View 4 Replies View RelatedI cannot see the full spectrum of my document size in print preview. I have my document setup as 8ft. X 5 ft.
But when i try to see it in print preview it only shows my document between 3 1/2 ft. to 4 1/2 ft.
I can't print from Photoshop cs5 on an imac running lion 10.7.4- when I try to print to either my Epson or canon printer it says disk error. I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling, downloading the latest patch, and clearing the preferences. Do I need to upgrade my operating system?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using Photoshop 7. I create a new document 8.5 x 11 inches at 150 pixels per inch.
I draw a circle 1" from the top of the image. The circle is 3" in radius.
When I print the circle is nearly .25" smaller in radius and slightly less than 1" from the top.
Why is the output not in the same placement and proportions as the image on the screen?
I have my photos organized into albums. I would like to print a contact sheet for each album, but would like it to include the album name. This seems like a very basic part of organizing, but it's not overly apparent how to do it. I would also like to resize the caption font on the contact sheet, too.Â
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have CS5.1 on a Macbook Pro.I have an incredibly frustrating problem.   I've seen similar questions, but not an answer that has resolved this for me. I have an image I have sized to fit an 8.5 x 11 inch paper. Canvas and image size all indicate my image is sized at 7.33 x 11 inches. It is at 300 dpi. Print size view indicates full space is utilized on either side….BUT…
Â
When I go to print, I click "scale to fit media" (which is an 8.5 x 11 paper sitting in printer) image prints smaller with a bar on one side. .
When I uncheck STFM,
I get:
scale - 92.67%,
[code]...
The rule of thumb for traditional illustration work is to do the original about 1/3 larger than it will be printed to allow for some tightening up. My question is, when working in photoshop at 300 dpi, is there any reason to work larger than the print size?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've created an image file in Illustrator and exported it as a .png file. The dimensions are 1000x200 but when I export it the file size changes and becomes bigger. I therefore have to change the file size in Fireworks making sure that the quality is kept as Photoshop does not do it for me. Previously when I exported the files the backgrounds appeared transparent after saving but maybe I've changed a setting by accident that has changed this. I'm selecting the 'Save as' and Flattened png option at 32bit in FW.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just bought and installed Lightroom 5 and need to set my print size to A3 and in the future even bigger. I do not have the facility at home and need to have them sized correctly for the print shop so they do not have to waste time resizing them. I am at a loss how to do this. I cant find any settings for this size print. A3 is roughly 42 x 29.7 cm.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a template with layouts of different sizes that had been working fine with a previous Xerox 6204. My D size and E size automatically oriented with the 36" side parallel to the roll feed. I have since moved to a job that got a Designjet T2300. On this machine the D size orients the 24" side parallel. This wastes 1' of paper on the left and uses 1' extra as it runs the 36" side perpendicular. I have been unable to rectify the problem. I have tried printing in portrait, that actually cut off some of the image. I have tried all types of rotation within the driver and layouts. Tech support had me going into the machine settings and set rotation to 90. Nothing. There is a warning that "HP utilities" is not installed. Could this be a remedy? When the tech came to set up the printer he installed the necessary drivers but mad no mention of this utility.

I created a photobook in photoshop elements 9 and selected "print locally". Now I want to send it to a commercial printer and can't figure out how to do so.  I have checked with both Shutterfly and Costco, and they want each page sent as a separate picture.... How do I do that?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am workking on a very large publication (width of 150.8") and I can't seem to work with it in Photoshop. I did most of the work in ilustrator, however, I now need to add and work with photos for this publication, and to my horror, photoshop will not allow me to open the AI file without cropping or scaling it first.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe difference in document size between PS6 and Bridge 6. After the final editing, the picture (PSD) size will be say 85 MB in PS6. However, viewing the same picture in Bridge, or Windows Explorer, the size will be 150 MB.
Â
I should also mention that the pictures were passed through LR4, then on to PS.
need to create a document with this dimensions. I don't understand what the bleed size would be.
2 1/4 x 10...bleed size 3 x 10 3/4
In PS CS4 Mac, I used to be able to print the full document info that appears in the title bar, including the currently selected layer/group. This would print at the top of my document and might look like:
File Name.psd 100% (layer name, RGB/8)
I always thought this was a function of selecting "Label" in the Output window of the print dialogue box. However, it does not seem to be working anymore, and now it simply prints the file name, like this:
File Name.psd
How can I turn this feature back on so that I get the entire document window? Or another method to accomplish something similar? I am printing individual layers from a single document and having them automatically "labeled" is useful.

Our supplier sent us some wierd size pdfs that are not full size or half size. I am trying to resize them to full size pdfs (Arch D) but am unable to figure this out in Acrobat.
My work-around is to insert them in AutoCAD and scale them based on known dimensions, then print to pdf. Unfortunately the resulting file is collosal and the quality degraded.
I have a photo 36" x 24". I have cropped to 18.5 x 12.5" yet the document size remained the same. Now when I go to print on 13" x 19" paper, only a portion prints because the photo is too big. I shouldn't have to "scale" as then I have no way of confirming that it really will print to the crop dimensions.
Â
Since upgrading to CS6, I have had issues with how the crop is done. For example, why when I open a photo in CS6, the crop tool is already selected by default?
I was designing a membership card for a company and set a resolution of 300 and I can't remember what document size I set originally.
Anyway, my sizes now are as follows:
Pixel Dimensions: W 700, H 410
Document Size: 5.93cm X 3.47cm
Resolution: 300 pixels/inch
When I save my psd as any image type, my image is MUCH bigger than 5.93 x 3.47. How can I save it so that it is the size I want, but still the good image quality (resolution) and so I get the same size when I print it.

I need to crop my images at 500x500 pixels for a project. I do a Save For Web & Devices and use JPEG, optimize at 80%. When I open up the new JPEG file, the pixel size says 500x500, but the document size says 6.944x6.944 inches at 72 resoultion, instead of 5x5 inches at 100 resolution. I've been doing the same process for months and it was correct in pixel and document size until recently, but I haven't changed any settings or my process.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI’m designing a DVD case cover. I’m printing it with my home printer, when I’m measuring it on the paper it larger than it specified in Photoshop. I have tried to check and uncheck the “Scale to Fit Image” but its still not accurate.
My image is : 297x210
Res : 300ppi
Why the measurement on the paper and the document size in Photoshop are not the same?
I've never had this issue before, but recently when I create a new document preset and go through the process of saving it, it simply doesn't save (File > New > Preset: Custom > Save Preset > Ok). I've tried reinstalling CS6, removing all other custom things I had (textures, brushes, etc.) but not matter what I do, I cannot for the life of me get custom new document presets to save anymore.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a way to resize all the layers in my document to a specific size. I'd like to resize every layer to be exactly 6 inches in height (while keeping proportions constrained). I can manually transform every layer to do this but I haven't found a way to do this automatically to all layers, I've tried to do it as an action but it's recording it as a percentage and not a fixed height, so it doesn't work on the other layers that aren't the exact same size.Â
View 12 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a large tradeshow booth design. It was suggested that if my computer can handle it, to work at scale (120 " X 90") at 150dpi. So I am.
I am nearly finished designing and now Photoshop 7 is giving me an error:
"Cannot save file...the document size exceeds 2G." Or words to that effect.
The document window tells me that the file is 970 MB, less than a Gig.
I've purged all hidden layers to reduce the overall files size. No go.
I removed the last image I had in the design, which used outer glow effect, and now the file will save.
I create a new illustrator document (Illustrator CS5 - v15.1.0), in that document I create a rectangle with the rectangle tool (fill: white; stroke: black); I save the document (.ai-format; create pdf compatible file active). The file size messures 3.2 Mb. Why is that? It's just a simple rectangle with 4 points…
