Oct 12, 2012For some reason, some times when I am saving a file I will get an error message stating that the "file cannot be saved as it is in use by another program". The problem lies in that there is not another program open, let alone running the file that I am currently using. Many times Bridge is the only other program even running.This doesn't happen all the time, but more often than not and it is incredibly frustrating because I end up having to attempt to save at least 3 times before it decides to actually do the deed and nothing will have actually changed. No programs closed or anything, just at least 3 seperate attempts to save before it does.this has been going on since I purchased and after a couple months and a few updates I just don't know what else to do.

Jul 19, 2013I'm trying to save 8bit tiff files (2400x1374pixel 300dpi) with no layers, paths etc as a jpeg in CS5 but even with the jpeg quality slider set to 0 it is still giving me a file size over 400kb.
The tiff files were coverted to 72dpi @ 900pixel wide. I can't figure out why it is still giving me a jpeg over 400kb in filesize. It should be well under 100kb. I normally like to set the jpeg slider around 8 to
still have a sharp image but even at 0 it's still giving me a large file.

Photoshop :: Fonts Rendering With Faint Outlines And No Fill When Saving PDF?
Apr 1, 2013I have an on going issue with quite a few of my files. They look great in photoshop or when I save them as .jpg's or other images but when i save them as .pdf's (no matter the setting) the fonts render horribly showing only faint outlines and no fill. This is a major issue as I am sure you can see.

Aug 30, 2012Currently I am running PhotoShop extended CS5, 64bit. in which i have my fovorite plugins (Topaz, Nik and OneOne) running perfectly.
I have upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud and installed PhotoShop extended CS6 using Adobe Application Manager as recommended. It didn't ask me if I wanted to upgrade or do a new install for PhotoShop. So now I CS6 running with no Plug-ins. I need my plugins! LOL.
I tried pointing to additional plugins in the CS6 preference to the CS5 plugin folder. Upon Launch it gave me a whole slew of error messages saying something cant load or launch C+ runtime error or what not. It does open up, but it only gives access to Nik and Topaz. OnOne doesn't show up under filters or extensions.
So, what are my options?
Just copy the plugins from CS5 to CS6?
I dont't want to reinstall all the plugins to CS6 if I don't have to as I've auto updated them over time to current versions online, so only have installation files for my original purchases.

Oct 16, 2012I have started editing photos using the Photo Fix Options in Instant Fix. I have then switched to Photo Editor to fine tune my edited picture. When I use save or save as, to save the edited picture both the edited and original appear in the files. If I start in in Photo Editor and save there is an option to uncheck that reads "Save in version set with Original" However I am more comfortable with beginning in Instant Fix and then switching to photo editor. For some reason when I go to save after switching from Instant fix to Photo editor the uncheck feature is no longer available. step by step instructions to save revised photo afterusing Instant Fix first then Photo Editor.

Aug 1, 2013I just download a trail version of Adobe Photoshop CC and plainning to use Photoshop for all of my 3D works. My systems specs is AMD FX 6100 on the CPU side, NVida GeForce GTX 560 Ti, 8 gig of DDR3 1333 Mhz RAM and WD Black 1 TB and Window 8 64-bit.
when I use photoshop cc to render 3D text, I see that it use more of CPU power and the RAM don't even move.
i check these status using Logitech G510 gaming keyboard LED screen.
I understand 8 gig is more enough for gaming but for intensive task like 3D rendering, I heard that I need 12 gig or 16 gig. My motherboard support up to 32 gb but that will cuase more and thinking of upgrade to 16 gig of RAM. my motherboard only support 1333 mhz and I don't want to upgrade my motherboard.

Feb 16, 2009I recently downloaded the trial version of CS4 which only offered the option of trialling the Extended version NOT the basic version. Subsequent to that I have purchased CS4 and of course, as expected, CS4 Extended does not recognise the serial number. I had thought that by entering a valid serial number for CS4 that some of the features of the trial Extended version would be deactivated but this appears not to be the case. Does this mean I have to uninstall the Extended version and then install CS4 from the CD or will simply running and installing CS4 from the CD overwrite the Extended version?

Oct 16, 2008Initial issues with PS CS4 Extended Windows XP Pro.
CS3 worked just fine but had many issues with Bridge CS3.
1. Sometimes the file menu selections are non-selectable grey including fundamental functions like Open and Exit not even clicking on the x will allow PS to close! I found a workaround, I can select a tool that is not currently selected (like the crop or brush) and now the menu items appear.
2. The Arrange Documents drop down menu is blank except for the lower text portion. All icons are missing. Roll over text popup shows what is supposed to be on the menu but no icons.
3. I have setup Bridge CS4 to auto start at logon. Works OK but sometimes for whatever reason stays busy after I close. Task Manager shows Bridge using up to 25% of CPU time and the program is not even open!
5. I purchased a couple Canon EOS 50Ds as backup cameras for our business. Worked last week with CS3 and Bridge with Raw 4.6 upgrade. Does not work with RAW 5.0 in CS4bummer!

Dec 25, 2008After loading the CS4 Extended version, the "Upgrade Check" defaults to CS3 Extended as my previous version. The problem is that I do not have and CS3 product installed on my system. I do, however, have CS2.
Of course, without the correct version for the upgrade checker to read, I am unable to get CS4 to accept and work beyond the 30 day trial period.
How do I get the upgrade checker to recognize CS2?

Mar 23, 2009I install CS4, and it asks for my serial number before installation. I enter it in, it works (I get a little green check), and then I proceed to install the software.
So, it finishes installing. I then go to click on the CS4 icon. I get this box that pops up before PS comes up, that says "CS4 Extended".
Once CS4 actually comes up, I get a pop up box that says, "CS4 Extended - Trial Version", and it asks me if I want to keep using the trail, or put in my serial number. Obviously, I don't have a serial number for Extended. I purchased the regular CS4, where my serial number worked right before I installed.
But now, every time I click on my CS4 icon, it loads this CS4 Extended - Trial Version. I use the program under the Extended trial version....but I bought regular CS4, and again, my SN worked right before install. Why do I keep loading the CS4 Extended Trial?

Photoshop :: Video Rendering In CS5?
Mar 27, 2012Using a 288MB quicktime file (1920x1080) shot with a Nikon D7000, all I did in PS was add two curves layers, one masked and the other not.
If I export (to the same file type) with "all frames" selected, the file balloons to 21GB and the rendering is lousy: jagged, as if most of the frames are dropped.
That doesn't happen, however, if I export a short range of frames (400 frames out of a total 2810). Rendering comes out fine and the file size seems to be comensurate with its portion of the original. When I try to export the whole video using the first and last frames of the video in the range dialogue, PS freezes up.
The original, unedited video, however, plays fine, it's just overexposed.
I'm running Win 7, 64bit, 16GB RAM, core i7 3.4GHz cpu, with an Nvidia GeForce GT 530.
