Photoshop :: Resize All Layers In Document To Specific Size?

Mar 22, 2012

I'm looking for a way to resize all the layers in my document to a specific size.  I'd like to resize every layer to be exactly 6 inches in height (while keeping proportions constrained).  I can manually transform every layer to do this but I haven't found a way to do this automatically to all layers,  I've tried to do it as an action but it's recording it as a percentage and not a fixed height,  so it doesn't work on the other layers that aren't the exact same size.

Photoshop :: Batch Resize To Specific Size

Sep 29, 2008

I have a folder of images that range in size... but for the most part they are all smaller than the actual size I wish them to be. (For example: some are perfectly at 250 x 250. Some are 65 x 250. Some are 128 x 180. The point being that they all vary. )

What I need to do is have these images created and outputted at a size of 250 x 250. Every single one of them. Unfortunately I have 5000 that need to be resized. What I would normally do is create a new image at the size of 250 x 250 (background white) and import the smaller one (let's say 128 x 180) and center it. Then save the new one. Easy.

However, I would like to know how to do this "en batch". I'm sure it's possible, but I have very little experience with Photoshop.

Photoshop :: How To Resize Select Layers To Specific Inches

Apr 30, 2012

I', using CS4 on Windows 7. I'm making a 24x36 poster with lots of images on it. Each image is it's own layer. Some of the images are too big and I need to make them smaller.

Instead of just using Control+T and holding shift to make them smaller, I'd like to be able to specify in inches what the resized image should be (like 5" wide for example). Is there a way to do this? I see the % boxes, is there something similar for inches? I can't figure it out. I've got Options turned on under Windows.

Photoshop :: How To Batch Resize Images To Specific Size

Sep 25, 2013

I do know how to batch resize photos using adobe bridge and then tools>photoshop>image processor.... and resize but what i want to know is how to batch resize images to a specific size width and height without having to keep proportion.

Because right now i have a bunch of photos that are 2896 x 1944 pixels but i need it to resize to 1920 x 1080 for a stop motion clip. However photoshop wants to keep it in proportion and resizes it to 1608 x 1080 which is not what i want but i dont want to have to do them one at a time.

Paint.NET :: Resize Images And Print Size Fields On Resize Dialogue

Mar 24, 2013

I have just been trying to resize some images on the latest version -  3.510.4297.28964 - and I have typed the measurements that I wanted into the print size fields on the resize dialogue. The actual sizes the program resizes the images to differ though - some look to be about right, whereas some come out much larger, but they all show the dimensions that I inserted in the canvas size box.
I'm sure I've done this before and this hasn't happened?

Photoshop :: Resize Document Number One Before / After The Selection

Jun 21, 2012

I'm just learning some of the basics of Photoshop & trying to practice what I'm learning at the same time…

I have 2 open documents,  I made a rough selection in document number one & was able to successfully create a layer out of that selection.

From the layers palette, I drag that selection layer roughly where I would like it to be on top of document number two…

the selection layer from document number one is a little too big… How do I resize the selection I made in document number one?

Do I need to resize document number one before I make the selection?

Or…

Can I resize the selection after putting it on top of document number two?

The idea being I can then resize the new image based on size e.g. width 250px while keeping the aspect ratio, I want to do this with many pictures in order to get a consistent look on the page.

Photoshop :: Cropping To A Specific Size

May 28, 2008

I hope I am able to adequately describe what I want to do!

Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and people used film in their cameras, here is how I used to mark my clients' photos for cropping:

1. A photo proof would be on the table.
2. I would put a cardboard device over the photo.
3. With the device I could make a rectangular window of various standard frame sizes, like 8x10 or 5x7.
4. I would put the "window" over the photo wherever it was most pleasing, and then, with a pen, mark the outline of the area to be kept.
5. The photolab would then crop the photos accordingly.
6. The photos could then be printed to fit perfectly into frames.

Whew! Does that make sense?

Now: How do I do the equivalent in Photoshop?

I do NOT want to simply "resize" the photo. I want to CROP WITH THE FINAL SIZE IN MIND.

It seems like you could do this with the crop tool, but I can't figure out how.

Photoshop :: CS4 - Creating Picture With Specific Size

Nov 27, 2013

I have Photshop CS4. I create a picture with a specific size in Photoshop (eample: 8.5" x 11"). I send it to the printer. In the printer box it also shows the correct print size. However when it prints it is only a small sample of the picture. An 8.5' x 11" picture from Photoshop, showing that size in the Image box and in the Photoshop print box, when sent to the printer shows at the correct size and prints it at 2-3/4" x 3-1/2". If i save the picture from Photoshop onto my desktop, then open it in Microsogt Office Picture Manager, then send it to the exact same printer, it is printed out at the correct size. I don't know why it will not print it to the correct size from Photoshop.

Photoshop :: Cropping A Specific Pixel Size

Jan 12, 2005

Suppose I have a 300px x 300px image and I need to choose a part of that image to crop to 150px x 150px without resampling. (I need that hypothetical 150px x 150px so it fits a pre-defined area in a web page layout.)

I know I can take the crop tool to the image and view the "Info" tab to get my 150px x 150px. But that requires a fine touch and some trial and error to get the exact crop I want.

Is there a way to specify a particular size to crop or select and then move that selection around in the image to find the best crop? (Photoshop 7.0)

Photoshop :: Dpi Adjustment To Fit Specific File Size

Feb 4, 2009

Photoshop CS2 for Windows XP

When trying to attain a specific size for a JPEG image (60MB) I adjusted the image size by cropping the image to 8"x10", and changing the DPI to 450.

The image size window indicated that the file size was at 60 MB, which was the correct size that we wanted for the file.

After saving, the file size was way below the size indicated on the original image size (when the file was open). Upon reopening and looking at the file size, it indicated that it was still 60 MB.

I had done this same process with roughly 50 files and all of the sizes came up different (ranging from 6 MB-64 MB).

I also saved the images as PDFs after making some adjustments to the JPEG files, but the same problem of the file size changing still came up.

Does anyone know what would cause the image size to change so much?

Photoshop :: PS7: Resize To Max Size Of X*y (as Action)?

May 26, 2004

I made a Photoshop (7) action (macro) a couple of months ago, that (among other things) resized the image to a maximum of x*y pixels (a certain, fixed size).

That is, if the maximum is 50*50 pixels, this will happen:
100*50 -> 50*25
200*200 -> 50*50
40*40 -> 40*40

Now I need to make another action with the same feature, but I can't find how to do this, and I only have the first action as a compiled droplet.

Photoshop :: How To Draw/Select By Specific Dimension Size

Jul 13, 2005

1. I want to draw boxes of specific dimensions, i.e., 5"x7" within a canvass that is bigger (i.e., letterhead size) than that.

2. I also want to know what size a specific image is. I checked help (PS7) and it says if I press alt and right click on the image information (which I assume is the size dimensions shown on the status bar) it will give me the image size; but it only gives me the canvass size. Am I doing something wrong?

3. Not sure if this is the place to ask, but can anyone tell me where to go to learn how to create emoticons?
