Photoshop :: Canon Pixma Pro9000 XPS Driver?

Jan 8, 2013

I get good colour reproduction from my Canonn Pixma Pro9000 printer with Photoshop managing colour.    However when using the XPS driver version (which should give finer gradation of colour), this is not the case.  I have been told by Canon that this is because the driver in Photoshop is the basic one, and that I should find the XPS driver on the Adobe site and download it.  However, I have been unable to find the driver.

Lightroom :: Misaligned Print With 3.6 To Canon Pro9000 In Mac OS 10.6

Right after updating to 3.6 I started having printer problems on my Canon Pro9000. No matter what size I print, all the prints are seriously misaligned. When using any other program I don't have this problem (Just Lightroom Only). Is there a way to go back to the previous version which I think was 3.3 or is there a fix for this?

Lightroom :: Setting Up Canon Pixma Pro 9500 MkII With 5.2?

Dec 27, 2013

I have a lot of experience as a photographer but none as a printer. I normally work with a dedicated print lab that knows my settings and such, but I bought a Canon Pixma Pro 9500 MkII for printing on the side personal projects.

The thing is, I don't know jack about printing. I do want to learn however. I plan on printing everything from Lightroom in stead of Photoshop since my retouched PSD files end up back in my catalog.

My monitors are all calibrated for color accuracy. How do I set up my printer with Lightroom to get good results and such.

Lightroom :: Borderless Printing On Canon Pixma 9000 Mk II

Apr 18, 2012

I've been experiencing a problem when printing borderless on with LR4. Although I'm using borderless print settings, all margins are 0 and cell size is 4x6 or 8x10 or whatever it needs to be, the bottom edge of all photos has a 1-2mm line of unprinted paper.

This is also visible on the print preview of LR4, as you can see on the bottom of the attached image.

CorelDRAW X5 :: Color Management - Turning Off Printer Management?

Oct 19, 2011

read that color management pdf by gennady petrov and tried a few things he wrote. I turned off color management in the printer driver, chose corel to manage color, and the image default  profile sRGBxxxxx. picture was way dark and ugly. tried several other profiles and same dark picture. hmm that did not work so well.

went back to the printer driver and disabled no color management, and chose the profile Adobe RGB. still kept corel as manager and chose A RGB as the profile and the print looked spot on. Have not had problems printing from corel because I have come up with my own system, but was quite surprised at the result from turning off color management in the printer driver.

Photoshop :: Adobe Colour Management Print Defaults Assigning RGB To B&W Pages And Incurring Colour Print Charges

Photoshop :: Bridge CS3 Turning Canon Thumbnails...

Apr 22, 2008

When I open a Canon image file folder containing cr2 raw and jpeg images from my canon 40D In Bridge CS3, at first the thubmnail images show up with the beautiful color that I shot. Then, one by one, *poof*, *poof*, poof*, bridge cs3 turns the thumbnails into garbage by darkening and desaturating each and every one of them. What the hay? The images are shot using the adobe rgb color space in the 40D.

What is Bridge cs3 doing to my image thumbnails? Why is Bridge cs3 doing this to my image thumbnails? How can I stop Bridge cs3 from doing this to my image thumbnails?

When I use the Canon program DPP to open the images, the thumbnails look great (jpg or raw), and the images look great when I open them. But I don't want to use DPP. I want to use Adobe Bridge & CS3.

Photoshop :: Colour Management - Embedded Profiles - CS5?

Nov 28, 2012

I haven't had this problem in CS5 photoshop but when I upgraded to CS6 photoshop I followed the recommended settings like using ProPhoto RBG.I edit in the working space colour management but not always have the same results on screen...have calibrated my monitor.

Then when it does look correct on screen and I re-import into Photoshop, my picture turns out bright red and I need to use Adobe RBG (1998).  I am saving the pictures with the profile embedded, works better with Adobe RBG.What should I be using as the settings as well as management policies - currently Preserve Embedded Profiles?I don't want to have nice looking pictures in Photoshop and then have them print incorrectly or look terrible on another monitor

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Colour Management In PCL Printing?

Oct 3, 2013

We are just in the process of setting up Corel X6 for deployment in our office and we are trying to get a handle on the colour settings. We have upgraded from CD11 which  had very little in the way of colour management and so we are somewhat inexperienced in how to set up.

We have two production printers an OKI 821 and a Ricoh C820DN which we print to using PCL drivers. We believe that we therefore need to use RGB as our colour mode and use an ICC profile for each printer for colour correction with colour management switched off on the driver. Is this correct? We've had a try this afternoon and the colours on the prints differ greatly from the display (which has been profiled using an xrite i1pro calibrator). They also differ from each other.

The monitor profile is set as the device profile in the windows colour system, and we are using that as our engine in corel.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Colour Management With Epson R3000

Mar 16, 2012

I recently purchased an Epson R3000 and am having terrible trouble with the colour management from Corel. Everything I output has a very yellowy/browny caste over it when compared to my screen (for example a slightly warm grey comes out brown-grey and light blues come out very murky in colour tone). I have applied Adobe RGB (1998) to the document, opted for Corel to manage colours and turned off colour management in my printer. I am also using IC profiles specific to my papers. My monitor is self-calibrated but up until now the colour difference between screen and output device has never been a problem.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Colour Management And Postscript Printing

Nov 21, 2013

I run a little print shop as part of our Charity and we produce T-shirts, sublimation mugs and coasters as well as some paper based goods.

I've read a lot about color management but what is the best way to to set up to print to our postscript printers (one OKI 821 & a Ricoh 820DN)

Currently I have the default workspace set to CMYK, sRGB & coated Fogra39 profiles,  color engine as WCS, preserve black off and the rest as defaults.

My question is how to set up for printing to postscript? I've read that this is best for color accuracy and allows for different colour spaces with in the same document. We print a lot of cards for local artists whose images are edited in Photoshop and output as srgb jpegs. We then import these into corel and add writing using the standard CMYK palette.

At the moment when we print we have corel set to manage colours, output colours as native as there is a combination of of RGB & CMYK elements. Within the printer driver we set either CM off or ICM managed by host, depending on the driver.

Is this correct? I did have a thought that this combination may mean that effectively there is no color management happening at all!?! It is useful for us to keep the jpegs as RGB because some customers will require their artwork on sublimation items as well  which require transfers being produced on a non-postscript device. For these we use a sublimation ICC profile and a PCL driver and it works well.

With postscript I have found that outputting the file as cmyk rather than native dulls the image considerably. However, using native output gives different results from both of our printers.

Photoshop :: Colour Profiling With Canon IP6600D

Jan 2, 2013

I am using the above printer on Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy with Canon original inks. If I let PS (CS6) manage the profile and set the printer driver color correction to NONE the driver set itself back to Driver Matching setting straight away. The result is extremely saturated colors in some areas.

If I don't allow PS to manage the profile but let the driver do it automatically the color results are much better but... surely it would be better to have PS managing the color profiles.

I think I have finally figured out how to sync all my color management settings with CS2, Lightroom, my Nikon300, and my jpg viewing software. All are set to color profile sRGB and a picture looks almost exactly the same in every program.

My main use with these programs and the desire for good color is shooting a ton of basketball game pictures and color correcting and painting them in Photoshop.

My question: Is sRGB the best choice color profile, or does anyone have an opinion on an alternative profile.

Any reason why Automator's conversion would not be acceptable?

Now, I think I can go back and recover all the images which is great. But they will not have their original names or folder structure. So I'm not sure how to handle this situation with my library. I don't mind if I lose all my edits on those photos, but I want to have a clean library and nothing unlinked.

Whats the best way to get my libarary back into good shape after I have my recovered files?

Lightroom :: 3 - Color Management Printing To Epson 9900?

Nov 23, 2011

I am a Pro Photographer, and have been printing via Photoshop for years, and am trying to print to my Epson 9900 through LR3.

Workflow is simple, Nikon .nef (Raw) files are imported into LR3 - all monitors are calibrated w/ pro-grade color management colorimeters/software ....

Everything looks great on screen, and the TIF files exported and picked up in Photoshop and then printed, look great.

However, my files printed directly from LR look horrible - as if color profiles are being applied twice somewhere, but I can't figure out where.

Images are shot in AdobeRGB color space.

Color management in the Epson 9900 print driver is turned OFF. (same as every other program I print from)

My LR3 screen for printing looks like this:

Lightroom :: Does Turning Off Modules Speed Up 4

Apr 18, 2012

It seems that in Lightroom 4 you have the ability to turn off individual modules by right clicking on them and unchecking whichever ones you don't use.  I'm wondering if when modules are unchecked, does that increase the speed or performance of the system?

I recently upgraded to LR4 from 3 and definitely experienced a major slow down.  That being said, when I uncheck everything except the development module, the sluggishness completely disappears.  Is turning individual modules off actually improve performance?
