background.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm importing two separately made images to Photoshop; both made from Sketchbook Pro on the i Pad. One is a background, the other is just a doodle. (background)
(original doodle)
What I've done so far is use "Color Range..." to remove just the black, then apply the "Darken" effect within the Layers Palette.(current view)
What I must know is how to use my doodle layer as a mask; to use the texture from the background image in the doodles brush strokes, but not be seen in the areas that used to be black.
I aim to use this effect in many kinds of imported images made from my i Pad, as well as handwritten graphics. I trust this would be very simple to use with actual typed-out text, but I'm having difficulty to find pre-existing solutions.
I am restoring a very old photograph with all the familiar Photoshop tools (Healing Brush, Clone Stamp, Curves, and Noise Reduction). My image restoration has one need that I am not familiar with. The photograph was scanned from a textured print, which appears as a bas relief (like a canvas). I would like to remove this texture to help remove the noise and sharpen the photo. Please let me know any techniques for removing this moir?

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor my 3D scene, I have to use a texture file on the floor. If I use the only file, than it looks really boring and below par. What I want is, I want to generate some (around 6-8) texture files within the original texture file - so the colors of all the texture files remain same but only the texture varies.Likewise there are more than 500 texture files and I just can't do them manually. Is there any way out to do this in Photoshop?
View 3 Replies View Relatedremove the background/textured images from these patterns?
(the first image has a globe shap that i want to remove and the second has a hand with pointed finger.)
I want to keep the pattern because it creates a transparent/glassy effect, but when i tried to flatten the image thourgh the layer menu it shows up white (with the shapes i want to remove) without the transparent effect.
I'm working on an ebook cover and it was suggested I add texture. Can I do that in paint.net?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to know how I can put a pattern on an image. It needs to be an image with a transparent background. For example, this image (that I found on Google):
(this is a huge picture, I am just using it as an example).
Its a PNG image. Its a star template, filled with a pattern of stars....how can I do this using Gimp? I want to make different stars like this one..some with cheetah pattern, some with zebra pattern etc.
I know it has to do with the layers or something
Also, does Gimp come with templates I can use? Like a star, for instance?
I am very new to corel paint and accidentally added a horrible texture to an image - how to remove the texture.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI saw a max demo at a show where they shattered the wall in a video/photo. The artist baked the background image to three planes (floor and two walls) like shown in the illustration, and then exploded one of these planes. It involved some kind of texture baking, but I didn't catch the whole process.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Inventor 2014 installed. My O/S is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. The program has been working fine until recently. Now, I keep getting "cannot read texture image". I read all the solutions I found in the discussion group but, I cannot figure out how to resolve the problem with the solutions given. Should I uninstall and reinstall the program. All the files were opening as they should but then out of the blue I started getting this message for every file I tried to open.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a lava texture and a ground texture. I'd like to be able to make some cracks on the ground texture that would show through the lava texture below it. Something like a cracked mud look. I would be using this for a game I'm making form some terrain textures. Are there any plugins that would aid in making these transparent cracks and perhaps even add depth to the cracks?
I guess a spider web where the spider was on crack would be something I'm looking for. Similar to the following image:

When I start a new document or open a file in Inventor, I get a pop up saying: "Cannot read texture image C:UseerspublicDocumentsAutodeskInventor 2011TexturesChrome.dds" I moved the whole Autodesk file and changed all paths under settings>files in Inventor. The new path to Chrome.dds is C:UsersKajDocumentsAutodeskInventor 2011TexturesChrome.dds

How do I overlay a grungy texture, so the letters look 'older'?I tried making the texture image the top layer in the list on the right and then this: right click -> layer -> transparency -> color to alpha. But then, the 'see-through' texture covers the entire square transparent background! Not just the letters...So, how do I add a transparent texture layer over a shaped image that has a transparent background?
I am UNABLE to follow a tutorial on how to make a repeatable pattern using 'texture transfer' on some fire I want to make into a pattern!!! every time I select the area I want to use and the 'input map' and paste as new image and I tell Resynthesizer to use that image it ALWAYS errors out as "The Input Map Should Be The Same Size As The Input Texture Image" according to the tutorial another person gave me on this forum he said NOTHING about being the same size!!! in fact, his selection was SMALLER than the actual image that he was using Resynthesizer on!!!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a cylindrical object that I want to map a brick wall texture to.
How is this achieved?
I use a CAD program to make my basic object, then I rotate it (as best as I can) to achieve perspective. Then, I do a screen grab, and prepare to use the object in photoshop as my reference.
I also have a sample of the brick (actually stone) pattern that I want to sample.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a design that seems a bit bland so I thought about adding some texture to the background, though I dont want it to interfere with the foreground elements like text, and images.
1. I can reduce the transparency, what else might I do? Fade it out?
2. Just curious to hear some examples of when you might use a texture for a background of an image? Do you only do it for very specific reasons?.
I have a project open in a 3d view to paint on a 3d mesh. Everything is fine until I save, close, and reopen. When I open the file to resume I can no longer paint on the model. I can still go to the UV (flat) view for any of the materials on the model but I can't paint on the mesh in 3d view.
I can open a new 3d layer, re-import the mesh, save and reapply all the previously painted texture to the new mesh layer and keep working but this seems not a very efficient work-flow.
I don't think many 3d pros actually use this piece of PS for texturing. This is the first time I've tried the 3d functionality of PS so I may just be overlooking something.
I have some jpeg files that I would like to use as textures. As I understand it the Patterns folder is the same as the Textures so I am assuming this is where I need to place Texture files. However, I cannot seem to find any instruction regarding the use of .jpegs as textures/patterns.
Do, I just drag (from downloads) and drop the .jpegs into the Patterns folder like I would with a .pat file?I read a thread that said it's a pretty difficult process to convert/change a jpeg into a pat file ..is that true? Well, so how to make a pat outta a jpeg?

I've had a few attempts at applying the texture through 'Pattern Overlay', though i'm not sure which blend mode to use? Or altogether if there's another way to achieve the texture? The aim is for it to be very light so it doesn't detract from the main plan of the building.
