Photoshop :: Save/load Selection
May 16, 2006I am currently working on a project that requires me to resize and cut out every flag in the world. I have been given an Oval shape that every flag has to be exactly like.
I have used the actions option to automatically resize all the flags, and now I would really like if someone could tell me how to save the selection that I am supposed to use, so I could make an action thing for that as well.
My question is: How do I save a selection from one project, so I can open it in any other project?

Apr 19, 2009I completed my path and clicked Load Path as a Selection. I have 2 cut out areas (holes) in the path, and the selection process did not include the holes, even though the path shows them. I had the button pressed "exclude overlapping path areas" when I made the path. How do I get the path to select the outline, minus the "holes"? Kind of like a coffee cup profile with the hole in the handle excluded to show just the outline of the cup.

How is this done, do you think? A custom brush of some kind? Or load a selection and mask the color?I can't find the exact poster right now (that figures!) but sometime this texture looks almost like poor ink coverage, or a bad Zerox copy (low toner.)
Photoshop :: Delete Selection On Shape Layer
Sep 30, 2013I have a photograph as my background layer, and then a shape layer on top of that. I want to put a font layer on top of the shape, select the font, and then delete the selection on the shape layer, so whenever I hide the font, the photograph shows through the shape, but every time I do it, no matter the tolerance, the font that is in the shape looks pixelated. I've reset all of my settings, but I'm not sure what to do.

The whole panel selection is not there. If I make a selection of at least two elements I get the load selection button on the modify tab. Is this as design or as forgotten?

Mar 13, 2013I 'open as layers' an image (a .bmp if that matters), use the rectangle-select tool to outline a portion of the image, then press Delete (or click Edit/Clear), expecting that my selection will be erased, but instead it deletes the entire picture.
I've been at this for an hour. "They" say that doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result is evidence of insanity...

N01 problem:
It planted at various times on different files. But the big problem of the crash while recording that is created 0ko tmp file is unusable. And can not find a trace of my PSD was yet already registered.I do not remember this problem was present on the CS6, and frankly it's boring, because I lost all my work wanting tt simply record.

N02 problem:
Other problems also on CC, when opening a file CS6 on a form, direct selection tool is impossible to use it does not select the form ... forced to spend a strange manipulation page, you must click on the shape tool, click on the layer in question and re click on direct selection tool. a series of strange actions ... whereas before it worked very well.A contratio if the form was created directly in CC no worries direct selection.

Illustrator :: Using Text As Selection - Select And Delete To Create Transparency
May 17, 2013I am trying to create a very simple logo. Basically, I created two layers: one with the letter M and the other with the letter W. I now want to place another letter over top of them and then select it so I can delete the shape of the third letter from the other two and essentially be able to see the transparent background through the third letter.

I have done this in PS CS2 no problem, but I am trying to do it in illustrator so I can resize the design for anything from a business card to a billboard if needed. Bottom line is I need a solution that wont effect me being able to resize the vecotr to crazy sizes.

In the image below, the "S" is just a white letter. I need it to be a cut out through the M and W so that whatever Background it is on the page or document shows through that S space.

Jun 3, 2013I've got a lot of scenes that have become exceedingly slow to save and load. Like often taking 10 to 20 minutes to save. With looming deadlines this is becoming really desperate! I've tried merging into a new scene, running scripts to clean out notetracks etc. Even after deleting every object and material, and resetting all render settings, the file is still inexplicably slow. Mar 18, 2014I put the elements 12 disk in my DVD drive and it spens about 4 minutes trying to get going. The lights on the drive flash occasionally, and you can hear it trying to go. I go to "my computer" to check the "drive" folder and it never appears for me to click on it and open it. It also doesn't automatically load which I have turned on. I have verified it is a DVD drive.

Feb 6, 2005When using the magnetic lasso tool a selection may be made and saved. With that selection still active another selection may be added to it and saved. This technique can be used until the entire picture is saved with each selection including all previous selections.
I would like to use the pen tool instead of the lasso tool. Is there any way that I can do what I explained in the 2nd paragraph with the pen tool.
