AutoCAD Inventor :: Middle Mouse Button Is Zooming All Instead Of Panning
Mar 8, 2013So recently I started making something in Inventor, and like most programs you can press the middle mouse button and it will pan or orbit. Well I'm pretty sure that in the past if I pressed the middle mpuse button it would pan or orbit. But now it is zooming all for the model, and only when it is zoomed to the whole model does it let me pan or rotate. If I were to zoom in on a line for example and wanted to pan to the right, it zooms me out to the whole model, and then I can pan. I have tried multiple mouse buttona all combinations of shift ctrl and alt and middle mosue, but nothing is working. How can I make it so it does not zoom all when clicking the middle mouse?

During the tutorial videos, we're instructed that using the MMB with the Ctrl, Alt, or combination there of, a hand icon will appear and certain movements will occur. My mouse is not behaving in this manner. I am wondering if there is a certain setting within windows I need to set the MMB, specifically for this program, since the default setting doesn't seem to work.

Sep 16, 2013I need to be able to work back and forth with sketchup, and revit. Unfortunatly the orbit and pan commands in revit are the exact opposite of sketchup( mmb = pan in revit) (mmb = orbit in sketchup) (shift + mmb = orbit in revit) (shift + mmb = pan in sketch up)
these commands are ingrained in my muscule memory and going back and forth is like writing one sentnce with your left hand and the next with your right. it is totally dibilitating.
Is there any way to customize these in revit? Can i change the MMB to be orbit and shift+MMB to be pan ?

Nov 3, 2012I haven't been able to use the 3D orbiting shortcut since yesterday. I'm using a wireless Microsoft Mouse and keyboard instead of the inbuilt mouse & keyboard on my laptop (which don't seem to be executing the command either).
Up until yesterday I never had any problems orbiting the view.

Apr 10, 2012I've been researching this all day and I can't find anything that works for me. Is there a way to change the middle mouse button from "Pan" to "Rotate" my model? Currently, I hold "Shift" while holding down the middle mouse button and that rotates my model. Can I incorporate that into my middle mouse button somehow without having to buy a 3D Connexion mouse?

Oct 28, 2010I have a Logitech MX 600 cordless mouse. I just updated the SetPoint software as I got a new cordless keyboard. Now, the middle button pan is erratically working. None of the settings has changed. MBUTTONPAN is set to 1. Middle button is still set to "Middle Button."
Sometimes the pan works. Most of the time it doesn't. If there are new setting on the SetPoint software I need to check or uncheck? I've even tried messing with some CUI settings under the mouse component...

Mar 16, 2009I don't mean the Zoom Tool, but simple zoom in/out operations. I seem to recall that the default behaviour in Photoshop was that you zoomed with Ctrl+mousewheel scrolling, and if you just scrolled, then the picture would pan up/down (vertically). And you could untick the "Zoom with scroll wheel" option if you didn't want Ctrl+scroll to mean "zoom".
However for a while now, having that option ticked seems to mean that scrolling (with no Ctrl) is all it takes to zoom in/out, and if you untick the option then you need to press Alt+scroll to zoom; in either case, there is no shortcut for panningup/down.
Anyway, whether this was really ever the case or not, my question is: is it somehow possible to make it so Ctrl+scroll zooms and (simple) scroll pans vertically?

Nov 1, 2010I've recently installed a microsoft wireless mouse. I'm having issues because the middle wheel doesn't pan when pressed down. I've searched the discussion forums at the Autodesk (both Lt & full ACAD) site, and can see this has been discussed previously, but the accepted remedy of control panel/mouse settings and ensuring that the mouse wheel is set to "middle click" is listed (and selected), but doesn't have any effect. I have MBUTTONPAN set to 1. I'm not sure what else needs to be done to get the middle button to pan.

Mar 23, 2012My laptop died recently and I had to get a new one then reinstall my AutoCAD 2010 software. Trouble is the mouse wheel no longer zooms or, when held down, pans any more. I have spent the last couple of hours trying to sort this but to no avail - nothing happens when I use the mousewheel at all. SO frustrating as I use this all the time!
I run Windows 7 Pro OS and the mouse is a fairly basic HP model with two buttons and a wheel. (maybe I need to upgrade the thing...!)

When I have low zoom values (e.g. 75%) the scroll wheel lets me pan U-D, L-R at normal speed, but if I zoom in (200% and up), the panning slows to a point where it is unusable at 600% and up. I use [Shift] to speed it up but at high zoom levels it's not enough. This wasn't the case for Illustrator CS5 or 5.5 where panning with the scroll wheel worked at the same speed at any zoom level.

As far as I can tell, a middle mouse click does nothing in PDN right now and when I tested to see if this feature was already implemented, it just felt right to me.

I'll be painting and I'll bump the middle button on my wacom pen and I'll get the circle of circles that spins forever... until I force quit. It's so cumbersome. I have my middle button mapped to the middle mouse click.
I use a mac and currently on CC. I have an intuos 5 but It used to happen to my three too. It's been less of a problem lately because of the crash recovery feature but it's still a huge problem...Like if there was an auto save feature or something then I'd be less frustrated.
I seem to have trouble articulating what's going on as well because all I get back is... did you update the drivers? it must be a wacom issue. try an update... etc.
The wheel spins but the pen still draws... like... FML

Photoshop :: Odd Mouse Button
Nov 30, 2002whenever I left click a tool in the toolbar of 6.01 it gives me the options for the other tools...
Now it should only do this when I right click! It's rather annoying...and I have no idea how to change it back. I did a little snooping in the registry but found nothing.

Jul 31, 2012When holding down the left mouse button in the scroll bar area for just a fraction of a second too long, the scroll bar moves several positions. In the past, it wasn't this touchy. It's so touchy that it's impossible to CONSISTENTLY click once and make the scroll thingy move just one position. In previous versions, it works like a charm. Is there a way to adjust this mouse issue?
I use it on every image for cloning so that I can check one section at a time. For this reason, I've now gone back to CS5, but also because CS6 crashes on me and it sometimes gets stuck on Auto Saving files (possibly because they're big).

Feb 7, 2013I am editing at 100%, with square pixels, and no feather.
EVERY time I release the mouse button in CS6 (fully updated), the Info window shows the marquee dimenstions shrink by either 1 or 2 pixels (and I see the marquee visibly move as well). This make it IMPOSSIBLE to accurately to certain kinds of editing. I have to go back to my old CS3 to be as productive! (Current workaround: edit at 200%... but I can't see all I need that way.)
I am definitely not moving the mouse, because a) it is EVERY time, b) it is never more than 2 pixels, c) it is always a shrink, not an increase, and d) I use a trackpad: my finger is off the pad and no movement is possible, then I let go of the button and the numbers change.
Is there some workaround/fix, or is this just another bug?
