In PS CS5 Extended latest version. I select all, then go to Select|Modify, and all choices are grayed out other than border. This is an 8 bit RGB image. The layer is selected. I also tried flattening it. I also tried creating a new image, RGB 8 bit depth. Also 16 bit. Nothing works.
I double checked CS3 and this works in CS3, but not CS5.
When selecting an area I would like to modify/transform/reshape just that selection (the marching ants) without moving the underlying image. How do I do that?
I have a edu version of Adobe creative suite CS2. I tried to learn some text effects in online turtorial but I found that feather, modify, grow, similar, transform selection submenu are disabled in the select main menu. I would like to know why and how to make them enable.
In older versions of Illustrator, I used to be able to make a selection of multiple objects and give them a stroke or other attribute. Now it says “Mixed Appearance” and I can't do anything to the selection. How do I modify a multi-selection if it says “Mixed Appearance?”
Then I copy that selection set multiple times in a loop. What I would like to do is then rotate (or otherwise modify) the last copied group of items. If I rotate "last" it will only accept the last drawn item, so only one item in the group of copied objects will rotate.
Here is the portion of simple code I am using right now (it's in a loop so all variables with 'Next' are changing each time):
I have PSE 10. I'm trying to change a layout to customize my output. I'm the admin but I get the following error when trying to save a change. "You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact your admin for permission". I checked the file properties and the only box not checked is the special permissions which is grayed out. I see info saying this is how you modify the layouts but not sure why mine isn't accepting.
When creating a selection Command using the PromptXXXOptions and PromptXXXResult. The entities are selected on the current view, but once the selection ends the entities return to an unselected state.
Is it possible to leave them in selection mode.
I want to this, because it will be better to use Editor.SelectImplied() instead of saving the last selection object Ids.
I am new to Photoshop 7 and would like to take an image from one photo and save that selection with a transparent backround so I can use it later on to create a flyer with the image. How do I save my selections and use them later on?
In Elements 2.0, the selection tool literally only selects what you want it to (like a brush). In CS6, I can't find a similar selection tool. Quick select always makes the selection too broad and I end up having to constantly add and subtract from it to little avail. I know there's more advanced ways to define the selection, but I want to know how to easily select only what's in my brush path.
I cannot get the tools option to be available in Adobe Photoshop 11. I can see the selection tool that lets you outline a person or thing but cannot get to the selection tool that allows you to select a total picture from a scanned page with multiple photos on it. I would like to have this selection tool appear on the left side of the screen as I use it so much. how to get it there and most important - get it to stay there?
Why can't i move the pasted selection. it was cut from another photo and copied to this one. It was dropped in the middle of the photo but the move tool has no effect on it.
In Shop shop 6, I can bring up Editor with more than one photo file, click on Windows and then cascade to make a colage of photos. When I try this in Photoshop 10 cascade is not available under Window even though it is there. How do I make it availabe in Photoshop 10?
When I select "crop," and crop my picture, I then click on crop again and the step is inactivated until the next crop. I cannot do that with any other tools. If I select the quick selection brush and make a selection, how do I get it to do what I want? Then, after the action is completed, how do I deactivate the quick selection brush? (I have Adobe Photo Elements 11 and my OS is Windows 7, on an hp computer.
I have a problem using the Selectiom tool (mask). I am trying to repair an older photo with folds and scratchs. After using the Selection tool and masking the children, I then inversed the selection and tried to apply the Scratch and Dust filter but the program crashed every time I tried. I was however able to use the quick selection tool and apply the scratch and dust filter without any trouble. I would like to use the selection tool but I am having difficulty as noted above. I am using a IMac computer with OX10.8.3. I also reinstalled Photo Elements 10.
When I tap on an image in my Window's photo folder, a selection of programs pop up, but PS Elements is not one of the. When I press on browse, PS Elements 11 can not be found.
Recently started experiencing a problem in PSE11. When I select an area of an image using the rectangle or lasso tool, the area I've selected immediately fades to black. Modifying the selection area makes it visible again for just a moment, then it fades out again. I know that the underlying image is not affected, as I can apply edits (filters, etc.), and the image returns to normal when I deselect. However, this is making image editing difficult. I'm on a MacBook Pro, running Snow Leopard (10.6.8). I also use Lightroom 4, and have PSE set as the external editor.
I uninstalled and reinstalled PSE, which worked for a while, but the problem has returned.
I am trying to move a feathered photo (using cookie cutter) from the Elements screen to a colored page word document. I can move it OK. It is feathered. But it still has a square white background surrounding the feather. When I look at the Layer panel , the transparent added layer is showing nothing. The selection did not appear on the layer. But the background is feathered.
I am looking to copy to a named folder a selection of photos that I intend to incorporate in to a ProShow Gold slide show so that ProShow will always know where they are. When I select copy I don't see an option to copy to a specific location.
