Lightroom :: 5 No Longer Makes A Copy?
Nov 13, 2013using LR5.2, iMac, OS10.8.5
Suddenly LR no longer makes a copy when I select "edit a copy", for example "edit a copy with LR adjustments", in PSCC.
Instead, it sends the MASTER to PSCC.
In the case where I have done no editing in PSCC and simply try to close the PS edit window, I always have to click "Don't Save", whereas before this GLITCH in LR, PSCC would simply close the image since I had done no editing.
Don't know if these two things are related but I have used both for many years and this is the first time I have seen this problem.
AutoCad :: Adjusting Plotable Area Only Makes Plotter Print Longer Sheet
Aug 20, 2013I'm using 2008 and trying to get one side of my plots to be 1/2" from the edge of the paper (from one of the ends, not the sides). When plotting from R14, our plotter understands just fine and prints a standard ARCH D sheet just the way we want it. With 2008, our standard sheet template sits outside the dashed line that indicates plottable area.
I think that autoCAD thinks that the printer can't print that close to the edge, but obviously it can. I've gone into the 'modify paper sizes' options and adjusted the bottom margin to allow enough space for the plot. Plot preview looks fine and nothing is getting cut off, but when I actually print, the printer just prints an extra inch of paper past the margin I redefined so I end up with a sheet that is 24 x 37 and the edge of the plot is still not 1/2" from the edge of the paper like I need it to be.
We are trying to move from R14 to 2008 (and eventually 2014) as the office standard and this is the last hurdle that is baffling us.

Aug 15, 2007Every time I save my drawing or it does an Autosave I get the message "Regenerating model" and have to wait 30 seconds for everything to regenerate. There is no reason it needs to do this, is there some way I can turn it off?

Jul 13, 2012I have a serious problem when hatching in AutoCAD LT 2011, it's making my PC hang but only when I'm using the 'Add: Pick points' command. It's so bad that I can't even call up the task manager to stop the process and I have to switch it off and on again to get it working.
I've never encountered this before with earlier versions of AutoCAD, is there a way around this? It's driving me nuts!
I'm using AutoCAD LT 2011 on Windows Vista.
Since opening my most recent backup file I think I may have found the cause.
I had inserted a .jpg image (150 x 150 @ 8KB) that I was using to trace around it and it was these tracings that I tried to hatch. I have since deleted the image and now the hatching causes no problems.

I removed the program using windows uninstall and my computer instantly began to respond again. Running Windows 7 Pro, 1 T 7200 rpm hard drive, 8 gb memory, quad core 775 chip. Nvidia video w/ 1gb memory.
This computer is lightning fast, no jitter or hanging in revit or auto cad until content services was running.

Dec 29, 2011I am trying to save road centerlines with labels to an AutoCAD drawing. On the Output Tab I click Save Current Map to AutoCAD. When I open the AutoCAD drawing I created each letter in the label is a seperate text entity. Like Main St is not one entity, it is 6 different text entities.

Aug 11, 2013I am using the Sheet Set manager to just publish my drawings to the named plotter (Adobe PDF). I an NOT using any fields. I do not have any sheet numbers assigned in the sheet set. Each drawing is a separate file with only one layout tab in each file. On each drawing, the sheet title and drawing number are within an attributed block, with the drawing number in an attribute with a tag of SHEETNO. Everything is in RomanS. Single sheets plot fine. This is the only sheet set.
The problem is that the sheet number are altered when I use Sheet Set Publish to make a multi-sheet PDF. The manually inserted plain-text sheet numbers are all in the format X#.# (A1.1, A2.3, etc.). Two things happen:
1. The number after the period is printed in a different font on all sheets (NOT RomanS - the ends of the stroke are square) .
2. Over half the numbers are changed (the first sheet, the cover, is blank and not changed):
T1.1 -> T1.- (the dash character)
A1.1 -> A1.1 (OK number)
A2.1 -> A2.1 (OK number)
A2.2 -> A2. 1 (note the extra space)
A2.3 -> A2.2
A3.1 -> A3.3
A4.1 -> A4.1 (OK number)
A4.3 -> A4. 2 (note the extra space)
A8.1 -> A8.3
A9.1 -> A9.1 (OK number)
AutoCAD 2009 on Window 7. No other similar problems.
As it is, Sheet Set Publish is useless. (I know, get an updated version of AutoCAD - it's in the works).
AutoCAD 2010 :: Ctrl+s (QSAVE Command) Makes Drawing Read-only?
Aug 15, 2012Just yesterday one of my computers has had it's ctrl+S command making a file read-only. Using the save icon and typing "qsave" work fine. I tried looking at the save options and everything looks ok as well as looking at the shortcut keys in the cui. Everythign looks like all the others that don't have this problem. Is there something I'm missing or has something become corrupted?

Mar 6, 2009I have a new Dell Precision M6300 Mobile Workstation with an nvidia Quadro FX 1600M video card. I have the latest video driver from Dell. With a second monitor (Dell 20 inch) attached via either vga or dvi, Photoshop CS4 becomes unusable in both the second monitor and the notebook display. If I remove the second monitor in Display Properties, Photoshop works splendidly on the notebook display.
Here is a typical case. I open an image, zoom in or select a brush and then the image abruptly turns into several large "blocks." The blocks can be filled with areas of cyan, white, transparency, blocks of the image, bits of another open image, and even blocks of images that were previously closed.
The latest Quadro driver from Dell is from May 2008. I checked with nvidia but they send you to the notebook manufacturer to get drivers for mobile cards.
I have Master Collections CS4 installed and have not run into any problems in dual-monitor mode with the any of the other apps. Seems to be isoloated to Photoshop.

Photoshop :: Sliders Makes No Change To Image
Oct 14, 2013iMac, OS 10.8.5 Photoshop CS 6. I have activated the Graphics Display Unit (or whatever it is called) and, with an image in Photoshop and its Layer selected, I do Filters > Render > Lighting Effects. I get the panel on the right called Properties and under it some sliders for Color, Hotspot, etc.
Burt moving the sliders makes no change to the image. Tutorials say that I should get a white elliptical shape with white blobs which should allow me to alter the lighting effects, ("Lighting Controls"?) but nothing appears. The tutorials show a "Menu Bar" should appear just under the three coloured blobs at the top left of the main window. That "Menu Bar" shows, from left to right, something like: a light bulb; Presets-Custom; Lights and three tiny blobs; some thing else; and at the right end, a check; Preview; Cancel; and OK in blue.
I think that "Menu Bar" with Preview checked must appear before I can use the lighting controls on the image.How the heck do I get to see a preview so that I can see and use the lighting controls?

ISSUE:
When cropping a photo, the crop tool highlights the photo correctly, but when the crop is activated it resized the photo to about 1 pixel, no matter how large or small the selection crop was.
Actions took:
I fully installed all the updates, when unsuccessful, I repaired the installation, when that was unsuccessful, I completely uninstalled and then reinstalled Photoshop.

Aug 9, 2011When Vegas Video is up, 2012 starts to beep when I scrub an animation, when I change some numerical values, when I click some buttons, when a file is saved. Beep beep beep. I shut Vegas down and max is back to normal. I can take Vegas to a different monitor and it still beeps. Only thing that will stop it is shutting down Vegas, which is unfortunate because I use it all the time.

It only happens with the occasional file, but once this happens, nothing will stop the problem. Selecting all & pasting into a new file does not work. There are no extra views. The artwork is originally copied from the customer file & pasted into a new document.
