The other day(most likely either coinciding with an update or maybe downloading another CC program) scrubby zoom and flick panning both stopped working. If I select the zoom tool scrubby zoom is greyed out.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 version 13.1.2 x32 EXTENDED
I checked my preferences and OpenGL is enabled, so I don't understand why it randomly stops working when I'm trying to get work done. Been working for less than four hours today and have had to restart Photoshop CS5.5 6 times. It starts working for a little while, then the "Scrubby Zoom" box becomes greyed out and the shortcut doesn't work as well.
Also when I hit space (hand tool) to drag the image around, that stops working at the same time as the zoom. I'm using an Intuos4 with this, haven't had problems with it until recently but there haven't been any significant changes in my machine (PC), which has a nice graphics card, processor, etc. I'm using Google Chrome, maybe it has something to do with my browser being open at the same time as PS?
I was just wondering why flick-panning stopped working....until I found out that if the option to move all open images (in the options bar of the hand-tool....don`t know the exact wording, because I have a german version) is on, flick-pannig does not work.

Under Performance the OpenGL is selected, the video card detected is AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series. I have checked that I have the latest drivers. What do I do?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using Photoshop CS5.1 on a Windows 7 laptop. Its about 3-4 years old. But this problem has started only recently. Every time I use the section tool, it will almost always break my scrubby zoom and makes a weird, glitch looking box. (as shown)
It also drops the quality of my images slightly. Does this have to do with my video card?
In my pc,video card supports openGL, and the openGL is available in performance menu, but the scrubby zoom does not active, and I cannot have a pan zoom ,how can I update the photoshop to remove the bug?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn a book I am working on, the zoom toggle suddenly stops working. It shows up, but moving the slider does not change the image size in the photo cell. I can still move the photo around in the cell, but cannot zoom in or out. I can right click to change to zoom to fill or zoom to fit, but cannot manually zoom in or out from that. Tried changing the default method to Z2Fit and Z2Fill, but neither mode solves the problem. I have been working on this book for a while, and the manual zoom has worked seamlessly up til now, and suddenly it doesn't work. I am hoping I accidentally hit a keyboard toggle to turn it off somehow, and just can't figure out how to get it back.
fwiw the problem cropped up as I started adding photos from another source, which were Nikon-based jpg files whereas all the rest previously added were either digitial scans (jpeg or tiff) or Pentax files (RAW & jpegs). I cannot imagine this has anything to do with the problem, but mentioning it just because its the only thing that was different when the problem cropped up.

when I am working on a large drawing and/or pasting as a block, all the grey lines (colour 8) turn to white. When I select a grey line, it flicks back to grey, but de-select, and it's white again.
If I toggle on hardware acceleration, the problem is fixed for a short while, and also if I turn it off, it is fixed for a short while, and also if I save, close and re-open it's good untill I paste a block....
I suspect it may be because of my setup and an un tested graphics card:

View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to continue using the Adjustment Brush outside of a currently zoomed area without having to jump out to pan with the mouse to the next area of the image. (If I change from the Adjustment Brush to mouse-click driven panning, I simply lose the end of my formerly brushed (painted) area, because it can be 're-activated' only with its pin, which is outside of the new area where I have just moved by panning with the mouse.)
I can move up and down with the scrolling roll without quitting the Adjustment Brush, but I have not figured out how to pan horizontally with a shortcut (e.g. something like Shift + Left/Right arrow key).
I am aware that by using the Shift + PgUp/PgDn keys I can pan up to the top, then down to the bottom in the adjacent strip, and then up again in the third strip, etc. But this 'vertical zig-zagging' is very time consuming and does not necessarily take me right to the targeted next area.
Is there any shortcut for horizontal panning in Zoom?
And before you say "It's because it's 14 years old", know that it was working perfectly until about two months ago.
I have a Windows 7 laptop with 4GB memory, plenty of HD space, and no other PC issues.
My Photoshop CS4 and CS5 shows "Photoshop has stopped working" . Whereas I have Windows 7 64bit, 6GB RAM, 512MB Graphics Card.
Earlier I worked in this version. But after formating my conputer I could not do anything with only in Photoshop. First I installed Photoshop CS4 it was failed to work then install Photoshop CS5..It also failed to work.
I updated Photoshop CC about 7 days ago. Before that it worked fine, since then I have been using Photoshop CS6 for some work (CC left it there when it installed) but yesterday I wanted to go to Photoshop CC from Lightroom 5.2 and Photoshop CC hung. Rebooted computer and tried to open Photoshop CC but it crashes on initialization.
As interim measure I installed PS CS6 as an optional external editor in Lightroom, but I would like to use Photoshop CC again one day!
Yesterday, I tried to start up Photoshop, but it got halfway through initializing and stopped, flashing a message: "Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 has stopped working." I shut down the computer and tried again, but it repeated three or four times.
So I uninstalled the program. Upon reinstallation, installation failed and the computer said: "Your installation encountered errors. Please try restarting your system and installing again. Exit Code: 20."
I have been using my program since June without issue. Suddenly it stopped working. I can open the program but it will not create a new file or open an existing file. If I "open with" from windows explorer it won't open either. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program and I'm still not having any luck.

It just says: Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. The only option is a box that says "close program". Once you close it everything goes away. It doesn't even give you a hint of what the problem could be. I installed creative suite 3 web premium on this brand new computer about 2 weeks ago. This is a first time install of this software, but when I called Adobe they said they don't offer free installation help anymore on cs3 because cs4 is out now. Anyone have a clue what I should do? I am working on a floor plan in CS5 Photoshop. Just basically tracing over an original document and erasing what I trace over. I do this all the time and it has been working fine.
But now the eraser won't work at all. When i turn off all the layers except the background layer I can erase things, but then when I turn the layers back on, it doesn't show up erased. I've tried resetting the tool and that didn't work. I'm so confused as to why it just stopped working.
i'm getting the error shown in subject. view details indicates problem with cooltype.dll. error started immediately after i activated a font in suitcase fusion 3. i was able to run photoshop 32bit to finish job. i deactivated font in suitcase and restarted computer. suitcase is not running but i still cannot run photoshop. what can i do to fix??

View 5 Replies View RelatedHad to replace the hard drive on my iMac. I use Time Capsule and when the new hard drive was installed had Time Capsule bring all my applications and files back. It seems to be working with all other files and apps.
But when I tried to use Photoshop CS 4 I received error message suggesting I restart the MAC which I did. Then got the same error message when I tried to open Photoshop. It said if restarting doesn't work go to Adobe.
I suspect the installation of Canon Pixma Printer software may have trashed Adobe components, is there an easy way to repair/reinstall just that part? I have the CS6 Master Collection and don't want to reinstall the whole shebang.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to run Photoshop CS5 on Windows 7 64bit. Everytime I open the program, I get an error saying "Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working", immediately after the splash screen goes away and the main gui opens. The only option on the error is "Close Program".
I am on a computer with an i7 processor and 12GB of memory. I have two Nvidia GTS 250 video cards, running four monitors.
Over the course of the last day, I have reformatted my computer, and reinstalled Windows twice. I have reinstalled the CS5 Master Suite more times than I can remember. I have also downloaded and installed the latest video card drivers from Nvidia.
I continue to have the same problem every time I try to open any of the programs in the CS5 suite.The only time I have come close to getting it to work was immediately after installing the new Nvidia drivers, before restarting my computer. I was able to open it one time without it crashing, Once I restarted my computer, Photoshop continued to give me the same error every time I try to open it.
I have no other software installed on my computer. It is a brand new installation of Windows 7.I have been on the phone with Adobe technical suuport for about an hour and a half, and I have yet to get a single suggestion other than attempting an install with my network cable unplugged. Other than that, they seem to be fond of transfering me back and forth between departments (and asking me to repeat all of my information every time).
One day I could print but the next I get "Adobe CS6 has stopped working, Windows is looking for a solution". I have tried re-installing, up-dating drivers, clearin preferences etc but without success!
