View 2 RepliesOn a Mac -- CS6..All of a sudden my document windows refuse to resize. I was sent an Illustrator file by another artist and now all windows only open to the size of his window. Can't change any of them.
Tried restarting the program twice and thought I reset my preference.
I use photoshop a lot and have a recurring issue... I often have to edit photos and images which invole me being zoomed in to 300-400%. When zoomed in this far I cannot work out how to view the edges of the document (if Im trying to draw a path or something around an object and the path needs to go out side the bordering edge then come back in) is there a way to do this? I can do it by zooming out, dragging the border box to be larger than the image , but can't seem to do it whilst zoomed in. which is a right pain in the rs.
View 2 Replies View RelatedGimp needs the features found in ms paint. Lots of people do pixel art. Just add some new buttons. Specifically the features I am looking for:
-Re-size canvas using border nodes instead of using menus.
-Uncluttered save feature. Remove export completely. The save file list should include all file types. A bmp should end up a bmp. Let the user set their preference to the default.
- an all in one: select, float, move, anchor select tool( with background transparency toggle). For rapid manipulation of simple objects. (the select tool as used in ms paint)
Gimp has the potential to include each and every feature from ms paint. I see no reason not to. The video game market share alone should be enough incentive to take pixel art seriously. Ive tried inkscape and pencil and graphics gale etc. Gimp is the closest one so far.
I'm trying to do something which may indeed be very simple, but I have failed to find the answer thus far...I need to remove the 1px black border around the project document as it's interfering with something i need to do...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm just learning some of the basics of Photoshop & trying to practice what I'm learning at the same time…
I have 2 open documents, I made a rough selection in document number one & was able to successfully create a layer out of that selection.
From the layers palette, I drag that selection layer roughly where I would like it to be on top of document number two…
the selection layer from document number one is a little too big… How do I resize the selection I made in document number one?
Do I need to resize document number one before I make the selection?
Or…
Can I resize the selection after putting it on top of document number two?
In CS3, the document window abutted the palette (panel) stack and expanded automatically when I collapsed the stack. How do I make CS4 (Windows XP) do this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using Photoshop CS6 now and there is one bad thing i'd like to change. If I "select all", I can not make the selection smaller (in my case 1Px) , the menu-command is grey. If I make a round selection, which hits the document-border, I can reduce the selection size but the area which hits the border still gets not reduced. Is there a possibility to change this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have switched my "mouse" over to the number keypad like it says to do for the touchpad computer. I go to tranform image size and the outline surrounding the photo only moves up/down or side-to-side. How do I get the outline to move at the corners so I can easily manipulate the size? Either way - FN, CTRL, Win or other buttons do nothing to enlarge photo to where I want to set it. How can I accomplish this - any experts on touchpad conversion to number keypads out there? This is Win8 with PSE11. I just want this computer to get up to par to do some photo editing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a way to resize all the layers in my document to a specific size. I'd like to resize every layer to be exactly 6 inches in height (while keeping proportions constrained). I can manually transform every layer to do this but I haven't found a way to do this automatically to all layers, I've tried to do it as an action but it's recording it as a percentage and not a fixed height, so it doesn't work on the other layers that aren't the exact same size.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have made a new layer in my brochure document and have set the swatch fill to black with 30% opacity and a red stroke, yet as soon as click on the document with my blob brush, the fill menu gets a red line (no fill) and I get a red dot which is the stroke?
View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to put a border around a black and white image imported into Illustrator CS2 (for PC). The Tiff images are imported from Photoshop I've been reading some of the previous postings on this subject, but still can't seem to figure it out. I would like the border to just outline the image. Nothing fancy. I would like it to essentially look like what it would if I were to import an image into Powerpoint and just bound it by a box.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working on uploading GIFs onto a website I'm working on, I'm testing them on a completely white background #FFFFFF, more specifically the background of the webpage is white. I've saved the GIF with the least amount of colors while maintaining the integrity of the image. I've saved the image with transparency and no matte, there is a thin border around my GIF. I've saved the image with no transparency and the matte matching the webpage background, there is a thin border around my GIF. I've saved my border with transparency unchecked and matching matte color with the background color of the webpage and there is still a thin border around my GIF. I don't know if it has anything with the artboard or what? I've even tried the above and saving it as a PNG and the same happens. I've attached a picture of what the image looks like once uploaded, as you can see it appears in just about anything I design with illustrator.

I need to resize all of these to 32x32px, is there a way if I shift click all the image to just scale by typing in the width and height or do I have to manually drag the re-size handles whats the best way?
I have a drawing that has a white background.
I would like to add more to the white background to make it bigger without having to stretch it and distort the image.
I want to place a circle shaped outline border around the original image with a set border thickness and color and be able to crop/remove the portion of the image beyond the outline, changing it from a square/rectangle image to a circular image.
If I am not able to change the drawing to have a round outer border from square, how can I make the outer parts past the newly created circular outline transparent?
I need to get rid of the black border around the artboard. The two images show my drawing lined up with the art board and then inside the artboard. The dark gray is not the artboard.
As you see, the artboard has a black border. I need to get rid of it. It shows up in my project when my color key is green. The black won't go to transparent.
So how-to get rid of the border?
I figured it out. View > Hide Artboards.
I have a circular / elipse type shape which has a stroke border of 3. I make a copy of it, and I want to delete the copies stroke border so I can fit it exactly within the original shape.
View 8 Replies View RelatedBetween the black blurred shadow and the magenta corner, there is a very little "blank stroke" surrounding the dark-magenta corner of the round square. The darker is the blurred shadow, the greater the contrast and the visibility of this blank stroke is. If I rasterize the objects it still appears (even if it's not that visible).

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I write a text in illustrator, there appears a small grey border around the text. When I save it as a pdf or jpg, then it’s gone. So I’m sure it’s not a stroke. It more looks like some kind of path around the text. When I draw another shape (square, circle…) then there is no problem .I’ve reset illustrator (removed the presets) but that didn’t do anything.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing made up of black and transparent, super nested, compound paths. when I use the black selection tool to resize it, it disappears!!!
the first image is how it should look, and the second is what happens after resizing it.
I'm looking for a way to select multiple objects (all identical) and resize them all at once without also changing their positions.
Said another way, I'd like to resize a group of identical objects but instead of there being a single center/anchor point in the middle of the bounding box, I'd like each object within the group to retain it's center/anchor point (so multiple anchor points) and resize based on those positions.
In CS5, if you hold the ALT key (on windows, not mac) while resizing the artboard, it will scale from the center... creating an even width reduction/ increase on either side of the page. Why was this behavior removed in CS6?
