Photoshop :: Can't Get Scrubby Zoom To Stay Turned Off
Oct 10, 2012
try as i might i cannot get scrubby zoom to stay turned off when i reopen photoshop ? i have turned off the scrubby zoom check box in the top interface menu and have turned off animated zoom in the preferences menu.I have restarted multiple times and have the latest Photoshop patch
When I uninstall my ATI Drivers scrubby zoom works and also the animated zoom works. When I install the drivers for my ATI 6970 GPU they don't. Under Performance the OpenGL is selected, the video card detected is AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series. I have checked that I have the latest drivers. What do I do?
I am using Photoshop CS5.1 on a Windows 7 laptop. Its about 3-4 years old. But this problem has started only recently. Every time I use the section tool, it will almost always break my scrubby zoom and makes a weird, glitch looking box. (as shown)
It also drops the quality of my images slightly. Does this have to do with my video card?
In my pc,video card supports openGL, and the openGL is available in performance menu, but the scrubby zoom does not active, and I cannot have a pan zoom ,how can I update the photoshop to remove the bug?
The other day(most likely either coinciding with an update or maybe downloading another CC program) scrubby zoom and flick panning both stopped working. If I select the zoom tool scrubby zoom is greyed out.
I checked my preferences and OpenGL is enabled, so I don't understand why it randomly stops working when I'm trying to get work done. Been working for less than four hours today and have had to restart Photoshop CS5.5 6 times. It starts working for a little while, then the "Scrubby Zoom" box becomes greyed out and the shortcut doesn't work as well.
Also when I hit space (hand tool) to drag the image around, that stops working at the same time as the zoom. I'm using an Intuos4 with this, haven't had problems with it until recently but there haven't been any significant changes in my machine (PC), which has a nice graphics card, processor, etc. I'm using Google Chrome, maybe it has something to do with my browser being open at the same time as PS?
why there are scrubby sliders as well as the regular controls in Photoshop and other Adobe products. Obviously I must be missing something; but to my eye, this appears to be feature redundancy.
I use Photoshop CS2 to create Designs for webpages. These designs have pixel-exact elements, e.g. a 1-pixel-line from top to bottom.
Now when I zoom in (>100, then I have sort of anti-alias, so that the 1-pixel-line isn't only one blue anymore, but it has different blue tones. I guess for photo manipulations etc. this anti-aliasing zoom is great, but for webdesign it sucks because I don't know if only the zoom make the line "corrupt" or if it really is corrupt.
I am working on getting some settings done, moving from 2008 to 2012. How do you set the Middle Mouse Button (wheel) to either Zoom All or Zoom Extents when you double click it? I thought it was set in the Main CUI file.
My keyboard has a zoom key with + and - selections. I use to use this key in drawings to zoom in and out when in the AutoCAD application when we had Windows XP. Now that I have Windows 7 I can't do this. I can't find out how to assign this key on the Microsoft Keyboard interactive software either. I have the other keys assigned as desired.
Can I still use my keyboard zoom key to zoom in and out in drawings? If so, how do I set this up in AutoCAD, or do I need to do this through a Microsoft keyboard application?
I am having problems with zoom, pan and rotate at high zoom level. The movements becoming jerky and delayed. But for whatever reason the problem exists in some assembly files and not in the others.
I can't find in new max (2013) settings for zoom. I want to set Zoom about mouse pointer and adjust a bit zoom speed (now it is too much for one mouse wheel step).
I can't find zoom settings in 3ds max 2013. Where they are? I think that in previous max it was in Customize -> Viewports tab. But now it is not there.
When I have two or more photos open and I want to move them around, everytime I drag one over the other it becomes transparent. This transparency seems to happen once I drag the photo over the ruler but I could be wrong. Once I release the mouse button the two merge into one photo. I believe this has something to do with the photo merge feature. Can I turn this off?
I have got the job of my dreams and one of the things I want to do is to stay updated on software and the market in general (I missed the Adobe Macromedia merge for instance)
Is there any good news-site, blog or similar where I can get the info on such matters, Multimedia in general?
Is there any reason the opacity won't stay completely opaque for the pencil and paint tools (and possibly other tools)? I have opacity set to 100% in the options bar at the top as well as the fill and opacity settings on the layers pallette. I can't see anywhere where opacity is being set to less than 100%.
I'm a professional photographers for 20 years. I 've had lots of customer service issues. I find Sandisk to be the worst of the batch. I recommend everyone not buy more from them.
I just got my new machine the other day , So I take my old hard drive and put it into my new machine ,when I go to open photoshop to work on some stuff, everything has this green tint , what the , oh; and that little box that's on the right side of the layer style window is now green, you know where you add bevels and shadows, the feature button. anyway, a background the was black on my old PC is now #777777, a greenish color.
I tried searching the forums for this topic but the search thing didn't seem to work.
A friend of mine installed Photoshop CS for me (an upgrade from 7.0) and for some reason I can't use CTRL + and CTRL - to zoom in and out, I have to use the mouse with the zoom tool which slows me down quite a bit over the course of 20 or so photo edits.
Can anyone shed some light on this? I checked Keyboard shortcuts in the preferences menu and they were correct. I've made no other changes to the program.
I created a couple of psd files last night. A simple pricelist in photoshop and I developed a habit of saving every few minutes. I can't remember if I closed photoshop last night or not but when I woke up this morning, my pc had rebooted itself (re-started).
I open photoshop to start working on the files again and this icon appears but with the name that I saved my files as (8.5x11_pricelist) . I tried to open it in photoshop and I get the error: "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document." I clicked on properties to see what is going on and it simply states 8.5x11_pricelist file and in the "open with" section it states: unknown.
I don't know what could've happened but I'm devistated. I've been working on this file for sometime now. get my file back?
Recently my cursurs have turned to crosshairs. I have deleted my preferences, I have set cursurs to full size brush tip, yet when I use the crop or marquis tool. all I get is the crosshars.
i accidentally pressed some keys and my whole "art board" turned to an annoying bright blue color. It is originally the gray part outside of the painting area.
I cant seem to find anything in the general settings that will change it back to gray. if you know how to change it back,
......if it opens at all. laptop is above min spec for pse 10. sometimes it opens fine sometimes it gets to the selection screen and when you choose say ORGANISE, it shuts down sometimes it just doesnt open at all when it does it will only allow you to see a 3X2 view or lower in the organise screen, any more and you just get hour glasses this is a real bummer i have paid £100 for this and premiere which does the same errors that elements does i have been using elements since elements 3
I installed CS 6 yesterday. My system runs 64 bit Win 7. In Preferences > Interface, as I did in CS 5, I unchecked both Open Documents as Tabs and Enable Floating Document Window. However, unlike CS 5, in CS 6 images 'insist' on positioning themselves in the upper left corner of CS 6 and will cover both the options bar and the tool bar. For example, this will happen after opening an image if I try to move it or if I enlarge the image window (CTRL-0). If I open two images and try to move one so I can see both at the same time, the one I try to move will not stay where I put it but instead will reposition itself to the upper left, and cover the options bar and menu bar.
this makes working in CS 6 difficult and inconvenient. I assume this is a bug, and wonder if there are any workarounds or other solutions. To this point, I have not yet uninstalled and re-installed CS 6.
The cursor in my CS4 has turned into three different "figures" in line. This makes the program almost impossible to use and I cannot fin a way to come back to the normal "cross" again.
I can no longer read the preference menus as all the backgrounds have turned black. The text font does not show up.
I can't work out how to change the background to grey so I can read the text (or the text to grey). Problem occurred when I loaded lightroom 4, didn't correct itself when I loaded CS6
