AutoCad 2D :: Dimension Style Changes Without Dimension Style Being Changed?
May 25, 2011I'm working on a drawing that was converted into cad and it seems like every dimension has its own style. When I copy use the move comand or try to change the dimension the text changes from being above the dimension line to centered and the text gets closer together horizontally. When I compare a copied dimension to the original it has all the same properties including the text pos vert still being above text. The actual dimension style hasn't changed at all but what is showing up on screen is different.
Here a image showing three dimensions with the same properties, the top 2'-10" is what it should look like, the bottom is what it looks like when I copied it and the 1'-2" is when I make a new dimension.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Changing Dimension Style Reverts To Different Style
May 7, 2012I am working with a template, that doesn't allow me to change the dimension style. In the project the Use Style Library is set to Read/Write. I have created my dimension style, at this point just a copy of the ANSI standard with a text size difference. I went to my template and set that syle as my default, and saved it. Now the fact that it doesn't automatically update the drawing I had alreadycreated is a nuisance, however if I creat a new drawing, the style has reverted to a different standard, that is not even the ANSI default. If I right click a dimension and change the dimstyle to what I saved it does update, but if I try to change the style again it defaults to a random dimstyle, AND changes the style even if I hit cancel. So... the question is how to make the changes stick?

Nov 8, 2012I have a dimensioning problem. I have dimensions that I cannot modify as I normally do. I do not know what setting is stopping me but here is what it is doing. I add a dimension to a part. I then edit it to add 2X in front if it. It will then put it on top of the dimension. If I put it behind the text, it then goes beneath the dimension. There is no way to add text and it would actually appear on the same line as the dimension.

It only works if I do this:
rotatedDimension.Dimblk = ConvertToLayer.GetArrowObjectId("Oblique");
But I will not change everything.
AutoCad :: Modify Point Style Or Library?
Jul 10, 2012I would like to change the look of the point that I draw ni autocad.
When i draw a point (1 on the joined picture), I can choose different style (point, circle, square, ...) and increase or reduce the size (2 on the joined picture)

but the model stay allways thin, i would like to modify my point to look like the 3 ont the joined picture.
I know that 20 models are allready a lot of choice, but is there a possibility to modify the library of the point?
AutoCAD Inventor :: Possible To Modify Default-ISO Text Style?
Jul 22, 2009I am fed up with constantly changing the colour, justification, font and font size of text in sketches in the part environment. The text style drop down box is greyed out in the part environment so i can't set up a style and just change it.
Where i need to go to change what the default-iso style defaults to? Any registry key change i can use to make the test style drop down box available in the part sketch environment?
AutoCAD 2010 :: How To Modify Datalinked Table Style
Mar 2, 2012Using Civil 3D release 2102 on a 64bit Win7 capable Dell Precision, everything up to date.
I have a table created from a datalink using TABLE command. I want to have it use a fill color of 255 in order to mask the objects behind it. I cannot seem to modify the table style, and using fill in Excel doesn't seem to the affect Autocad table.
As you know, when I create a table from a datalink I am not allowed to choose which style.
I don't like using wipeouts to provide a background mask, because they never seem to work when plotting from paper space.
How I can apply fill to the table, or otherwise mask the pbjects behind the table?

AutoCad :: Modify Drawing And Add Dimension Annotation - Small Circles Highlighted In Yellow
Aug 18, 2011I found a strange behavior of AutoCAD. When I was modifying a drawing and adding dimension annotation, there suddenly come some small circles as highlighted in yellow in the screenshot.

First, there is no way I can't select them.
Second, zooming doesn’t change their size.
What these small circles are? How to get rid of them?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Export Appearance Like Metallic Paint In XML Style - Modify / Import
Sep 12, 2012How to export an appearance like "metallic paint" in an xml style and then import it in another way. My real target is to have my RAL colours imported as paint.
If i import my styxml file with the style editor it imports me all the RAL like generic. Instead for example, "metallic paint" appearance has a lot of properties that regards paint.
I want to make a new file (by script) to import, that can add me all the RAL colours as painted ral. I don't find any import/export button.
(Anyway, why RAL colours are not inside the default libraries? Copyright issue?)

Jun 7, 2013We are trying to use the "Underline top line" option located in the Content tab of the Modify MultiLeader Style dialog in AutoCAD 2012 (See attachment).
The minor issue we have is that there seems to be no way to adjust the gap between the text and the "underline". In regular dimensions, there is a dimvar called DIMGAP that controls this distance. Is there any way to control the distance between the top line MText and the "underline"?

Sep 16, 2005Each time I open a drawing, on my arrow dimension I get a style override which is always scaled at 96. Even if I delete the style override, when I close the drawing and open it again, it's back. It's always on the "arrow" dimension, never any other dimensions. I don't know why it's been doing this, it just started one day out of nowhere. Is there a way I can get rid of it? I'm using AutoCAD 2005.

The standard dimstyle we use is called "MP2013" , we are finding that somehow ACAD is adding something resembling a "$" sign at the end of the dimstyle and the properties are out of whack. AutoCad :: Get A Dimension Style Override Appear When Using DAL Shortcut
Jun 28, 2013why every time I use the DAL shortcut, I get a dimension style override appear? Yet it doesn't do it when i use DIMALI or the DIMALIGNED button?
I've searched extensively for a solution to this yet I can't find a solution that works. The >Drawing Setup>Scale tab doesn't seem to exist in this version, and I've tried setting all the CreateDimOverride values in the registry to 0, but even that isn't working.

Feb 25, 2011I have AutoCAD 2011 now and I am not sure where the Dimention style edit (to show in all dimention lines I am using) is...what I have to do now is to change each line EVERY time I dimention any thing.
the other thing is how to scale the drawign in viewport. In older versions it shows easily. Where is it in this one!?

Oct 31, 2012Is there any way when I am dimensioning something to make it read feet and decimals of a foot for instance.
Instead of it reading 5’-6 9/16” it would read 5.546875’?
I tried a few different things on the dimension style and I can get it to read out in decimal inches (it would be 66.5625” with the example givin) but not feet.
The reason I need it is for a program that we run where we must enter the measurement in decimal feet

Oct 24, 2013I have a huge problem with my Autocad 2013 for MAC, everything is running nice and steady except for one detail, everytime I open the dimension style format to make a new dimension style, autocad freezes (only autocad, rest of my mac keeps working normally) and I cant work anymore, I have to force quit the program and re-open it, but the dimension style I created gets lost. is there something i can do? i already tried by uninstalling it and reinstalling it and this problem doesnt go.

Jul 5, 2012When I dimension an arc to find the radius, the dimesnions appears as a line going from teh center of the arc to the edge of the arc with the dimension in the middle. I don't want this. I want a leader pointing to the R text and that's it.
I've attached a photo of both scenarios- one dimension is the style I don't want, and one is basically the style I want (I'd like it to be more of an elbowed leader line), but it only appears when I use AutoCAD's ISO25 dimension style.
