I am new to Photoshop 7 and would like to take an image from one photo and save that selection with a transparent backround so I can use it later on to create a flyer with the image. How do I save my selections and use them later on?

Is it possible to leave them in selection mode.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am currently working on a project that requires me to resize and cut out every flag in the world. I have been given an Oval shape that every flag has to be exactly like.
I have used the actions option to automatically resize all the flags, and now I would really like if someone could tell me how to save the selection that I am supposed to use, so I could make an action thing for that as well.
My question is: How do I save a selection from one project, so I can open it in any other project?
When using the magnetic lasso tool a selection may be made and saved. With that selection still active another selection may be added to it and saved. This technique can be used until the entire picture is saved with each selection including all previous selections.
I would like to use the pen tool instead of the lasso tool. Is there any way that I can do what I explained in the 2nd paragraph with the pen tool.
I am using Photoshop 6 and XP.
I'm wanting to know how to fix this issue? Each time I create actions it has the "Save Actions" selection grayed out. So every time photoshop decides to have a fit and kill on itself all my actions are wiped out then I have to recreate them, rinse and repeat.

View 3 Replies View RelatedURL....I am using PSE 12 as a photo editor for Aperture 3.5.1 and the photo is duplicated (as a tiff) in Aperture and PSE editor opens with the image. When I close the file and say to save the file it brings up the save as window.
I tell PSE 12 to "on first save -- save over current file" it now brings up the "save as" window and won't save over the file (changes the file type from .tiff to .tif)
I have Photoshop CS6 and Elements Premiere 11 and both were showing estimated file sizes properly up until a couple of weeks ago, and both stopped at the same time. Using Image, Mode I have verified on both that the images I am trying to save are 8 bit and not 16 bit images. I am on Window 7, 64bit.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI use Photoshop to design interfaces and then cut down the graphics, by using the rectangular marquee tool and selecting the area that I want to save, copy-merged and then paste into a new document, of the correct canvas size according to the selection area, and then save for web..I end up with dozens of open windows all "Untitled" something, unsaved.
All I want is being able to select an area in my document using the marquee tool and then select from File a save function like "Save selection for web and devices...".
Perhapse this option could be in the "Save for web and devices.." dialog, where you could select from a dropdown the following:
"Entire document" (default)
"The entire selected area"
"Trimmed down selected area"
Since upgrading to Illustrator 17.1 I can no longer select slices in the Save for Web dialog, nor can I select a slice on a different layer than the one it was created on.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn Elements 2.0, the selection tool literally only selects what you want it to (like a brush). In CS6, I can't find a similar selection tool. Quick select always makes the selection too broad and I end up having to constantly add and subtract from it to little avail. I know there's more advanced ways to define the selection, but I want to know how to easily select only what's in my brush path.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem using the Selectiom tool (mask). I am trying to repair an older photo with folds and scratchs. After using the Selection tool and masking the children, I then inversed the selection and tried to apply the Scratch and Dust filter but the program crashed every time I tried. I was however able to use the quick selection tool and apply the scratch and dust filter without any trouble. I would like to use the selection tool but I am having difficulty as noted above. I am using a IMac computer with OX10.8.3. I also reinstalled Photo Elements 10.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently started experiencing a problem in PSE11. When I select an area of an image using the rectangle or lasso tool, the area I've selected immediately fades to black. Modifying the selection area makes it visible again for just a moment, then it fades out again. I know that the underlying image is not affected, as I can apply edits (filters, etc.), and the image returns to normal when I deselect. However, this is making image editing difficult. I'm on a MacBook Pro, running Snow Leopard (10.6.8). I also use Lightroom 4, and have PSE set as the external editor.
I uninstalled and reinstalled PSE, which worked for a while, but the problem has returned.
