Photoshop :: Spacebar Not Inserting Space Between Characters
Apr 3, 2012The spacebar is no longer inserting a space between characters.
I tried switching from my wireless iMac keyboard to my wired Apple keyboard; replaced preference files; booted from several other partitions (that share the same Photoshop app); checked the character palette for kerning and tracking; and tried different fonts.
It may be that I have to trash the preference files and completely reset them... but I sure hope not.I've tried two backup preference files .

Apr 26, 2009In CS4, holding the spacebar down when using another tool for panning does not work, in photoshop or anything else. Works fine when pan tool itself is selected. Very irritating behavior. I've used photoshop since v6, so I'm pretty use to the way it works. Same in Illustrator, InDesign, InCopy, and Acrobat.

Oct 28, 2013I've got a weird problem with several (not all) objects in my scene. No matter if Max 2012 or 2013. It's impossible to apply any transform as soon as the auto key button is pressed. The objects are totally locked. With auto key button inactive, transformations are possible. Key filters are active.
The only workaround so far is to group those objects or link them to a dummy or detach all elements into a new object and delete the original one. Any newly created objects can be animated either.

Apr 25, 2013I am using the type tool in Photoshop CS6 (windows XP pro) and I am running into this weird issue. I have never seen anything like it before. It isn't my keyboard or computer, it only happens in Photoshop. When I am typing and I mess up and use backspace to delete a character, the next character I type in gets doubled. Random letters will pop up as well - such as when I type "S", the letter "U" shows up... when I press the spacebar, it adds an extra letter instead of a space (the following letter or previous letter used). The cursor gets placed before that second character too. I can delete it using backspace or delete but then if I press spacebar to continue, it shows up again and again. I can't get rid of the extra characters!
I've tried activating and de-activating various key locks on my keyboard to no avail. Is there some button I pushed or weird formatting I somehow accidently implemented?

May 15, 2012Running the CS6 trial on a Windows 7 Laptop (x64). I was in Photoshop (64), and noticed that when I held down the spacebar to pan the open image, the hand icon would show but the tool will not work. No matter how many times I click and drag, the image stays still. If I select the MANUALLY select the hand tool it works, but the spacebar shortcut key is non-functional. This issue persists across both the 32 & 64 bit versions of Photoshop.

Apr 16, 2013I am trying to setup some rules to print various PDF files which we have managed to do without any problems.
The bit I am stuck on is when one of the PDF files being saved is open by another user.
We have been able to error trap it when it is open by showing a message box on error asking them to close the file befopre continuing. The current message box being used is the Retry / Cancel box.
When the user clicks Retry we would like it to re-run the rule, or loops through the rule and check is the file is still open. If the file is open return the same error, and if the file has been closed save the PDF file. When Cancel is pressed it ends the rule (This Bit has been done).
My questions is how do I get the rule to re-run / loop through when the retry button is pressed.
Is it also possible to show the user who has the file open (or Previewing it in a Window Explorer)?
I have attached the Code currently Being used but I can post it here of preferred?

Photoshop :: Launching CS6 Macos 10.8.3 Causes Spacebar / Enter And Arrow Keys To Stop Working
Mar 25, 2013i have a mac air 10.8.3 with cs6 V13.1.2 x64. The machine is running fine. I use an external usb apple keyboard, which is brand new (having just been returned from apple after a warranty case).
Launching Photoshop causes the space bar, the enter key, the up-down-left-right keys to become unresponsive to the entire operating system, even after photoshop is closed. Restarting the mac resolves the issue. Photoshop is the only foreground application launched, nothing else is running (other than background services and things like dropbox, sip, etc).
The issue affects both the external usb keyboard, and the in-built keyboard.I have tried deleting my photoshop prefs file, which makes no difference.
I have noted that bringing up the keyboard viewer ( Keyboard preferences > 'show keyboard & character viewers in menu bar'; then from the icon choosing 'Show keyboard viewer' ) will not show the key as being depressed. CLICKING on the SPACEBAR key, the ENTER or ARROW KEYS in the keyboard viewer also does not work!

This should be - Hatch > Select,
instead i get 'Hatch' then it cancels the hatch commands and jumps to 'Stretch'

For some strange reason, this no longer works and when I hit the spacebar, the dimension process won't continue unless I hit enter and of course it then shows the dimension I didn't want to appear. I can over ride a dimension on the fly, but in this case I just don't want the dimension to appear. I'm thinking a Dimvar got changed.
