I am currently working on a project that requires me to resize and cut out every flag in the world. I have been given an Oval shape that every flag has to be exactly like.
I have used the actions option to automatically resize all the flags, and now I would really like if someone could tell me how to save the selection that I am supposed to use, so I could make an action thing for that as well.
My question is: How do I save a selection from one project, so I can open it in any other project?
I completed my path and clicked Load Path as a Selection. I have 2 cut out areas (holes) in the path, and the selection process did not include the holes, even though the path shows them. I had the button pressed "exclude overlapping path areas" when I made the path. How do I get the path to select the outline, minus the "holes"? Kind of like a coffee cup profile with the hole in the handle excluded to show just the outline of the cup.
I'm seeing a lot of poster art these days online, and many of them have a really nice textured effect to the color fills. It's not your typical Photoshop filter, however.[URL]...
How is this done, do you think? A custom brush of some kind? Or load a selection and mask the color?I can't find the exact poster right now (that figures!) but sometime this texture looks almost like poor ink coverage, or a bad Zerox copy (low toner.)
When I save a selection in the family editor I can't seem to find the load selection button on the manage tab like you would in the project environment. The whole panel selection is not there. If I make a selection of at least two elements I get the load selection button on the modify tab. Is this as design or as forgotten?  At this moment it seems I first have to make a selection in order to load another selection.Â
I MAss space across a strange problem.  I chose a number of elements drawn ,And then I needed them again in the future I choose,  Thus after selecting elements Click on the Save  Selection And I value Enter for selected elements.  Now that I'm on Manege Selection panel is not,Is not Load Selection Options.  In none of the family environment.....
When we choose an element appears,But the project environment There are icons at the Manege.  Project Tab:  Mass and Family :Â
I've got a lot of scenes that have become exceedingly slow to save and load. Like often taking 10 to 20 minutes to save. With looming deadlines this is becoming really desperate! I've tried merging into a new scene, running scripts to clean out notetracks etc. Even after deleting every object and material, and resetting all render settings, the file is still inexplicably slow. See attached example.
This has been my one and only problem with PS since I started using it for web work many years ago. Fireworks can do it, if anyone can tell how to do it in PS I'd be wrapped...
I'm using CS3 extended. Say I have a doc 640x480. I select a small section to use on a web page, say... 150x100 with the marque and I want to save only that selection for the web. Code:
I was looking at some of the image saving features in the cloud. Occurred to me that it would be great to have cloud capabilities in the PDN file menu.
I have Mac OS X with PS CS5. Is there a way to save an image in which I have selected a portion of an image, and have the selection marquee (marching ants) be part of the saved file so that when I reopen the file, the selection marquee is still visible?
When using the magnetic lasso tool a selection may be made and saved. With that selection still active another selection may be added to it and saved. This technique can be used until the entire picture is saved with each selection including all previous selections.
I would like to use the pen tool instead of the lasso tool. Is there any way that I can do what I explained in the 2nd paragraph with the pen tool.
I am new to Photoshop 7 and would like to take an image from one photo and save that selection with a transparent backround so I can use it later on to create a flyer with the image. How do I save my selections and use them later on?
I'm wanting to know how to fix this issue? Each time I create actions it has the "Save Actions" selection grayed out. So every time photoshop decides to have a fit and kill on itself all my actions are wiped out then I have to recreate them, rinse and repeat.
i keep getting an error message that the selection is empty when i try to create a new layer-via copy after using the rectangle marque selection tool then refining the edge/feathering my photo...
I just installed the latest 2013.5 Extension release. When trying to perform a load saved weights from the Muscle menu, I receive the following error when switching the Load By type to World Pos.
// Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2013.5/scripts/muscle/cMuscleSaveWeights.mel line 663: Object 'tfTol' not found. //
I've just switched to autocad 2012, and when I'm opening dwg files it takes up to 2-3 minutes to open and save them. Autocad 2007 opens and saves the same files in mere seconds without problems.
How to save my workspace and load onto another machine? Both systems are running AutoCad 2011 and may soon change to 2012.
I figured out how to customize the ribbon and panels, and I even customized my shortcut menus. I then created my Workspace and "Saved As". Now how do I get this workspace loaded onto my Laptop with a seperate AutoCad License?
I use Photoshop to design interfaces and then cut down the graphics, by using the rectangular marquee tool and selecting the area that I want to save, copy-merged and then paste into a new document, of the correct canvas size according to the selection area, and then save for web..I end up with dozens of open windows all "Untitled" something, unsaved.  All I want is being able to select  an area in my document using the marquee tool and then select from File a save function like "Save selection for web and devices...".  Perhapse this option could be in the "Save for web and devices.." dialog, where you could select from a dropdown the following: "Entire document" (default) "The entire selected area" "Trimmed down selected area"
Since upgrading to Illustrator 17.1 I can no longer select slices in the Save for Web dialog, nor can I select a slice on a different layer than the one it was created on.
I'm using the file dialog snippet as the foundation for a save as dialog box for saving a new copy of my template assembly to a project folder. Is there a way to disable the ability to click on a file in the window which puts that filename in the input box? The assembly file name is standardized and pre-"calculated" by my code and its a decent hassle if you accidentally click another file because the user would either have to rewrite the file name by hand, or cancel out of the dialog box and re-navigate to the project folder.  Inventor 2013 SP 1.1
I have a project that suddenly won't load. I have 25 versions of it, I save it under a new file name each time in case I need to go back to an older version.
Trouble is most of the versions won't load! Only the very early versions will load. Some of the later version start to load then disappear.
Hardware hasn't changed on the PC, maybe the video drivers have been updated, thats about it.
I have been continually annoyed, when creating a vector mask-heavy document, with trying to select vector mask points by dragging a rectangle only to find that it instead selects a layer higher up which has a larger vector mask. Â The only workaround is to manually select the points of my mask or to drag a rectangle from outside the canvas, meaning I have to zoom out or scroll to the edge - sometimes annoying if I am zoomed in quite far. Â I know that the move tool can be set to automatically select a layer, depending on what part of the image is clicked, but why is there not an option to turn this off for vector editing?
If you look closely in the attached picture, there is a spot of light blue on the player's helmet, that looks like a mistake (think it should look like the grass behind it)...though it actually may be part of his helmet. Â Regardless, I'd like to take it out. My idea was to select the blue with the quick selection tool, then bring that selection out to the grass, select the grass with that size/shape of selection, copy/paste and then bring the grass selection into the blue part so it looks like grass in what was the blue part. Â The problem is I don't seem to be able to move the selection without taking the blue with it (so it's not an empty selection and therefore can't select a piece of the grass.)
I have Photoshop CS5 on a Mac OS 10.7.4 My problem is that when I am using curves or a slider, my selection does not stay in the same place. For example, I chose the number 8 on a slider, after I release my selection it will either go one number after or before my selected number. I have had this problem since I got my computer, December 2011, but it has only recently started to frustrated me because of having to use Photoshop a little more than I usually do.
