Photoshop :: CS4 Auto Resize Document Window?
Nov 8, 2008In CS3, the document window abutted the palette (panel) stack and expanded automatically when I collapsed the stack. How do I make CS4 (Windows XP) do this?

Photoshop :: Pasting Into CS5 / Auto Resize?
Jan 13, 2012We copy a lot of existing elements from illustrator files into existing Photoshop documents. The dimensions of the Illustrator files are much larger, so we've always pasted into Photoshop and it resizes to the smaller photoshop document.
When I paste into the existing Photoshop document in CS5, I need the image/object to resize to my Photoshop document, instead of pasting in at the actual/original size.
Is there something I can change in preferences? Or a way to do this?

Sep 18, 2012Ok, before a bunch of you tell me I need to go to my preferences and uncheck the "Resize image during place" option, I've already done that and it's till resizing which is whay I'm here.
Ok, so here's the story:
I built a pixel perfect graphic in Illustrator. Working space have identical pixel resolutions in both my illustrator and photoshop files. When I copy and paste my vector graphic to photoshop as a smart object it automatically resizes to an illogical size. SO currently, my 436x436 graphic tries to paste in to my 2048x1536 file as 1607x1607. I don't get it. I've rebooted with the same result. Everything I've been able to find on the forums so far seem to indicate that unchecking the "Resize" option should prevent this but it's having no effect. I am running the latest version of CS6 (subscription) and starting to get a little bit crunchy.

I have 2 open documents, I made a rough selection in document number one & was able to successfully create a layer out of that selection.
From the layers palette, I drag that selection layer roughly where I would like it to be on top of document number two…
the selection layer from document number one is a little too big… How do I resize the selection I made in document number one?
Do I need to resize document number one before I make the selection?
Or…
Can I resize the selection after putting it on top of document number two?

Mar 24, 2008I am using Photoshop CS2 (9.0.2) on Windows XP (SP2). Whenever I open an image file using PS, the document window constrains itself to the dimensions of the image (IE: if the image file is 20cm X 15cm, the document window opens to 20cm X 15cm dimensions). Can I change it so whenever I open a new document it will automatically maximise the document window?

I can manually transform every layer to do this but I haven't found a way to do this automatically to all layers, I've tried to do it as an action but it's recording it as a percentage and not a fixed height, so it doesn't work on the other layers that aren't the exact same size.

I noticed that if you press CTRL and + you zoom in, and CTL and - then you zoom out. But the document window seems to ignore the palettes on the right hand side of the application.
Is there any way to make Photoshop not extend the document window so that it resides partially behind the palettes?
I notice that if you press CTRL + ALT and + then you zoom in WITHOUT modifying your document window (same for CTRL + ALT and -) , but I cannot see how to remap CTRL and + to what CTRL+ALT and + does.

Oct 24, 2006All options are greyed out and unselectable along with all menu options, and the x to close the program. Nothing appears, but I know that it is waiting for me to specify size and type becuase if i press new document, and just press enter, a new document appears. Has anyone had this problem before? Please help it is cripling me, and I cannot do anything in photoshop.

Nov 8, 2012My copy of PS CS6 has problems sizing the document window. In Standard Screen mode it does not enlarge the window to fit the screen.
In Full Screen Mode (with and without Menu Bar) it will not size the image to fit the screen. The gray area extends way below the bottom of the display and does not have the bar containing size percentage and other information at the bottom.
I have the impression Photoshop does not read the display's size information and therefore doesn't know what to do. It's an Apple Cinamea 23" display. ATI Radeon HD 4870 video card. OS X 10.6.8.

Oct 17, 2013suddenly Photoshop CC seems to be broken. When using selection- or drawingtools, the documentwindow where I draw starts flashing black frames while drawing and sometimes the frame even stays black.
It's really odd, 'cause this Photoshop version used to work fine.Updating the version to the latest version (14.1.2 x64) didn't fix the problem. I use Windows8.
I don't believe any of the videodrivers were updated recently, but I will check that too.
