Photoshop :: How Can I Blend Similar Blue Colors Across Aligned Layers?
Oct 11, 2007
I've just used the align layers feature to stitch together 4 pics into a panorama view. It looks great except the sky is different shades of blue for each of the stiched elements.
Is there an easy way of somehow merging the different blues so you end up with a consistent blue across the panoramic view?

I have a series of colored rectangles I'd like to blend into a single rectangle with a smooth blend of the colors, like a rainbow or spectrum.

I am trying to blend two different art brushes with different colors using the blend tool. I'm trying to use two fixed-size line segments of the same length and then applying the two different brushes to those segments ( each art brush is a different color). Then I want to blend them the regular way so their colors transition. However, when I do this, the first shape is a different color, but all subsequent blend steps are the color of the second blended shape. Why is this? It doesn't blend the colors for some reason.

I'm running Windows 7 64Bit running Adobe CS5 Master Collection. But ever since I allowed CS5 Photoshop to control my printer (HP Photosmart Prem 310-C) to do a test print of a graphic that I created all of my Blues print a violet/blue color, no matter what color blue. It has even affected MS Word & MS Project when I try to print blue colored font or Gantt Chart blues will no longer print blue, but will print the same blue/violet color. I've even tried a brilliant blue which will all view great, but prints the same shade of violet blue! All my colors and Blues will view great! I've calibrated my monitor and I've reset my printer several times and still the same thing! I never had this problem before I downloaded Adobe CS5! A strange thing is that I can run check printer test and the data & image that is stored in the printer will print blues perfect, including running a copy direct from the scanner bed and it will produce perfect blues. I almost feel as though Adobe CS5 has possessed my PC and printer, how do I get it back to printing like it did before installing CS5 Master Suite?

I've been aligning layers in Photoshop since the first day I aligned layers in Photoshop but I still can't figure out what logic is used to determine which layer(s) moves when multiple selected layers are aligned using one of the six alignment options.

I have 3 layers
TEXT
SHADOW
BG
the blending options are normal for TEXT and BG, but I have soft light for SHADOW. Now the BG layer actually contains an illustration which makes my shadow look realistic, however what Im trying to do is, save the picture with a transparent background with only TEXT and SHADOW showing, but as soon as I hide BG, the SHADOW layer will go back to the black color I drew and not look like a shadow. I tried merging text and shadow but either the TEXT gets soft light and gets ruined or SHADOW becomes normal and gets ruined. Its very late, ive been trying to figure it out for the past 4 hours so I hope I explained it clearly.

I am retouching scanned images. Here is an enlarged portion of one of the images, to show the type of retouching that I need to do. The green dots are part of the image, and the white background is the color of the paper:
In this case, I want to completely remove the brown spot, and I have selected it with the Patch tool. I want to replace the selected area with the edge of one of the other green dots, and the white background.
Photoshop has the tendency to blend in the unwanted color (brown, in this case) into the replacement pixels. How do I avoid that from happening?

Shapes and text are anti-aliased visibly better with the blending settings in the Advanced Controls section of the Color Settings set as follows: Just as an example, consider the appearance of the edges of this text and circular shape layer in an sRGB document with those settings set vs. cleared:
The difference is subtle, but significant in my opinion, marking the difference between okay quality and good quality. You can see the difference in the partial pixel shading at the curved edges in this enlargement of a portion of the above:
Is there any reason I wouldn't want to just set the above values and use them all the time? I fully understand the concepts of gamma and pixel blending (and I think it's great that Photoshop has this feature), but I ask this question here because there may be subtleties of how Photoshop uses these settings I'm not aware of, and notably they are NOT set this way by default with Photoshop CS6.

I want to create an image like this:
[URL].............
I created text, 2 characters on first line, and then 3 characters on second line. I changed the vertical spacing, so that the characters are overlapping a little. But when I change the blending options for the layer style, I can't get it to look like the link above. I don't want to seperate each character into its own layer.

An image I imported contains an area with quite a few different, yet very similar colors (different shades of the same red). I want to change the complete area to one single red tone. What's the most appropriate approach to this? Especially without loosing the antialiasing at the edges that surround the area.

What does the magic wand tool do on PAINT.NET. I need to know What it is for b4 I can follow the instructions referring to me doing something I have no clue about, since I can not be doing it, as I do not know what the function of this tool is. 6 words (or 10) or less?
Or what has happened to the once great function on Adobe software called smudge? Unless I was dreaming, this was a simple function that would allow one to rub two different colored or shaded areas together, to blend them subtly into one color. This allowed one to blend a color or fix a big flaw, with out days of screwing around fixing 1000s of pixels one by one. I am trying to take the shadow out of the background in a picture, I just need to blend the two colors of white together to get rid of the shadow.
Also, why is crop command gone on my paint.net? It will not work. It is there, but it is lite (gone) and will not work.

I was mid-project when I realized my greys had mysteriously become tinted blue. I then continued messing with every color setting I could find, but nothing worked. And I'm sure it's not a display issue, because my other projects appear just fine. My whites are now (3,0,0,0), in both the document and swatches.

I'm running Win Vista 32bit with 3gig of RAM. When trying to use the Auto-Blend feature of CS4 I get an error message that says Could not Auto-Blend the layers because there is not enough memory (RAM)." The only way I'm able to get this feature to work is if I reduce my image size to less than 1/4 of my original file size. I started with an image that was 4221 pixels wide, and I had to reduce it down to 1000 pixels before the blending feature wold work.
Does anyone know how much RAM this feature needs to work on a full size image? Is there anyway I can set up Vista to allocate more of my RAM to CS4? When I go under preferences > performance, it tells me that I have 1641mb of RAM available. Is there a way I can set this so more of my RAM is allocated to CS4?

When I go to open photos - they are opening in blue-green-purple colors as if a filter is being applied. The color pallette is also appearing with the same blue-purple colors. In the layers pallette - the icon of the image appears in the normal colors and no filters, etc. have been applied. It's all starting from when selecting the photo to be opened in photoshop.

When I make panoramas in Photoshop CS6 (after selecting and preparing individual images in LR4), I sometimes wish to modify Photoshop's automatic blending of layers. An example is when a moving person is in two or more adjacent frames & I wish to use a version from a different frame than PS selects. The layer masks are all either pure white or pure black, thus selecting the portions of each frame that is used, but with no gray portions for blending. Opacity of all layers is 100%. So, some other invisible-to-me mechanism is being used to seamlessly blend the layers. When I try to select portions of a different frame (in areas of overlap) by painting white on a mask and black on layer masks above it in the stack, I can partially make visible the desired area but it appears as partially transparent & thus low contrast. How can I get full control of what is included in the final composite?

I'm having a huge issue in designing my up and coming website.
I've numerous layers within my soon to be designed page - however, a few of these layers are set to different blend modes (Overlay, Screen and Lighten).
I need to ensure that these layers remain looking the way they do on my page when they're part of my flattened site, but it's just not working for me. When I flatten all layers, it looks as I want it - however I can't do that, as I will ultimately be using a tiled background layer, and the background layer I'm using now is only as a guide.
how I can merge down a ('Screen', for example) layer, without it losing its screen look?

I'm using CS6 and wondered of there was a way to change the default blend mode of an adjustment layer?
For example, if you use the Curves adjustment, as well as increasing contrast it also increase saturation. I like to use the "Luminosity" blend mode so that I get the contrast without the saturation. By default, I'd like to be able to specify that any Curves layer I use should use Luminosity blend mode.

I have two layers. One is completely red (r255,g0,b0). The other layer is completely green (r0,g255,b0).
How can I make it so that if I lower the opacity of the green layer (which is above the red layer), to 50% that the result is completely yellow (r255,g255,b0)?
I've tried all the blending options, none of them achieve this basic effect. The closest I got was something that looked like a darker orange.
