Aug 9, 2011I have just purchased Corel draw x5 and need to change the colour management default settings but when i go to tools, colour management, i only have document settings! I have done this with new pages, old pages, images on pages etc and no luck.

Sep 30, 2012I cannot change printer profiles in Colour Management on PSE10. Whenever I try to do this it looks like I have changed it, and click OK...but when I check back it has actually not taken effect and has defaulted back to the original stored profile. Consequently I cannot use different paper types now. This has only just started happening and was ok before. I am using Mac OS 10.7.5 along with an Epson R3000.

May 23, 2013Adobe Colour Management Print defaults seems to be assigning RGB meta to B&W pages and incurring Colour Print charges for B&W prints.I can manually change the print colour management to Printer managed on a per print basis instead of the default adobe colour managed which "cures" the issue but I do not seem to be able to save that setting as the default.

Jul 27, 2009I just a problem studio while swapping over 2 Windows XP machines, having swapped over the 1st PC Photoshop 7 lost it's colour management settings.All images viewed now appeared hazey to the user. So we swapped the PCs back to the original monitor however the colour settings we are prompted forwhen opening Photoshop 7 have now been lost..We tried alll the colour management templates listed but these are not right.Is there away we can restore the original settings? Could these settings be saved in a file somewhere on the PCs hard disk?

Nov 28, 2012 I haven't had this problem in CS5 photoshop but when I upgraded to CS6 photoshop I followed the recommended settings like using ProPhoto RBG.I edit in the working space colour management but not always have the same results on screen...have calibrated my monitor.
Then when it does look correct on screen and I re-import into Photoshop, my picture turns out bright red and I need to use Adobe RBG (1998). I am saving the pictures with the profile embedded, works better with Adobe RBG.What should I be using as the settings as well as management policies - currently Preserve Embedded Profiles?I don't want to have nice looking pictures in Photoshop and then have them print incorrectly or look terrible on another monitor

Jul 18, 2009I'm not sure what to set my color management settings up as! I've been told a few different things! I shoot in Adobe RGB, but I've been told to set my working space to SRGB and then to set the color management policies to "Convert to working RGB, CMYK, and Gray." Then I've also been told to set the working space to Adobe RGB (1998) and then under "coversion options" change the "intent" to "perceptual." Regardless of which setting I try to use, the coloring when I view it in Photoshop is much more yellow than when I view it on my monitor. I have callibrated my monitor, so I'm assuming the problem is within Photoshop. How do I fix this so that the colors match?

Oct 3, 2013We are just in the process of setting up Corel X6 for deployment in our office and we are trying to get a handle on the colour settings. We have upgraded from CD11 which had very little in the way of colour management and so we are somewhat inexperienced in how to set up.
We have two production printers an OKI 821 and a Ricoh C820DN which we print to using PCL drivers. We believe that we therefore need to use RGB as our colour mode and use an ICC profile for each printer for colour correction with colour management switched off on the driver. Is this correct? We've had a try this afternoon and the colours on the prints differ greatly from the display (which has been profiled using an xrite i1pro calibrator). They also differ from each other.
The monitor profile is set as the device profile in the windows colour system, and we are using that as our engine in corel.

Mar 16, 2012I recently purchased an Epson R3000 and am having terrible trouble with the colour management from Corel. Everything I output has a very yellowy/browny caste over it when compared to my screen (for example a slightly warm grey comes out brown-grey and light blues come out very murky in colour tone). I have applied Adobe RGB (1998) to the document, opted for Corel to manage colours and turned off colour management in my printer. I am also using IC profiles specific to my papers. My monitor is self-calibrated but up until now the colour difference between screen and output device has never been a problem.

Nov 21, 2013I run a little print shop as part of our Charity and we produce T-shirts, sublimation mugs and coasters as well as some paper based goods.
I've read a lot about color management but what is the best way to to set up to print to our postscript printers (one OKI 821 & a Ricoh 820DN)
Currently I have the default workspace set to CMYK, sRGB & coated Fogra39 profiles, color engine as WCS, preserve black off and the rest as defaults.
My question is how to set up for printing to postscript? I've read that this is best for color accuracy and allows for different colour spaces with in the same document. We print a lot of cards for local artists whose images are edited in Photoshop and output as srgb jpegs. We then import these into corel and add writing using the standard CMYK palette.
At the moment when we print we have corel set to manage colours, output colours as native as there is a combination of of RGB & CMYK elements. Within the printer driver we set either CM off or ICM managed by host, depending on the driver.
Is this correct? I did have a thought that this combination may mean that effectively there is no color management happening at all!?! It is useful for us to keep the jpegs as RGB because some customers will require their artwork on sublimation items as well which require transfers being produced on a non-postscript device. For these we use a sublimation ICC profile and a PCL driver and it works well.
With postscript I have found that outputting the file as cmyk rather than native dulls the image considerably. However, using native output gives different results from both of our printers.

I recently calibrated my monitor with a Spyder 4 Express. I process my RAW images in ACDSee Pro, saving them as tiffs - ProPhoto RGB. Yet when I open the same images in PP, skin tones are quite saturated and I'm wondering why? Prior to calibrating my monitor, everything was normal across all my programs, as it is now in ACDSee Pro. But not with PP and OnOne. Something has changed between the programs and I can't see what. I've attached my current Color Management settings from PP.

See the red marked area, where it is not accepting to select the rgb or cmyk. Only accepts the Lab only. It is changing the X5 but not in the X6.

Oct 27, 2012I changed my Color Settings in the Edit menu to 'Best Workflow CS4' which apparently synchronized my color settings, but the printed colors are now muddy and have lost their vibrancy.
It is a US orientated setting for US inks. I am in the UK and use Ilford Smooth Pearl Paper with the appropriate color profiles loaded. What are the recommended color settings for printing in the UK?? Is it Europress 2 which is what I'm now trying out?

The problem is under, - Colour Settings - "Working Spaces"- "CMYK" - they recommend the setting should be "Euroscale coated v2" but, i am not given this choice in the dropdown menu. All that is available is - "PS 5 default", "PS 4 default", "Custom", "Load CMYK", "Save CMYK" and, a greyed out "Other".
I have also noticed that under "Colour Settings - Settings" - there is not the same choice that I have seen discussed in forums, eg I have seen "North America General Purpose 2" or "Europe General Purpose 2" mentioned, these choices do not appear in my drop down menu, only "PS 5 default spaces", "Custom", "Untitled" and a greyed out "Other" are visible.
I suspect that the reason behind this problem is that somewhere else in CS2 i have inadverently changed a setting which affects my choices in the Colour settings.

Photoshop Elements :: Printing With Color Management?
Feb 9, 2013I'm unable to get correct results in printing through Photoshop Element 11 and my printer Epson R1800.Though, it works correctly with other software that support colorsync (ex: DXO Optic Pro 8).
I tried every combination with my ICC profile : "let photshop manage colors", "let printer manage colors", ... Each time the resulting print is too dark.Even worth : when I print several time the same photo with the same parameter under Photoshop Element, I don't get the same result each time.
On DXO, I print by activating colorsync with the same profile I use with Photoshop Element and the result is always great with each time correct colors rendition.
My configuration is : iMac 24 2007 + Mountain Lion + Epson R1800.
3ds Max :: Custom Colour Settings Not Being Remembered?
Dec 30, 2012I installed 2013 and went straight to the customize settings to tone down the grid intensity. It's always the first thing I do. The colour changes but if I restart max the setting reverts to the installed default. Strange thing is, I also change the viewport active border colour, but that setting is being remembered fine.
I can't remember ever having problems installing max, but first the 2013 installer caused all sorts of problems with .NET, and now this.

Jan 19, 2013I've recently purchased some Fotospeed printing paper and want to get a custom profile for this. The instructions sent to me by the company only covers Elements 1 - 9. These tell me to select Print then, under Color Management set Color Handling to No Color Management. However, this option on longer is available in Elements 11. I've also checked your website for Elements 10 and it would appear that this option was still available in that version. How can I get around this in Elements 11?

Oct 19, 2011read that color management pdf by gennady petrov and tried a few things he wrote. I turned off color management in the printer driver, chose corel to manage color, and the image default profile sRGBxxxxx. picture was way dark and ugly. tried several other profiles and same dark picture. hmm that did not work so well.
went back to the printer driver and disabled no color management, and chose the profile Adobe RGB. still kept corel as manager and chose A RGB as the profile and the print looked spot on. Have not had problems printing from corel because I have come up with my own system, but was quite surprised at the result from turning off color management in the printer driver.
Xara :: Colour Settings On Custom Brush?
Aug 28, 2012What I am trying to do is to have a flat vector brush in black that I can change to whatever colour I want later just be selecting the colour from the colour bar while I am working.
So. When I edit the brush I go to the fill Properties tab and select 'Local colours replace - all brush colours' and save. The trouble is that it does not seem to save this setting. When I edit the brush again it reverts to 'local colours replace - named colours' I get the same problem if I 'save as new'.

Oct 12, 2013I'm going to try this again. Using PS CC for photographers, that is Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5.x, new iMac running Mavericks.
Having processed an image in LR and PS, and saved as TIFF back to LR. All is well.
If and when I subsequently take the TIFF back into PS for further tweaks and again save as TIFF back to LR, replacing the original TIFF, I then get the Metadata Conflict warning, the exclamation mark.
As far as metadata goes, I don't want to lose what I did in LR....that is, keywords, color codes, captions, gps data, etc. I do want to retain the additional adjustments I made in PS.
I've noticed that when I choose to 'import settings from disc' that the color code disappears and I have to re-do it.
If I select the 'overwrite with LR settings' option, my concern is that I lose those PS adjustments.
My questions is: WHAT settings could have been changed in my round trip to PS that trigger the warning?

Mar 10, 2013When I load pics into CS4 or Elements6, there is a heavy magenta overcast, particularly on flesh tones; this doesn't occur if load the same pics into Xara Designer Pro X. This phenomenon does not occur either if I upload a picture to this forum!!! I have tried twiddling with Hue, Saturation and Lightness but I cannot get the actual colours across the whole picture. On printing the picture the overcast is still present.
