I am particularly trying to figure out how to set the newly created dimension style to color white, and to assign it a specific layer (for example, a layer called "test"). What the code syntax is to accomplish this?

AutoCad 2D :: Dimension Style Changes Without Dimension Style Being Changed?
May 25, 2011I'm working on a drawing that was converted into cad and it seems like every dimension has its own style. When I copy use the move comand or try to change the dimension the text changes from being above the dimension line to centered and the text gets closer together horizontally. When I compare a copied dimension to the original it has all the same properties including the text pos vert still being above text. The actual dimension style hasn't changed at all but what is showing up on screen is different.
Here a image showing three dimensions with the same properties, the top 2'-10" is what it should look like, the bottom is what it looks like when I copied it and the 1'-2" is when I make a new dimension.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Changing Dimension Style Reverts To Different Style
May 7, 2012I am working with a template, that doesn't allow me to change the dimension style. In the project the Use Style Library is set to Read/Write. I have created my dimension style, at this point just a copy of the ANSI standard with a text size difference. I went to my template and set that syle as my default, and saved it. Now the fact that it doesn't automatically update the drawing I had alreadycreated is a nuisance, however if I creat a new drawing, the style has reverted to a different standard, that is not even the ANSI default. If I right click a dimension and change the dimstyle to what I saved it does update, but if I try to change the style again it defaults to a random dimstyle, AND changes the style even if I hit cancel. So... the question is how to make the changes stick?

I imagine it would be pretty straightforward to refer to generaldimensions.item(?).delete but how do I know what the index number of the dimension I want is? The only samples I can find either generacially access item(1) or use a for each loop to get all dimensions.

Nov 22, 2012An image dimension to a specific size and extruded to a specific height with an empty cylinder through the middle for the wristband to pass through. All edges need to be rounded off somewhat so they are not sharp on the skin.
The face of the bead needs to be an exact cutout of an image that I have. I've used Photoshop to take the image and remove the background, so I have a .PNG with the background removed. I need to import this into AutoCAD and make this image into the face of the bead.

Nov 14, 2011I'm trying to insert a picture into a word document I'm generating from Inventor ETO 2012. By default, the picture seems to be set to word wrap as inline, which makes Word give it a low priority and hide it behind all text. All I want to do is change the wrap style to Square.
Using Microsoft's site, I found what i believe to be the proper style setting. [URL].....

No matter what I change style to, absolutely nothing changes. It is always set as inline.

Aug 4, 2009Is there a way to add a specific amount/length to a dimension by using a formula? For example, say I wanted to measure a length of conduit between two fittings. The clear distance between the fittings is 48" and the conduit is recessed into the fittings by 3/4" on each side. If I dimension between the fittings, normally it would read 48", but I want it to read 49-1/2" so my shop people know what length to cut.

Sep 23, 2013Can I apply a default style to points with a raw description not in the description key sets?
When I import survey points into the drawing my description keys will assign specifed styles (and therefore layers) to descriptions it recognises, and a default style (and layer) to ones it does not recognise.
Then if i change raw descriptions in the drawing I can "Apply description keys" and have the styles and layers change based on the changes I made to the raw description. This is fine for descriptions in the key set.
Can I get Civil3D to apply the default style to points that did have a description that is in the DKS but has now been changed to one that is not? As it works for me now, these points remain unchanged in there layer and style.

Sep 16, 2005Each time I open a drawing, on my arrow dimension I get a style override which is always scaled at 96. Even if I delete the style override, when I close the drawing and open it again, it's back. It's always on the "arrow" dimension, never any other dimensions. I don't know why it's been doing this, it just started one day out of nowhere. Is there a way I can get rid of it? I'm using AutoCAD 2005.

The standard dimstyle we use is called "MP2013" , we are finding that somehow ACAD is adding something resembling a "$" sign at the end of the dimstyle and the properties are out of whack. Jun 28, 2013why every time I use the DAL shortcut, I get a dimension style override appear? Yet it doesn't do it when i use DIMALI or the DIMALIGNED button?
I've searched extensively for a solution to this yet I can't find a solution that works. The >Drawing Setup>Scale tab doesn't seem to exist in this version, and I've tried setting all the CreateDimOverride values in the registry to 0, but even that isn't working.

the other thing is how to scale the drawign in viewport. In older versions it shows easily. Where is it in this one!?
