Oct 19, 2012I've found that photoshop is distorting the image when resizing. If you have an image and you duplicate the layer, then with the bottom layer set its size (by free transform) to 99% (width and height), then set the top layers opacity to 50%, the image should be evenly blurred but it's not. It is in focus in the middle and blurred around the edges.

Dec 5, 2011I am wanting to display previews (pngs) of the ai files in the plugin that match search criteria on a button. As the user scrolls through the results, change the button picture to be the png for that ai file. I tested it with a default image in case the image doesn't exist. The test image is cropped to the size of the button.
The pngs are necessarily 600x600 pix. (For other applications). I want to resize them for display on the button.
(The button is only 100x100).
Do I need to use Image/Drawer suites?

Let's say I'm using the 'Paintbrush, Opacity 70%, Hardness 075, Size 4.00' as my "standard outline tool". Can I some how save that preference (and any other tool such as "Specific Eraser Op. 100%, Hard. 100, Size 10.00) so that I can easily switch between "Ouline Brush" and "Specific Eraser" . Maybe to the 'f-buttons'
I'd like to be able to make maybe 5 specific tools:-Outline Brush
-Small Eraser
-Big Eraser
-Detailed Color brush
-Big Color Brush.
Photoshop :: Batch Resize To Specific Size
Sep 29, 2008I have a folder of images that range in size... but for the most part they are all smaller than the actual size I wish them to be. (For example: some are perfectly at 250 x 250. Some are 65 x 250. Some are 128 x 180. The point being that they all vary. )
What I need to do is have these images created and outputted at a size of 250 x 250. Every single one of them. Unfortunately I have 5000 that need to be resized. What I would normally do is create a new image at the size of 250 x 250 (background white) and import the smaller one (let's say 128 x 180) and center it. Then save the new one. Easy.
However, I would like to know how to do this "en batch". I'm sure it's possible, but I have very little experience with Photoshop.

Sep 25, 2013I do know how to batch resize photos using adobe bridge and then tools>photoshop>image processor.... and resize but what i want to know is how to batch resize images to a specific size width and height without having to keep proportion.
Because right now i have a bunch of photos that are 2896 x 1944 pixels but i need it to resize to 1920 x 1080 for a stop motion clip. However photoshop wants to keep it in proportion and resizes it to 1608 x 1080 which is not what i want but i dont want to have to do them one at a time.

Apr 30, 2012I', using CS4 on Windows 7. I'm making a 24x36 poster with lots of images on it. Each image is it's own layer. Some of the images are too big and I need to make them smaller.
Instead of just using Control+T and holding shift to make them smaller, I'd like to be able to specify in inches what the resized image should be (like 5" wide for example). Is there a way to do this? I see the % boxes, is there something similar for inches? I can't figure it out. I've got Options turned on under Windows.

Mar 22, 2012I'm looking for a way to resize all the layers in my document to a specific size. I'd like to resize every layer to be exactly 6 inches in height (while keeping proportions constrained). I can manually transform every layer to do this but I haven't found a way to do this automatically to all layers, I've tried to do it as an action but it's recording it as a percentage and not a fixed height, so it doesn't work on the other layers that aren't the exact same size.

Nov 22, 2012An image dimension to a specific size and extruded to a specific height with an empty cylinder through the middle for the wristband to pass through. All edges need to be rounded off somewhat so they are not sharp on the skin.
The face of the bead needs to be an exact cutout of an image that I have. I've used Photoshop to take the image and remove the background, so I have a .PNG with the background removed. I need to import this into AutoCAD and make this image into the face of the bead.

Jun 30, 2011After using AutoCAD daily for over a month, I got some questions again...
1) Resize blocks to any dimension. (from 600x750 to 620x810, not just scaling it), I'm told dynamic blocks can do this, but I can't locate a good tutorial for it... or is there an alternative method?
2) Can I have an additional toolbar or sidebar where I can place my most commonly used blocks? So I can just drag and drop them instead of using INSERT all the time.
3) Can we "lock" certain blocks so they can't be copied or moved? Or even better, lock a layer so noone can edit it or copy anything from it?
I was thinking of blocking the entire layer and unchecking "Allow Explode" , people can still copy the blocks, but it will just be a huge mess.?

Jul 13, 20051. I want to draw boxes of specific dimensions, i.e., 5"x7" within a canvass that is bigger (i.e., letterhead size) than that.
2. I also want to know what size a specific image is. I checked help (PS7) and it says if I press alt and right click on the image information (which I assume is the size dimensions shown on the status bar) it will give me the image size; but it only gives me the canvass size. Am I doing something wrong?
3. Not sure if this is the place to ask, but can anyone tell me where to go to learn how to create emoticons?

Aug 4, 2009Is there a way to add a specific amount/length to a dimension by using a formula? For example, say I wanted to measure a length of conduit between two fittings. The clear distance between the fittings is 48" and the conduit is recessed into the fittings by 3/4" on each side. If I dimension between the fittings, normally it would read 48", but I want it to read 49-1/2" so my shop people know what length to cut.

Nov 27, 2013I have Photshop CS4. I create a picture with a specific size in Photoshop (eample: 8.5" x 11"). I send it to the printer. In the printer box it also shows the correct print size. However when it prints it is only a small sample of the picture. An 8.5' x 11" picture from Photoshop, showing that size in the Image box and in the Photoshop print box, when sent to the printer shows at the correct size and prints it at 2-3/4" x 3-1/2". If i save the picture from Photoshop onto my desktop, then open it in Microsogt Office Picture Manager, then send it to the exact same printer, it is printed out at the correct size. I don't know why it will not print it to the correct size from Photoshop.

Oct 27, 2012In PS5, if I start with a picture 5184 x 3456, I could crop a picture to be 2100 by 1500 by setting these parameters in the crop tool. No matter whether I decided to make a big crop or a small crop, my final image was always 2100 x 1500.
In PS6, however, I don't think the crop tool parameters work the same way. If I set the crop parameters to 2100 by 1500, my final crop is NOT 2100 by 1500, but rather my final crop is whatever original pixels I selected.
What is the EASIEST way to accomplish a final crop of 2100 x 1500 on PS6?

Dec 7, 2011I've had a simple lisp I've been using for years that suddenly disappeared. It required that you identify a block name, tag name, and the value that you want the tag to be. All of this is performed via command line, so it is scriptable. Since I lost it, I've been experimenting with -attedit. This command comes frustratingly close to what I'm looking for, except it only appends an existing tag, or replaces a specific string within the tag; I can't get it to replace the entire tag, regardless of its value.

Feb 8, 2014I am brand new to anything PhotoShop. I have created a talk balloon that I plan on putting it on a photo. I have the text on it already. However, the area outside of the balloon must be tranparent. I made it transparent pixel by pixel. There must be an easier way. So my two questions are:
1. How to make an area of a picture or layer transparent?
2. How to resize a layer or .jpg picture or any picture that can be edited by PS Elements 12
Tried to include the talk balloon file but it failed because of the content.
