I want to fade a text layer with bevel, gradient overlay, and stroke, and mask only seems to fade the gradient, not the original text color, so it doesn't blend with the bg. I can't use gradient overlay for fade either because I'm already using it and it won't fade the stroke anyway.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI can not make anything in 3D. I think in CS3 it doesnt work too. But in graphic programs like MAYA and 3DS MAX i can make 3D objects and others but in Photoshop not. In Photoshop CS 4 I opened new document, with brush i wrote "Hello" and clicked on menu "3D" but there is everything disable :-/. My graphic card is "Ati Mobility Radeon XPRESS 200 series.
View 6 Replies View Relatedmy keyboard short cut for ctrl+ a doesn't work, for some reason. All the other keyboard shortcuts work, except for that one (At least i think so..). I read through numerous threads about why keyboard short cuts do not work. 1. they are cracked copies of photoshop, 2. they are using logitech keyboards.
But I'm not using a cracked copy, and I just upgraded my logitech drivers to the newest ones.. and the problem just started yesterday without any reason. But when I change my short cut from ctrl a to.. something else, say alt+ctrl+a. it works.. but I prefer the old ctrl A.
Right click open with PS7 doesnt work. Every time i select it, it opens in windows picture viewer. But i can open it in illusttrator 4 some reason.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis tutorial applies the filter 'unsharp mask' on the 'stone texture copy' layer (pic 1). After that the same filter on the layer beneath 'stone texture'(pic 2). After this: Edit-Fade Unsharp Mask (pic 3+4). I'm doing exact the same steps but I don't get this 'Fade Unsharp Mask' but only 'Fade..' and this is greyed out. If you notice he uses the unsharp filter on the stone texture and not the masks.
I tried this in cs3 and cs2 and both give the same result.
effect 1. I want to make an intro for my logo and I was thinking for an effect like this one we see in harry potter (boggart). I don't want something so advanced like this in the image nor 3d. I just want to use this effect to switch from one text to a second text before ending showing my logo.

so the it's something like this: text1 --> effect ---> text 2 (text1 disappears) --> effect ---> my logo appears (text2 disappears)
effect 2: this is something more easy. Instead of using the first effect for my intro I want to use elliptical orbits for my texts. So the text1 will look like they start from the center of the screen coming closer and closer to the viewer (user) and then they will go back and dissapear so the next text2 will start.
general question: how do I perform cylindrical/ spherical orbits for texts?
On screen this show when doing a simple layer mask fade with the gradient tool. (notice the hard transition in the black) The if I flatten it it looks fine, like this.
I don't understand why all of a sudden it is doing this, same with brushes. Just seems to happen in the layer mask which is really deceiving.
I have CS6. I used to be able to fade out brushes under the Size Jitter in Shape Dynamics but can't now. I open up CS3 and I can do it in there. why it isn't working in CS6?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to fade some text from 100% opacity to 0% over 45 frames, and end my layer when it gets to 0, (Thus making it dissapear?). My text stays there with 0% opacity (Slightly visable), untill the next layer begins.. I don't understand why I can see it when the layer it's on has ended. I preview it with audio using num 0.

This has happened to me multiple times and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Some of my text fades and dissapears normally, but I don't understand what's different about it. I'm probably doing lots wrong, but I'm pretty new and you have to start somewhere! This is also my first post, hope it's in the right forum.
it allows me to save normaly, but if i want/need to change a file type, or name and i click "save as" the save as window pops up for a brief moment then disapears.and photoshop feezes. it doesnt really crash, it just freezes and i have to go into task manger to close it.
im a digital artist so my cs3 program is really important...i need it up and running again!! any help here?

besides the program lagging ocassionaly with big file loads/saves everything works fine. its just this problem that keeps me from workng!
I have win XP + Adobe CS 3 Standard installed on my pc: when i open more than one photo at the same time with Photoshop CS3, the application immediately close.
I have two pc with the same configuration and i have the same problem. Note that i have Adobe CS2 installed + upgrade to Adobe CS 3. If i use Photoshop CS 2 i dont have trouble.
I just installed PS CS6 and when I apply a layer mask to a layer I can paint black to hide the layer, but when painting white to restore the layer there is no effect. White paint will not restore the layer or modify the mask at all. The black paint works as usual to hide the layer, but how do I restore an area in a layer mask if not painting white?

View 4 Replies View Relatedim trying to make an adjustment to one section of my footage.i followed other instructions elsewhere about making a mask on a solid and then linking the solid to a null object, which has tracking footage (i was thinking i could motion track a mask?)

so i did that, but tracking motion doesnt work, the mask moves everywhere so i went in and moved the mask points at keyframes, which was annoying. but now i can't add adjustments to the solid where the mask is. i turned the solid into an adjustment layer but adding color correction adjustments doesn't work.

also is there an easier way to motion track something that goes completely off screen or out of the comp window? cause its a handheld shot and theres like a pan, and im trying to track the mask but it doesnt really work or stay around the area it needs to.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi have a shot in an office where i have a subject walking in front of some really bright windows. i added an adjustment layer and made 6 mask squares over the windows and brought down the brightness a bit. of course when the subject walks in front of those windows you can see the shaded mask on him.

not sure if i should make another thread but ill ask this as well in here...in the same shot because of the bright windows originally the rest of the scene inside the office is dark. how do i brighten the rest of the scene without affecting the windows? i tried duplicating the adjustment layer with the 6 masks and inverting them so i can brighten everything but windows but no matter what i did i couldnt get it to work.Â
I am trying to set a black layer mask and use the eraser tool to edit it. Unfortunately the eraser tool is not responsive. I recently did a round of software updates for CS6.Â

Much like in Photoshop, where you can achieve this by using vector masks. Let`s say I have a video-layer that has a square mask added to it. The mask is already perfectly positioned in the comp. I don`t want to move or adjust it any further. But I`m not pleased with the framing of the source material. If I`m moving the frame then, the masks moves along with it. Is there a way to get rid of this cohesion of mask and layer?

my problem is i want this mask to be animated, and to have a watercolor felling. so i thought of using video footage of ink, you know the typical video of ink falling into water and sort of expanding.

i have no problem making the video appear inside the ink stain, but my question is: is there a way to make a video follow the shape of an object? so i can make this ink footage adapt to different mask forms, for example a circle or a triangle, or even more complicated forms like, i dont know a human silhouette?

i am thinking something that stretches the video along a path with the shape of the object may be the solution.

My goal is to create a mask on the solid layer to hide a certain area of what I drew... but it doesn't change anything.
I noticed when I add another effect to the layer (such as curves) the mask does hide that area of the effect, but thats not exactly what I'm trying to do.
