View 1 Replies View RelatedI have heard of .jpg files and lossy compression. My camera produces 2592x1728 pixel files. I notice that cropping an image and resizing it to fit 15cm x 10cm photo paper results in significant loss of definition. Should it make any difference saving to .png, for example, or is the damage already done because the camera creates a .jpg file instead of a lossless compression file?

When I select content using the crop tool then hit enter (or the green checkmark) the picture just disappears. This happened all of a sudden a few days ago. I can do COMMAND Z to undo and the picture reappears. But every time I crop the picture disappears and the layer thumbnail just turns brown.
I just put in a new Radeon 5770 card (PCI slot 1) into my Mac Pro 2008 Quad Core which is running Photoshop CS3. Now, the cursor (on all tools) disappears when mousing over any open PDS document. In Indesign, the cursor for all tools shows and works - as well as other pragrams.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI try to zoom into an object with my mouse and it disppears. I zoom out and it reappears but it's too far away, I zoom in again and it disappears. Why is it doing this? I click zoom object and that works but I don't want to do that every single time and even that isn't zoomed in enough.

I have a Revit 8.1 project that renderes the model just fine. When I import it into Revit 2010 it also remders the model but I have to reassign the custom finishes. But when I upgrade it to 2012 and render - the walls and floors are suddenly missing!
See attachment.
I'm making some graphics to be printed on a car. I have some lines with outer glow on them, but Illustrator won't render these unless I use 72DPI in raster effects reslution. I would like to go higher, but it won't give me anything. Guessing it's to heavy for Illustrator maybe? Is there anything I can do about this? I'm making my graphics in 1:1 scale, but I do it in a lower scale since it's just vector art anyway, however how would that effect my glow? Since it's a raster effect.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy layers disappear when I try to save in Photoshop CS6. They disappear when I get to the last step before saving(where you can select the quality and stuff). The effects stay, but they become kind of crappy. I was just working on some pictures one by one, and then suddenly, it started happening. I did nothing differently.Reinstalling didn't work either.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have found that the filter makes automatic changes to images. For example, if I correct a vignette with no sturctural sliders touched, then save the setting, the image appears in my editing window signifcantly altered with altered barrel configurations. So, I have to redo and compensate or just forget about it. This is not a problem with an image I want to correct--architectural, for instance. But, who wants to start fixing issues that the software is creating? I would like to disable this but have not found a setting yet.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI managed to figure out the weird new crop tool and cropped my image. Now I want to hit CMD-ALT-SHIFT-S in order to save for web, as I have done in ages past. When I do that, nothing happens.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn AutoCad 2012 I have a large drawing with 30000 entities in it. Most times (althoguh not always), after saving, the crosshairs then vanish and I have to exit the drawing and open it again to get them back.
It doesn't happen in all drawing files, as far as I can tell it is just this large one.

View 8 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, some times when I am saving a file I will get an error message stating that the "file cannot be saved as it is in use by another program". The problem lies in that there is not another program open, let alone running the file that I am currently using. Many times Bridge is the only other program even running. This doesn't happen all the time, but more often than not and it is incredibly frustrating because I end up having to attempt to save at least 3 times before it decides to actually do the deed and nothing will have actually changed. No programs closed or anything, just at least 3 seperate attempts to save before it does.this has been going on since I purchased and after a couple months and a few updates I just don't know what else to do.

When I save parts in the library on my harddrive the file does not show subsequently. But if I try to re-save it, I get the statement that the file already exist.
I cannot find the file anywhere, not even with the windows search function. The file is missing, but somehow present below the surface.
Besides this did Inventor create several versions of my previous parts (0001, 0002, 0003... etc.)
I'm trying to save 8bit tiff files (2400x1374pixel 300dpi) with no layers, paths etc as a jpeg in CS5 but even with the jpeg quality slider set to 0 it is still giving me a file size over 400kb.
The tiff files were coverted to 72dpi @ 900pixel wide. I can't figure out why it is still giving me a jpeg over 400kb in filesize. It should be well under 100kb. I normally like to set the jpeg slider around 8 to
still have a sharp image but even at 0 it's still giving me a large file.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI started using GIMP on a PC a couple of months ago after developing skills in PS over the years on my Macs at home and at work.
I like GIMP and it's stable nature along with everything else... in addition to allot of standard photo editing and graphics creation, I recently used it for some of the animation filters, which are nice.
The only problem I'm having is that when I create a path, or multiple paths, and have them in the paths palette, after I save and close the file that contains the paths, the next time I open that file my paths are gone... completely disappeared.
Why do "Quick Profiles" disappear after I save my drawing?

I photograph volleyball tournaments. The pictures I take are about 2800 x 2000. I crop out the best 1000 x 1000 or so so that the largest side is no more than 1000. I do this by drawing out a square on every image until I widdle it down to the appropriate size.
What would really be nice is telling photoshop that i want my square to be 1000 x 1000 then I can move it around on the image and crop out the best area. This way all my images would be exactly 1000 x 1000 instead of 1000 x 952 etc.
How can I set up photoshop so that I can just open image after image and just throw the presized crop area onto each image and go from there??
I scanned a bunch of photos of different sizes with my scanner into one big image because it was faster to do it this way. I thought I would make a new action after making a rectangular marquee tool. The action involved the following:
1. Copy
2. Make new image
3. Paste into this new image
4. Do auto Adjust
5. Save
It works for the first image but the next time I make a mark over a different size image, the new image has the same dimensions as the previous one although the selection region has a different geometry. So I added a menu item in the action after step 5 which was "Purge All". It still does not work.
The preset in the new image is "Clipboard"
I tend to always have a few pictures in rotation that I end up cropping multiple times when I am printing. Pictures where today I need to print a 4x6 and tomorrow it's a 5x7 of the same picture, etc. I am trying to figure out a way to save the file with that cropping. Ideally there would be a way that if I also modified anything else in the image that would also show up in the other versions. I know there is Create Virtual Copy, and that could work if I could then figure out how to change the file name so it would show that it was cropped for 5x7 or whatever.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed AutoCAD 2010 Civil 3D on a 32 bit Windows 7 machine. When I open a dwg sent from a surveyor I can see and manipulate all the linework, contours, points, and SRF breaklines in the drawing. When I proceed to save the file to my computer and reopen it, the contours and points disappear; however all linework and surface breaklines remain. The two files that I have been working with were saved originally in 2004 and 2007 format. I have tried saving to their respective versions but that has not worked.
The only way that I have been able to retain these objects is by first exploding them and making them into a block and later inserting them into the other drawing. If I try to make them into a block without exploding them they also disappear.
Is there a way to retain all drawing objects directly from saving?
