AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Profiles Not Saving All Settings?
Dec 16, 2011Noticed that after the last update many profile settings like snap aperatures, OSNAPS, and data shortcut working files aren't being remembered? It has only happened to a couple people, but they are having the exact same issues.
I wish it was simple as the shortcut being reset or pathed to the wrong profile, but it's not the case.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Contours And Points Disappear When Saving Drawing
Jun 6, 2012I just installed AutoCAD 2010 Civil 3D on a 32 bit Windows 7 machine. When I open a dwg sent from a surveyor I can see and manipulate all the linework, contours, points, and SRF breaklines in the drawing. When I proceed to save the file to my computer and reopen it, the contours and points disappear; however all linework and surface breaklines remain. The two files that I have been working with were saved originally in 2004 and 2007 format. I have tried saving to their respective versions but that has not worked.
The only way that I have been able to retain these objects is by first exploding them and making them into a block and later inserting them into the other drawing. If I try to make them into a block without exploding them they also disappear.
Is there a way to retain all drawing objects directly from saving?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Spot Elevations Disappear When Saving Down From 2013 To 2007
Oct 19, 2012I just completed my first topo using Civil3D 2013 (yay!) and now I want to send it to a client. However, when I save it as an ACAD 2007 file and go to open it using ACAD 2007 the spot elevations and all text and symbols associated with them disappear. I can't imagine that you have to have Civil3D to view a Civil3D file. Is there something I can do here?
I did not create a survey database with these points, just imported the .txt file from the field.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Customize Quick Access Toolbar And Custom Tab Disappear?
Aug 22, 2012On some computers I have a problem. The down arrow at the right of the quick access toolbar doesn't show. I checked that my interface is not lock too. So to customize the quick access toolbar I have to use the CUI.
I don't know if it's related, but my customize toolbar (from my partial menu) have to be displayed manually each time I start AutoCAD but not my custom tab in the ribbon.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: 2013 - Dynamic Surface Profiles Acting As Static Profiles
Nov 14, 2012I am having some issues with surface profiles on a dreffed alignment no updating dynamically.
Currently it requires me to set them to static, then back to dynamic and they update.
I am well aware of the issue of dreffed surface profiles staying static. I am using the work around of dreffing in the surface and sampling in the drawing using the dreffed alignment.

AutoCad :: Crosshairs Disappear After Saving
Nov 24, 2011In AutoCad 2012 I have a large drawing with 30000 entities in it. Most times (althoguh not always), after saving, the crosshairs then vanish and I have to exit the drawing and open it again to get them back.
It doesn't happen in all drawing files, as far as I can tell it is just this large one.

When I save parts in the library on my harddrive the file does not show subsequently. But if I try to re-save it, I get the statement that the file already exist.
I cannot find the file anywhere, not even with the windows search function. The file is missing, but somehow present below the surface.
Besides this did Inventor create several versions of my previous parts (0001, 0002, 0003... etc.)
AutoCAD LT :: Attributes Disappear After Saving Block With Properties Table
Mar 15, 2011I used the Block Properties table in dynamic block editor. I picked 3 out of 6 atributes to include in the Block properties table and I inserted the predefined values. When I view the block in testblock edditor everything works. Everything works also in the same drawing were the block was created. I can choose the predefined block vallues from the dropdown list.
The problem is that when I save the block in the block edditor as new drawing, for the purpose to use this and include this block in another drawing, then the attributes witch were associated with the Block Properties table are missing. They are also missing when I open the block editor in the new drawing. The attributes that were not associated with the table exist.
I have added 2 files. 1 with the block created in the same drawing and another where the block was saved an inserted to a new drawing.
Photoshop :: Layers Disappear When Saving In CS6?
May 27, 2013My layers disappear when I try to save in Photoshop CS6. They disappear when I get to the last step before saving(where you can select the quality and stuff). The effects stay, but they become kind of crappy. I was just working on some pictures one by one, and then suddenly, it started happening. I did nothing differently.Reinstalling didn't work either.

I like GIMP and it's stable nature along with everything else... in addition to allot of standard photo editing and graphics creation, I recently used it for some of the animation filters, which are nice.
The only problem I'm having is that when I create a path, or multiple paths, and have them in the paths palette, after I save and close the file that contains the paths, the next time I open that file my paths are gone... completely disappeared.
Photoshop :: Saving Quick Mask Selection...
Jun 16, 2005My question is this (its pretty easy so I hope its just a stupid oversight on my part) but anyway...
I just got into messing around with photoshop lately and in a tutorial in a magazine I read for a certain step I read the following:
1) "We need an accurate selection of the figure, so go to the Channels palette and click on the Red channel. Choose the Brush Tool and select a hard round brush from the Brush Preset Picker . Hit Q to enter Quick Mask Mode and paint over the figure...after completing the Quick Mask, hit Q again to exit Quick Mask and save this selection via Select>Save Selection naming it Outline. Click on the RGB channel, before returning to the Layers palette."
Now that was simple enough to understand and the first time I went about it it worked fine...as soon as I clicked "Q" again to leave quick mask mode the portion i just colored in in quick mask was selected by a dotted line...
My problem is that now it doesn't do that anymore. No matter what .jpg file I use...after i leave quick mask mode there is no selected outline and no option to "save selected"...the only thing that is selected is the entire square outline of the canvas...IT COMPLETELY IGNORES WHAT I COLORED IN QUICK MASK

Jan 10, 2013the record I am using Photoshop 7 (yes it's old, but it suits my needs just fine!) and Windows Vista Home Premium.What I do is take photographs of my artworks, edit them in Photoshop until they look accurate, then post them online. Images have always looked identical in every program, and I had never had any problems, until I got connected to the Internet on Tuesday. This computer has not been connected to the net for a good few years, and so lots of updates got installed. I'm not sure which ones exactly, as my boyfriend took care of that, but I'm convinced this has caused the problems I am having now:
First I found that an image I had edited and saved as .jpg for web use was showing up overly saturated and contrasty in the Windows Photo Gallery preview. I assumed I had saved it wrongly. I re-opened the jpg in Photoshop to check - it looked exactly as I had saved it. I figured something had messed up with Photo Gallery during updates, so I uploaded the jpg to the Internet. The image that uploaded was the overly-saturated, contrasty one.
After realising that suddenly ALL the images I had uploaded online, and all the images saved on my computer, now had this awful over-saturated look, and yet the thumbnails on my desktop looked fine... I realised it must be something to do with the colour profiles, and tried to find out the answer online. My monitor colour profile was set to "21.5 inch monitor" so I changed that to sRGB as default. I can't remember what Photoshop was set to, but at any rate I set it to sRGB also.
I thought I had it fixed, as it seemed to just be Photo Gallery that was not matching up (it was displaying my images with less saturation than as I saved them).However today I took a new photo of a drawing I'm working on, to load onto my blog. I had to take it into Photoshop to make edits and correct, as always. I opened my photo in Photoshop... lo and behold, far too contrasty and saturated!!
This time, Windows Photo Gallery preview is showing the (unedited, straight out of camera) photo as it should be... Photoshop opens it too contrasty.I made my edits anyway, saved for web as .jpg, checked the jpg in Photo Gallery before uploading... It saved duller than it should have done!
Uploaded the jpg to the internet... and I have the dull image uploaded.
So first they were too contrasty, now they're too dull. Being an artist who displays work online and has a certain reliance on the internet... my images have to be accurate and consistent all the way through. Is there anything I can do to set things back to the way they were before?

Nov 8, 2013While working in a drawing with civil 3D points and a surface created from those points, once in a while the contours will disappear. The contours disappear during any number of different commands, so it doesn't seem to be linked to a specific set of commands. If we save the drawing, close it, and then open it back up the contours are there with no problems. Is there a fix for it beyond closing and reopening the drawing. We are using Civil 3D 2010 in our office, and all of the current updates.

Jul 15, 2013I have a user that imported linework and text from shp files. the map came together but when you try to modify any text it vanishes and a regen does not bring it back. However, it exisit in the file; a qselect all text shows in the props palette but no grips show.
I cleared the map cache but it does not work.

Jun 24, 2012Using C3D 2010. Drawing looks fine in model and paper space. When I try and plot (or plot preview) contour labels are gone! How frustrating. They will not show up again unless I restart C3D and open drawing.

May 14, 2013I built a corridor, then corridor surface. Then I changed the corridor onto a different profile. I noticed that the contours at the end were going crazy: the new profile ended before the corridor and everything was going down to zero elevation. So I went to edit my corridor region. I enter the required station, and my contours disappear.
Observations so far:
If I set the end of the corridor region to 2+377.91 to 2+384.54 inclusive, the contours on the surface disappear. The triangles and boundary still display, and the surface gives a Z reading when I hover the mouse over it. If I set the region end to something above 2+384.54 or something below 2+377.91 the contours reappear.
My profile ends at 2+383.00, and I would like the corridor and the surface to end there too!

Dec 4, 2013I have my design drawing referenced into another drawing for plan and profile sheets. I made some changes to my pipe network in my design drawing, and my manhole profile labels disappeared in my sheet drawing!
The manhole labels in plan view stayed where they were, and updated with the changes I made. The profile labels just disappeared.

Nov 25, 2013Not everytime but very often when I create a quick profile from line, polyline or feature line, my Autocads locks. The only thing I can see is the command prompt asking to specify the point of origin for the quick profile and I can't seem to do anything. The only way to get out of the command is by trying to close the autocad window in the task bar or task manager.
To fix this it takes various steps: regenall, zooming out, but still the odd time I get it to work. This seems to me like a video card issue, but I had this problem with several video cards and windows versions (7&8). Currently using Nvidia Geoforce GTX 770M.

But profiles don´t have the method GetProfilesIds();

What I am doing is moving the centerline of a road over 10 feet, so that is why I have 2 alignments (existing CL and new CL). So what I want to show on one profile is existing centerline, existing centerline of new centerline, and proposed centerline of new centerline.

1. You have a base map with survey points inserted.
2. You create a sheet, xref the base map, freeze survey points in base map, insert survey points into sheet so they can be manipulated for visual clarity.
Problem:
In sheet drawing, using the edit xref-in-place command to edit base map causes the points to want to be reinserted and in a lot of cases, when the sheet drawing is re-opened, the points are completely gone.

May 14, 2013when I demension a drawing in model space, and then go to the layout where I have a viewport set up, if I change the scale for the viewport, the dimensioning disappears and I can't get it back.
