View 3 Replies1. Get your image you want your text on. For this tutorial, I just have a basic wood background.
2. Type your text. check the box labeled "anti-aliasing" for a smoother transition. For the purposes of the tutorial, I chose a very simple white text, but you can use whatever you want.
3. Go to Layer > Layer boundary size. You'll want to have a boundary that is about double the current size, or so. You probably won't need that much, though. Unless you're trying for a really big border. :P
->
4. Go to Layer > Transparency > Alpha to selection on your text layer. This will put a selection around your text. Then go to Select > grow. Depending on the size of your text, and your desired results, you may have to play around with the amount for a bit. For this tut, I chose 5 pixels.
5. Make a new transparent layer, and place it underneath the text layer. Select the color you want your outline to be as the foreground or background color. I chose black. Then go to edit > fill with bg/fg color, whichever has the color you want your outline to be. Then go to select > none, and there you have it!
Every tutorial in the world says, if you want a border around your text, you must do the following:
1: Press the "Create Path From Text" button
2: Nope that's it it's a one-step process
How can I possibly screw this up? Well... that button... I don't see it. It is no where to be found. Where is it?
I click on the 'T' to type text and color the text, say, orange; if I then try to add a black outline to it in Edit | Stroke I notice that 'Stroke' is greyed out.
How can I add that black border around the letter(s) .
I have tried saving this is different fonts as well as smooth, crisp, etc and it still shows with a white border around it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe paragraph text always shows a black dashed border (or red, when part of the text is not shown). Sometimes it is very difficult to evaluate a design/layout, when the borders are shown. So I searched an option to hide this border, but did not find any. How to hide this border?
View 3 Replies View Relatedhow do you make a simple border around text? I checked out the tutorial in the Teamphotoshop site, however I couldn't find "Effects" under "Layer". I have Photoshop 6 (soon gonna be getting Photoshop CS), is that the problem?
I tried to just highlight the text, expand it (or make a border, either one), and use the paintbucket tool to fill it the expanded/border area. However, it leaves off a slightly gritty or faded border.
I also tried by going into the layers, right click on text layer>blending properties>outer glow. But it still leaves a faded border.
how?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to tag doors in a drawing. What I want to see is the door size, so I turn on 'width' parameter, and turn visibility off on the border of the text. Change the size of the text to match, easy enough. Now I want to place the text along the open door in the floor plan view, but the tag always jumps to the center of the door frame. Can this be modified to do as I want? is there an alignment parameter I can alter? Perhaps tagging the door family and aligning it in the family editor? Does Revit is capable of doing this. Until then, I have to place the text for each individual door.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to use the function to outline a border to text with the function "Path to text" but no matter how I try the path will only use 16-19 letters in one row.
I have read several guides on how to do this and no one mention anything about this issue. As long as I have 16 letters on one line it works, but I have more it will just skip them.
I write the text:
12345678901234567890
Then I click an choose "path to text", but when I do it will only create a path of 1234567890123456 and skip the rest. If I write text on several rows it will use up to 16 letter on each row.
Is there an limit to "Path to text" .
I just clicked on the "font" icon...and placed some text on an image. "Now" I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of the back and yellow cropped line around my text.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to know whether it is possible to create an image with GIMP that is not rectangular.
What I want to achieve is to have an irregularly shaped image (e.g. a map of Japan) on a website with the text flow adapting to the shape of the image.
All that I have been able to find thus far is how to make the background transparent. The problem is that the image frame, although invisible, is still rectangular...
I wanna to reduce the text size in border or guide me to create own border creation. Explain through photos or give me a step by step procedure so that i can understand easily because i am new to inventor.

View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to put a border around a black and white image imported into Illustrator CS2 (for PC). The Tiff images are imported from Photoshop I've been reading some of the previous postings on this subject, but still can't seem to figure it out. I would like the border to just outline the image. Nothing fancy. I would like it to essentially look like what it would if I were to import an image into Powerpoint and just bound it by a box.

I've saved the GIF with the least amount of colors while maintaining the integrity of the image. I've saved the image with transparency and no matte, there is a thin border around my GIF. I've saved the image with no transparency and the matte matching the webpage background, there is a thin border around my GIF. I've saved my border with transparency unchecked and matching matte color with the background color of the webpage and there is still a thin border around my GIF. I don't know if it has anything with the artboard or what? I've even tried the above and saving it as a PNG and the same happens. I've attached a picture of what the image looks like once uploaded, as you can see it appears in just about anything I design with illustrator.

I want to put a 3 pixel black border around it that is solid with a normal mode. How do I add a border to my text without it being effected by the text layers mode? I would like to add more to the white background to make it bigger without having to stretch it and distort the image.
I want to place a circle shaped outline border around the original image with a set border thickness and color and be able to crop/remove the portion of the image beyond the outline, changing it from a square/rectangle image to a circular image.
If I am not able to change the drawing to have a round outer border from square, how can I make the outer parts past the newly created circular outline transparent?
I need to get rid of the black border around the artboard. The two images show my drawing lined up with the art board and then inside the artboard. The dark gray is not the artboard.
As you see, the artboard has a black border. I need to get rid of it. It shows up in my project when my color key is green. The black won't go to transparent.
So how-to get rid of the border?
I figured it out. View > Hide Artboards.
I have a circular / elipse type shape which has a stroke border of 3. I make a copy of it, and I want to delete the copies stroke border so I can fit it exactly within the original shape.

If I rasterize the objects it still appears (even if it's not that visible).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having real difficulties getting my drawing borders to work between Inventor and AutoCAD. I am using Product Design Suite 2012.
I have created a drawing border using Inventor, which is the template for any drawings I produce. I often export the Inventor drawings into AutoCAD 2007 dwg's to send to customers. However, it seems all the text goes up the creek after the export...
When I open the exported AutoCAD drawing, first I explode the drawing border. Then, if I scale the border from within AutoCAD, none of the text wants to scale up. - I've attached the border. I've tried several different ways to fix it using text styles, heights (setting to 0) etc and still no luck!
How to fix the text scaling?!
When I write a text in illustrator, there appears a small grey border around the text. When I save it as a pdf or jpg, then it’s gone. So I’m sure it’s not a stroke. It more looks like some kind of path around the text. When I draw another shape (square, circle…) then there is no problem .I’ve reset illustrator (removed the presets) but that didn’t do anything.
